Questions about Life Is Strange.

1)Is dontnod(the developers of Life Is Strange) an indie company?
2)Do you think dontnod entertainment is competition for telltale games?

    1. No clue but I think so
    2. I honestly don't think so.
  • Thanks for replying! Very cool username btw.

  • 1.) Remember Me their previous game was pretty high budget so I don't really consider the team as indie.

    2.) Nah...

  • 1) not sure

    2) tbh no

    1. Not really, they are a smaller development studio, but i wouldn't consider them indie. They made the game Remember Me which had a decent budget like freelance said.

    2. At the moment no, at this point telltale is a pretty big and popular gaming studio (thanks to TWD) and dontnod is a smaller lesser known game developer. BUT, if they continue making games as good as Life Is Strange Episode 1 then I think they can and will eventually grow, expand, and become just as popular and eventually competition.

    1. Yeah it looks like something that came out of their arsenal

    2. I don't know yet. We haven't really seen that much of it yet. I did like the length of the first episode but it seemed dragged out and just thrown in where as Telltale gets to the point sometimes too fast like in TWD S2

    1. Not an Indie, but definitely a small studio.
    2. Hard to say yet, since its only the first episode. But it can have the potential to be just as good as Telltale.

They're a new studio too. Life Is Strange is only their second game, Remember me was the first.

  • Yes James, I know of them. I've done a little research. :)

    1. No.

    2. Could be, eventually. The dialogue isn't up to par with TTG, but everything else seems to be going along swimmingly. The only major separation is the amount of money they have sitting around the studio to pour into their work, as it sits now TTG has had more games and bigger titles so that has easily put them far beyond the monetary capacity of Dontnod. So long as they can stand the lack big income for the time it takes to get on their feet, sure.

  • I only pointed that out because I found it interesting that they filed for bankruptcy last year, so I hope this game goes well for them.
