Game of Thrones Episode 2 - Still "Coming Soon" (Mac)

So the second episode of Game of Thrones (The Lost Lords) has definitely been released now, but I am still stuck with this:

I'm running Game of Thrones on Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.2. I'm in the UK if that makes any difference, although I'm pretty sure the second episode has already been released in Europe too. I bought the entire season, of course, so this is incredibly frustrating. I downloaded the patch and replaced the Game of Thrones.app, and then deleted the Game of Thrones.app (but not the Library\Application Support\Telltale Games\Game of Thrones), re-downloaded from the website and reinstalled. Still it tells me that the second episode is "Coming Soon".

I want to play already!

  • I am having the same problem on my Mac :( hopefully they will get a fix soon! (I downloaded and installed the new patch as well, and no matter which way I try to get to the next episode, all places still say coming soon).

  • Same thing here. In the US, patch installed, on OS X 10.8.5.
    :(

  • Facing the same problem in android device.. :(

  • Same here. No fix yet? This happened on Walking Dead once and they gave me a steam key

  • Same here on OS X 10.8.5. Pfff

  • same here, playing on my Mac and the game will not advance to episode 2, patch has been installed several times

  • Did you have to raise the issue by emailing support to get the steam key? And no, still no fix yet. Makes me wonder what the patch was for...

  • Same problem here. OS X Yosemite 10.10.1... Downloaded the new patch - episode "coming soon"...

Please fix this soon, I want to play it so bad :)

  • I'm also having the same problem on the PS4. I've downloaded the season pass and so i've downloaded episode 2......but in the menu it still says coming soon and if i select episode two it returns me back to the last chapter of the first episode. I'm really confused....can anyone help?

  • Downloaded Season Pass, episode 2, like everyone else isn't working with new OS update and patch installed, re-installed etc. Please sort it out, I'm bored of waiting!

  • I'm having the same problem too! Telltale can't end Episode 1 the way they did and then leave us hanging. It's not fair.

  • same problem for me

  • I have not even been able to download the patch.

  • Same deal on iOS 8. I've tried reinstalling game couple times - Episode 2 still says "Coming Soon".

  • I'm having the same problem. It's ridiculous they haven't made any attempt to fix or even acknowledge that there's a problem. If anyone has found a way to solve the issue please let us know!

  • I'm having the same Problem on my computer (not even a Mac)... this is really frustrating. Telltale DO something!

  • I'm having the same problem on my Mac. The fact that it's not out yet doesn't bother me (that much), I would just like to have a definite Mac release date for future episodes.

Same problem.. I have also tweeted telltale but no so far not even an acknowledging of the problem. Extremely frustrating

EDIT: A workaround has been posted on this thread: http://www.telltalegames.com/support/discussion/90771/mac-season-pass-episode-2-still-won-t-download/p4
Hopefully this will work for you guys as well

My apologies for the delayed response, we are currently looking into an issue where the Mac patch is not working for all Mac users, and hope to have more information/an update in the near future.

  • I just tried the workaround and it works quite well: downloading went ok and game runs smoothly. Only difficulty now is that it gam is no longer full screen size.

  • Hi Mike, I am also having this problem but I am on a Windows 8 machine, I bought the game directly from this site, I've tried patching it, reinstall, turned off firewall and it still says Episode 2 Coming Soon.

    Any suggestions? Thanks

Please make sure that you have followed the steps in the Game of Thrones PC/Mac Patch Sticky and then try restarting both the game, and your computer, before attempting to play Episode 2.

If the game is currently in Windowed Mode, you can try switching the screen mode using the shortcut (Alt+Enter for PC, Command+F for Mac) and the game should switch into Full Screen mode. If you do not like the resolution in full screen mode, you can change it in the Graphics settings from the Settings menu. You can find it on the main menu of the game.

  • Mike I'd really appreciate a more detailed explanation of what the situation with the mac issues for episode two is. If you can't provide me with a rough estimate of a working patch etc. then please direct me to where I can apply for a refund because this is truly unacceptable. Thanks

  • I tried to fix the issue with the official steps a couple times now, but it still doesn't seem to be working. I'm going to try the work around since it seems to be having better results with correcting the issue.

  • It's Feb 13 and it's still not working... I'm beginning to regret Buying the game.

  • It's insulting how you treat your customers...

  • Also doesn't work on my Mac.
The game still shows "Coming Soon".

I remember issues with the installation when EP1 was published....

Yo, Telltale, another customer with the same issue here. I followed the patch steps without results.

Now, waiting a little extra time for the episode is fine as long as you can give us two things.

    1. A working product once released
    2. An estimate of when it will be released

The biggest problem is how you fail at providing your customers with adequate information and situational reports. You posted Monday this week that you're working on the problem. Is it too much to ask for an sitrep before you leave the offices for the weekend? How about something like "Hey, we're aware the problem still exists at the end of the week and we are still working on a solution" ? Would that be so hard? A simple message like that would spare your paying customers from much frustration.

  • Works - stupid of me not to try that...

  • I too have paid for the game and after much frustration cannot play the game either..I have to go to the Macgames store..Then to Telltale to register it and then play it on Steam...What a stupid way of playing a game..Walking dead was a fantastic game on the xbox and with none of this bull...Im sick of it and won't be buying any other games in this manner...I think its disgusting how you take peoples money and they can't even enjoy something they have paid for..This MUST contravene laws surrounding consumer rights..In fact I'm looking into it right now!....

My apologies for the delayed response. We have updated the critical patch for Mac users. If you have not yet tried, please re-download the Mac patch from the link in This Thread and it should overwrite the previous patch that did not work. After following the instructions in the above thread, please start the game again, and Episode 2 should update to show as available to download from in-game.

  • I just went to the page, clicked on the Mac Patch link, and got this:

My apologies, we recently updated the location of the patches on our servers. I have updated the hyperlinks and you should now be able to click the link for the Mac Patch, and it will take you to the proper page to begin downloading the patch. (Please don't forget to follow the steps on how to install the patch, and you will then be able to download and play Episode 2 successfully!)
