unrequited love

  • Well...

First of all I have never been in a relationship; I'm not even sure if I want a relationship right now...

    (I haven't even 'been' with a woman)

I have had rejections when I was younger, but they were never harsh, they just said it as politely as possible...

It is damn good that I'll be long dead by then.

I was going to say something similar. It's kind of ridiculous to ignore something that is actually there. Looking at George's more extreme example up above (the ridiculously muscular woman), of course males and females can self muddy the waters in how they shape themselves as individuals both physically and mentally, but ultimately the sexes are naturally attracted to certain things. Pretty much no guy is going to be attracted to that woman, as she is very masculine. That's not me being sexist, nor is it me being brainwashed by some sort of social construct. That's me being realistic to what males and females are naturally attracted to. Masculine and feminine traits exist for a reason. To ignore gender is to be in denial. A gender blind society would be ignoring something that is quite obviously naturally occurring, and ignoring something that is entirely interconnected with being a particular sex. I honestly don't think it will ever come about. There is nothing wrong with society spotting the differences in the sexes when they are obviously there. It has nothing to do with "equality", and everything to do with understanding that there are in fact major differences in being either a male or a female. You may as well just call a "gender blind society" a "blind society". Those opposing gender need to understand that gender is something that is and always will be a part of the package of being either sex.

Anyway, kind of went off on that a little more than I meant to. Again, I'm with you in the fact that if this ever happens, I hope it's long after our time. This type of thing would actually be more of a step back for society than otherwise. I really hope we're not headed to this extreme.

It's not about being scared, it's about feeling like you're not good enough to have an opinion on matters.

Again google it. There's been a hell of a lot of research about why women vote less than men (and it's not just because they're more 'lazy' like you.)

Men and women are attracted to different things? Really?

That's odd, I'm a man and most girls agree compeltely with the guys I find hot.

They took those ones because society already drums into children which toys they should enjoy or not. If they#re old enough to pick up toys they've already had toys given to them, they've been shown tv shows by their parents, their parents may have decorated their room with pink colours, relatives may have given pink teddy bears as christening presents for a baby girl.

it's completely entrenched. Obviously they'll choose the toys they're more familiar with.

    only women can give birth

That statement is just incorrect. Do you know what transgenderism is?

Whether you're a man or a woman does not depend of whats between your legs, its neurological makeup and even that is suspect, hence the fight for genderless society.

Even ignoring the millions of trangered people in the world, people who are born intersex and raised as male are perfectly capable of giving birth, and that doesn't stop them being male if they identify as it.

You shouldn't fear change as change is inevitable. And I'm very very sorry that your sexualised paradise is being torn apart, but as we speak the fight for removing signs saying 'girls toys' and 'boys toys' is succeeding.

Women dont not go to elections because there scared dont be so bloody ridiculous, I didnt vote because I couldn't be arsed! Gender isn't

Men and women being each for likely to have X personality trait doesn't make them intrinsically different, it makes them more likely to be differen.t

There is not one single way of completing the sentence 'Every woman in the world X' except for 'every woman in the world identifies as a woman'.

'Every woman in the world is caring' no. 'Every woman in the world is weak' no. 'Every woman in the world has a vagina' no.

Considering there's no definable difference between an a man and a woman, then, then treating people differently for it is arbitrary, and we'll move past it.

Of course all the above is applicable to men.

I don't mind. For me, it was an interesting read.

I'm afraid we already are, or, at least, you people in the West are.

Of course not every single human being is going to follow a certain set path or definition in regards to gender. It would be absurd to expect otherwise. Of course there are going to be anomalies. That doesn't mean you ignore the typical natural differences between males and females, and how society works with those differences. As I said above, masculine and feminine traits exist for a reason. Looking back at George's example of the overly muscular woman (which is again an extreme example, but it serves the point), that individual has made choices with her body that have made her sex more ambiguous at a glance. She has strayed from the typical norm of her gender, and that is entirely connected to her also straying from the norms of her sex, which also makes the point that gender and sex might as well just be the same thing or at least seen in the same light, regardless of those who want to argue that gender is purely a social construct. That isn't to say that people can't go against the norm... only that they are in fact going against the norm (the norm again being the typical and natural differences between males and females).

Having two distinct genders has everything to do with having two distinct sexes.

  • This has happened to me a couple of times.

I sometimes tell them straight forward that I'm not interested in them. If they continue, I just stop talking to them.
