Grievance On My Mind
Animation has always fascinated me, even when I was younger. In my youth, I grew up with Batman: TAS and X-Men TAS.
Then at the beginning of 2000, I was in awe of Samurai Jack, and I almost gave it up for the appalling DBZ. Oh, what I fool I was.
Thankfully, all of Samurai Jack is graced in my DVD collection.
Over the years, I have begun to lose faith in Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. The premature cancellation of Sym-Bionic Titan was the last straw for me. I also taking a shine to DC's Young Justice, which I feel was better than TT. Then, it was cancelled as well.
We lost Young Justice....FOR THIS?!!!!
So, I chose to remember what I deem worthy. My Hall of Fame consists of:
Batman TAS
Ben 10 (no sequels)
Code: Lyoko
Darkwing Duck
MLP: Friendship is Magic
Penguins of Madagascar (just cancelled a while ago. Nick sayonara)
Roughnecks Starship Troopers Chronicles
Samurai Jack
Stoked
Sym-Bionic Titan
The Angry Beavers
Transformers G1 (Season 1-2)
Transformers: Prime
X-Men TAS
Also an honorary title: Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes
Also the popular web series from RoosterTeeth RWBY!
I find it hard to see the logic behind network executives decisions for replacing quality entertainment for junk. For many years, I've bared ill will to the aforementioned networks.
If only can someone please answer this, to Fairly Odd Parents, SpongeBob Squarepants, Teen Titans GO! and any current CN show running:
Comments
You're a fan I presume?
My apologies then. I just wished to speak my mind.
I feel this is me, with CN and Nickelodeon.
Yeah, but don't worry about it. I don't really care if you think DBZ is bad, I just love using that gif :P
Oh, thank you. Sorry, you just gave me a scare for a moment.
I'm not very good at or receiving teases.
You know, I honestly feel like CN are the only ones who give a shit about putting effort into modern cartoons, though they aren't perfect, some of CN's modern cartoons are admirable gems to me like Steven Universe, Regular Show, and some episodes of Adventure Time. I really only give CN credit, because they made something that I don't think Nick or Disney would have made and that's Over The Garden Wall, which is a damn good, deep cartoon that's funny, has likeable characters, and is very nostalgic of other classic animation.
Nickelodeon is a fucking travesty, it's a network that has no plan and no idea on what to do with itself, it instead is the SpongeBob network, and its only quality cartoon, TMNT, rarely ever comes on. TMNT, instead, mostly comes on its bootleg channel Nicktoons.
Disney Channel is still relying WAY too much on bland and uninspired kid sitcoms, but they're starting to put out a few quality cartoons, even if I don't really watch Wander Over Yander or Gravity Falls, but I've heard both are very good.
Let's not forget that Korra was also taken off of T.V. and instead put on their website because of how incompetent Nick was when it came to advertising anything other than their trash shows. And they cut the budget for an entire episode of book 4 which screwed over the creators big time. Seriously, fuck Nick.
I just finished watching Korra like 2 days ago, it was interesting, I quite liked it but I had a lot of problems with it though I don't remember most of them anymore so it probably was my habit of nitpicking stuff, I didn't think it was as good as Last Airbender but I'm afraid it may be nostalgia so I'm currently re-watching that to find out which is it, still it was a pretty cool show with interesting characters but it feels like they needed an extra epilogue episode.
I know it's not as good as other shows. But, I like Teen Titans GO!
Anyway, if you want a good animated show, I suggest Gravity Falls.
Years and years ago cartoon network used to have a sister channel that would show more grown up cartoons and they would put on decent martial arts movies late at night I gave up on tv cartoon channels after that channel got axed that was like 10 years ago us kids toons are usually uninspired rehashs or blatant copies of old stuff I dont realy like any kids stuff any more there will always be room in my heart for the old classics like samurai jack he man and thundercats(which actually had a fairly decent reboot) but most new stuff is meh. The only kids stuff I like now is aquabats and horrible historys was good but I think thats over now and there not toons anyway
