Obviously they don't count. Nintendoomed since 1889 (sarcasm).

Seriously, don't you find it weird that when they announce a new Mario or a Zelda, people complain that they only milk their old IPs, yet when they announce a new IP, they say that it doesn't count and they want a new Mario game. Then again, they are probably trolls.

Someone hasn't been paying attention to the news. They have like 3-4 new IPs in development right now. They've already shown off some of them. And they are starting to make new games from old franchises, like Star Fox.

  • Exactly. People complain about Nintendo rehashing the same game over and over, yet there's COD 17, Halo 7, etc.

  • Oh well, let them complain, meanwhile, we can just enjoy Zelda U, Star Fox U, Xenoblade X, Splatoon, etc.

Ive never heard of either of them.

They both have a very german feel to them i dont mean that in a bad way, i like expressionism but it can be depressing if your not in the mood. the second one looks like the type of film that will drain you if you know what I mean they both look realy good. I like jan svankmajer(probably not spelt right) And alejandro jodowasky I always get them mixed up for some reason

jw, if you like Akira Kurosawa, what about Ingmar Bergman? He's up there for me at least. Hour of the Wolf is one of my favorite movies.

  • Japanese media is not overrated, it is just that it produces so many great things compared to its competitors.

They also know how to turn manga, anime and games well to live acted movies. For example that Ace Attorney movie is just great even though it was based on the game. Their actors are incredible to look and portray some weird characters rather accurately, unlike Hollywood. For example L. Lawliet's actor did incredible job with his portrayal.

  • It's only overhyped if you make it overhyped.

  • WHAT! Did you say ace attorney movie!

    To movietube!

  • thanks for correcting me , once again :3

Isao Takahata did Grave of the fireflies not Miyazaki. It was studio ghibli but Miyazaki didn't direct or write it.

  • Mario Galaxy was a copy of Mario Sunshine? What the hell? It is completely different and so are the Zelda games. Pokemon I could understand, but they still add lots of new stuff with each game.

Yes, They DO Have some original Ideas, But, Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon Games Have been the exact same since Mario Sunshine, and I really don't have time to make a chart for you explaining how alike they are, so Just try and think about it please.

Wow, you're the first person I've met who knows Jan Svankmajer. I loved Faust, and at least the first part of Lunacy. He can be a bit out there for me sometimes though. Strange in order to be strange. Jodwasky, was that "I Stand Alone"? Now I'm getting him confused with Gasper Noe. As far as expressionism goes, Fritz Lang FTW.

Btw, are you girl? Not my business, just somewhere you mentioned having a bf, from the avatar I had you figured for a boy. I really like your sn btw.

    Yeah im a girl

I haven't watched all of his work yet but I got into him because I love stop motion the first thing I saw was alice because a teacher at college said I would like it and I loved it, ive seen a few of his shorts, lunacy, conspirators of pleasure and surviving life. I dont know why I haven't seen faust yet because I like the story and ive seen and read a couple of versions of it, terry Gilliam did his own version of the opera which was realy good but my favorite version of faust ive seen is a silent german one I think it was made in 1910 or near that time the effects are amazing but yeah the second half of the story drags.

Im not familiar with the other names you just mentioned but im always up for watching new wierd films. el topo is a good film its worth watching. I like strange visual effects and mind fucks

I dont know what sn means lol

Edit: after doing a search I realised I do know lang gotta love metropolis and theres a anime version of that

    800% overrated, Mostly crap.

  • I don't think you play the Nintendo games. There ARE a lot of original ones, and Yes, Galaxy is a perfect example. But Skyward Sword, The Remakes of Pokémon and Zelda, New Super Mario Bros (With the exception of the new powerups), They're all extremely alike, Exceptions Being:

    • Mario Galaxy
    • Zelda A Link Between Worlds
    • Fire Emblem Awakening
    • Sonic Boom
    • Etc.

  • It's not overrated at all. It all depends on the quality of what your watching and what appeals to you. I love both American and Japenese/south Korean media and really rarely see that many people calling Western forms a media crap.

They are all unique in their own ways.

  • There was a Zelda game with 1:1 motion controls before Skyward Sword? Boy, I must have been living under a rock since I never heard of it. So Nintendo just copy and pasted everything from this magical Zelda game onto Skyward Sword? The controls, the items, the dungeons, the bosses, the Loftwings, the story, etc?

Also, don't remind me of that broken POS Sonic Boom. That game is without a doubt the worst Sonic game since '06.
The worst part is that the game isn't even hillariously bad, like '06. It's just really borring and broken

It was Not broken. There were very little bugs and some boring parts, You people just have a bad impression of sonic, It's not about the game's story, or the graphics and lack of bugs, it's about the adventure, same with all the others since adventure. It's about having fun with friends, pointing out the funny stuff.

Also, I was NOT talking about controls, I was speaking of the plots, enemies, and items.

  • Not exactly. with the money made off of alien isolation and a lot of other releases, Sonic Boom will have a sequel, especially with the animated series.

Also, The Zelda Franchise with Toon Link, and A Link Between Worlds are really different, But Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, Four Swords, Etc. are the same, and Pokémon Stopped Being Different After Gen 3, Then it was the same, and very little of the pokemon were even cool.
