Why TTG? WHY!? :(

edited February 2015 in General Chat

First, you partner with Lionsgate to produce part tv, and part game series, calling it some type of supershow? This is garbage, why do this? Have you forgotten about Defiance, and the MMO that tried to work with it? Failure, the tv show was better than the game. Secondly, you brought that slime ball from EA on your board of directors? You've gotten too big for your own good, now all of the flavor, and greatness that made you will quickly go away.

This is a sad day for you, and even worse for us.

  • History repeats itself. Why TTG? Why!? :(

  • We will see what you have to say a little later when the new company starts to reveal itself to you.

I prefer not to judge something I haven't seen.

  • That's understandable. Maybe some research will open your eyes, look up the board of directors from EA who just joined their board of directors. Also, look up Defiance MMO Tv Show project.

Yeah, it seems that everytime adventure genre wants to resurface as a "big thing" it gets shot down by some big company.

Meanwhile stuff like Nancy Drew game series tries to keep going with its clunky navigation system.

Though it is too early to call if this deal screws or benefits them.

  • Oh look judging things before we know anything about them again. How fun.

  • Actually I'm judging based off a long factual history of a certain new board director at TTG, that combined with the 'supershow' announcement.

  • I don't know yet, mostly because them explaining is like trying to learn a new language but it looks like we will be directing or acting in a show ten choices changing on which we did first?

  • If it works then it's a cash cow. It makes sense why this happened.

So I guess this was Telltale's original IP?

  • Yes, this is the original IP they are discussing. They haven't revealed the contents of the IP, but based on history alone, their new board member John Riccitiello is bad news for TTG.

Well, it was fun while it lasted.

They use to make great adventure games and had a steady output of content. Now, we have game after game being announced and a much slower pace of output.

  • Lionsgate are awesome and TTG need something new and fresh

  • No, I wasn't. I'll stay, I figure you have no place to say where and where not I can be. Deal with it.

  • What they don't need is Riccitiello. Riccitiello is a very, very old and non-fresh person. His ideals and thoughts on how DLC and Micro-transactions should be the future of video gaming are just a few of the terrible ideas he enforced onto EA to bring them down to that horrible DRM filled state they were in back in 2011 and 2012.

How dare telltale team up with lionsgate to create "new and original" IP's

I cant believe they would partner with people who are giving them tons of money and resources so that they now can afford a "better game engine"

Telltale should just continue making 100 more seasons of the walking dead instead of going in this direction with the company lol

  • I'm not pissed off about that, I'm pissed off about John Riccitiello being given a position at their board of directors. The man has had a very, very bad track run with his practices and ideals and EA suffered greatly under his run. Such a man with such ideals I do not trust in any factor as a director of Telltale Games.

  • He will still have influence on the direction the company takes, hence being a director. And if people agree with his ideals then we could be in for a bumpy ride.

  • Hating on something before we have any idea how its going to turn out hmmm...Where have I've seen that? Cough Tales From The Borderlands, The Wolf Among Us, The walking Dead cough aren't we just the most supportive community Telltale has ever had. :)

  • My opinion exactly.

  • Don't forget Minecraft! Though, we'll just have to see if that one pays off as well.
