That's around the time of Row v Wade, so they count the abortions in hospitals. Before it was high as well but the abortions were illegal (self-abortions, backalley doctors etc.) so it wasn't put on the list.
Again, both of those aren't legitimate methods for circumcision, are they?
I'm not only talking about circumcision in the name of religion, I'm also talking about the biological benefits of circumcision.
You keep repeating the key terms "child mutilation" and "life-changing" as a way to make this look like some horrific act with no benefits or context whatsoever.

I am against all forms of child mutilation in the name of religion. Its disgusting let the child reach an age where they can decide whether they want to follow that religion or not and allow them to make a choice. forcing life changing surgery on an infant or child is abuse.
Oh I see what you're saying, kill the innocent baby because of the unfortunate circumstances in which they were conceived, that's not at all… more heinous right? Look, myself and a few others have already debunked every single one of your points, as well as every other pro choice argument brought up in the thread dedicated to discussing abortion. I know I'm coming off pretty harsh, and I don't want you to think I'm attacking you or anything, but I am seriously unable to debate this subject in a civil manner since I find abortion to be absolutely immoral and inhumane. We are talking about the* murder of unborn babies* here, it is an extremely touchy issue for me.

Anyways, seeing as I'd rather not repeat myself as I ended up having to do several times in said thread, I'd advise you to just read through the comments.

Sorry, I assumed you were a Democrat because I knew you were a liberal. I am pretty busy, so I don't necessarily have the time that I once did to participate in debates such as these. But I do want to answer your questions, so I'll put it as briefly as I can. Basically, because I'm pro free market, I don't support labor unions. I believe that a labor contract, as well as negotiations (wages, benefits etc.) should be between the employee and the employer, and only the employee and employer. All labor unions do, in my honest opinion, is extort the employer for money and benefits that they didn't earn, they end up strong arming the employer into breaking the contract that should have been only between the employer and individual employee. Labor unions = collectivism in my eyes. And more often than not you have lazy employees benefiting off the hard work of other employees because of labor unions. I don't think that's fair. I can elaborate, but this the easiest way to summarize my take on the matter.
As for Scott Walker's stance on labor unions in Wisconsin, I believe it was unfair that many workers were forced to join unions, and had union dues taken out of their paychecks. The way I see it is that Scott Walker in his anti union stance was fighting for middle class citizens' right to work. And from what I've read and heard, since the power of labor unions in Wisconsin has diminished and people are no longer forced to be a member of a labor union, people are no longer joining them. That leads me to believe that most people didn't want to be apart of a labor union in the first place. That's a win in my book, people shouldn't be bullied into joining a union for fear of losing benefits. If the workers want to join a labor union of their own free will and bargain for better pay as a group, that's fine. But forcing people to join isn't. To bring the point home, I support free market, and I personally believe that collectivism, which is what a labor union is, has no place in a proper free market.
Okay, I can appreciate that. I think there should be background checks and mandatory safety courses, but other than that guns just aren't a … morebig issue for me. That said, I now live in a country with very strict gun laws, and I really like being to walk around alone at 2am and not worry about anything.
By the way, I have no allegiance to the Democratic party (except being registered as one) and I identify as a liberal - I am by no means a fan of Hillary; the only politicians active right now I'd say I'm gungho about are Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren - maybe Ralph Nader and Howard Dean, to the extent they're around anymore. There may be others but those are the ones that come to mind, especially seeing as the left wing of the democratic party is being systematically destroyed in favor of 'third way' democrats (Clintonites). I'm still waiting with little hope for the 'New New Deal' we were supposed to have.

I'm not trying to make you feel bad or anything, but this really is just not a subject I can treat lightly. We're talking about whether or not it's ok to take an innocent life, and I cannot stress enough how strongly I am against the killing of innocent lives .
It's just a matter of time. In about 30 years nearly everyone will have the views the left wing currently has, that's how it's worked for the past 150 years. We just need to wait.
Or at least that's ow it's worked in the uk. Which is my main concern as its where my kids are growing up so yeah.

Being pro-choice is the thing I feel the strongest about, probably because of my tokophobia but I don't care, I will always support the pro-choice movement with every fibre of my being. Same with LGBT+ rights, maybe again that's probably because I am not straight or cisgender, but that is another thing I support strongly.
Maybe I'll find more things to feel strongly about as I go through my life, but until I figure out what those other things are, that's all I've got for now.

But, still, now there are many more left wing people then right wingers in Southern Europe. Look at Greece! And now, in Spain, there's this new Political Party that is on the radical left (communists) that is becoming popular.

To be clear, I'm not saying you're wrong, but I honestly just don't know what you mean by this. Judging by the political compass threads, there are a lot more left wingers than right wingers here. And from what I can tell, I'm really the only consistently vocal right winger on this forum, so which other users are you talking about?
Even if you're right, and there are more right wingers than left wingers, or vice versa, I don't think it should be considered negative. If anything, it should encourage you to speak up and present your pov.
Goodness this forum is even more conservative than I expected. I mean, I expected to be off-put by the nature of living in an academic and t… morehereby pretty progressive place/workplace, but still, this is pretty shocking.
I really do wonder why telltale games attract this in a way that other RPGs don't. Anyone got any ideas specifically about what attracts a right wing crowd to these games? @ Right wingers in particular, what draws you to these games more than others such as dreamfall chapters, mass effect etc in the presentation of social and moral interaction?
Likely pushing gender-neutral toilets, getting rid of gendered toys, making all kinds of occupation discrimination illegal etc.
For example, gay people in the 80s fought for gay marriage. Now we have that after 30 years of hard fighting, we turn our eye to the ingrained homophobia in our society, such as the use of homophobic language, and trying to eradicate it.
It's the curse of being left wing: you realise that the world is shit. And it takes ages for it to be less shit. But at least our views wont be outdated. Homophobic grandparents will be the new racist grandparents, and we can be proud that that won't be us.

It may sound stupid and maybe offensive, but do you know what issue really grinds my gears? Fat people driving around those scooters at walmart. Why don't they walk and get some exercise?
I don't want to wait.

Well Flog, getting rid of discrimination and stuff is great, really is. However, there is a VERY noticeable problem with having gender neutral toilets.

Just by look at this thread, it's pretty obvious, isn't it? It'd be easier to judge if we still had downvotes (not that I want them back), but when we had them I remember every remotely anti-sexism/racism/homophobia thread getting as many dislikes as likes, which isn't just right wing but very right wing.
And yes, it would ideally encourage us to speak out - that's what it does to me - but as stated above by @AllThatRemains with about 12 likes, people are afraid to speak out because the right wingers are so vocal.
How things make people feel is so much more important than how it should make them feel.

I'm a huge fan of Augmentation and AI. Do you realize how much we could solve?
We could finally allow people with disabilities to become "Normal" if they want. People that lost their limbs in accidents could finally do what they did before and people who were born blind or deaf could finally see and hear the world normally. Obviously there are noticeable problems but those can easily be solved.
Well Flog, getting rid of discrimination and stuff is great, really is. However, there is a VERY noticeable problem with having gender neutral toilets.
Well, likes aren't the equivalent of being vocal. I also could say that because AllThatRemains got so many likes that there are a lot of left wingers on the forum, which could keep right wingers from participating. I figured when you said vocal, you meant people who are consistently posting their opinions on such matters.
I don't see why they would be scared of sharing their opinion on an online forum tbh. I've always felt the point of a forum is to share different povs, and discuss different opinions. Regardless, I'm not trying to intimidate anyone into not sharing their opinions, nor do I want to. But if I disagree with something or someone, I'm most likely going to speak up.

Yes, I realised that and removed the main part about likes from my post. On this thread, people are consistently expressing more right wing views than left wing ones.
Again, you don't see why they are, but that doesn't really matter - the fact is that they are,and that's not a good thing. Everyone's different, and are intimidated by different things. It's not hard to see why people might be afraid to be, say, pro-feminism in a thread where everyone has reacted badly to people putting the idea forward.

I agree that we shouldn't over use it. We should focus on letting the people who need it to get it. We must not allow just the rich to get this and create a even larger class gap than we already have.
I totally agree - I can't watch those RSPCA ads you get sometimes, it just makes me so angry how people can do things like that to poor defenceless animals.
I agree that it is a problem. But realistically, what can we do about that? We have no control over whether or not someone is scared to share their opinion. Everybody has a right to their opinion, but we don't have the right to sharing an opinion with the 100% security that no one is going to disagree and call us out. Hell, most of the time when I share my opinion I get a lot of backlash, and I don't normally get a huge amount of support. That doesn't stop me from asserting my stance though, because I'm confident in my opinion. People will always have opinions that clash, there's nothing that can be done about that. My only advice would be that it is imperative to have the utmost confidence in your stance while asserting your pov, where as the amount of people agreeing/disagreeing with you should be irrelevant.

They do, they just take fucking decades and then pass it off as their own ideas.
Interesting.
Yes, biological benefits. Look at what I said to the other users above.
Circumcised people are "able to wank properly", and that's not why religious people practice circumcision anyway.
