Opinions on any form of discrimination

edited March 2015 in General Chat

This may seem like a weird subject, but I see a lot of discrimination, whether it be online or in real life. I'm not entirely sure if it's a good idea to post this topic... but it's not like i'm doing anything else right now.

My personal opinion is that it's ridiculous that any form of discrimination, whether it be homophobia, racism, sexism, or whatever else is unacceptable in today's society. If someone tries to insult someone purely because of their sexuality, or their race - something they cannot change and do not decide themselves - then I think it shows a degree of unintelligence if someone thinks those features could define a person.

Obviously its wrong but perhaps almost or just as bad are people who insuate when no offence happened or was even intended, it trivialises real abuse and problems.

For example the way people often explode over a comment taken out of context etc. of course actual discrimination is appauling

I hate to be a Devil's advocate, but this world needs them. Since people can now change their sex, does that mean they can be discriminated against? Just meditate on that for a while.

By the way not my opinion, but I'm sure it's someone else's.

    InGen out!

Wait so...you think if someone thinks someone is, say, a criminal because she or he is black, that shows intelligence?

  • Sexism these days refers to discrimination based on gender identity, not sex.

Gender identity can't be autocratically changed.

  • The whole, something they cannot change thing was just another thing to add to my topic - I still disagree with any other form of discrimination.

  • Discrimination in any form is a result of one persons inability to see farther than themselves.

    peace out.
