Learn, TTG: Official Language Mod support for Life is Strange realeased.

"Whilst we do not officially support other languages in the game, we have created a way to allow gamers to create their own localised versions, and not have them overwritten on any updates we release. "

Well, Square beated TTG again.
Not only they are on schedule, but they also provided support for fan-made languages.

  • This is cool.

More languages will come eventually - Telltale is currently upscaling so its just a matter of time.

    Let's compare the companies:

Square Enix Net Sales: 155,023 million in Japanese Yen.

Square Enix Number of Employees: 3,581

Telltale Net Sales: statistic unknown, but guaranteed to be significantly less than Square Enix

    Telltale Number of Employees: 240

Square Enix has both the money and the employees to do that compared to Telltale, it's not a fair fight. That's like comparing a Porsche to a bicycle. But good for Life is Strange fans.

  • Great idea, though it's also tempting to develop some prank localizations. ;)

  • Well, they're not providing translations, but just a support for fan made ones.
And they earn foreign money for providing new language with no expenses.

Time waits for no man, and neither does business. If TTG can't deliver someone else will.

  • And that will inspire them harder to get up to speed with their market rivals.

  • Oh a AAA game company beat out an indie company. Good for them, someone needs to put those peons in their place. /sarcasm.

Seriously though everyone wins in this scenario. Lets hope fans will give just as much support to Telltale games and vice versa so we all can enjoy their stories.

  • Keep in mind that whereas Life Is Strange is an original franchise, Telltale works with pre-established brands. I imagine that plays into their hesitance to allow fan translations, as they don't want to risk making the brands look bad if somebody includes some pranks or other offensive content in the translations as WarpSpeed alluded too.
