I liked the show maybe it will be a good film but I hated that trailer they repeated the same stuff over and over again I'd rather a more fluid trailer and a full mini action scene shown tbh
well I hate it too, not true but... I love characters, love story and HATE GIANT, I mean not they are bad or evil because is a necessity to have them, I just HATE GIANTS, it will be more better with gods, mech or alien... I don't know...

What's up with this anime. Everyone screams their damn head off when they're attacking those giant monsters. Haven't these people ever heard of the element of surprise. It should be the first thing taught, no matter what. That hurt me liking the show a bit.
My only problems are I have a feeling the cgi will look cheesy when we get to see more scenes. Japan's CGI animators are less then par compared to American cgi animators.
That and in the Attack on titan lore Asian's are rare and often sold into the sex trade. Mikasa is like the only Asian left when Eren saves her. I guess there going to just cut out all that back story since everyone is Asian in the film version.
Why do I have a feeling this is just going to look silly? The characters look too literally adapted, but what works in animation looks ridiculous in real life.
I don't like it either, it had such of a promising start and then Eren died and it looked like it was going to be awesome and I really liked were Mikasa, Armin and Jean's arcs were going but then he came back and it we t to shit, everything interesting was completely removed, Mikasa goes back to being completely dependant and obsessed with Eren, Jean goes back into background and Armin loses that whole PTSD guilt he had going for him, it's just so boring and stupid, plus everyone always mentioned how it was awesome because every character could die even though no one important ever died, the only characters that died were secondary characters that looked like they were going to be important but died, every single member of the main cast pretty obviously had plot armor, I even read some of the manga to make sure it was just a bad first impression but nope it gets worse, even more boring and uninteresting, it's pretty terrible but I can understand why people like it unlike some of the others that are popular.

The series could have been much better than it ended up, the anime was loads of manga compressed so the story was moved much quicker than it should have originally as a result it felt rushed and the audience have to wait longer for manga to be written so it can be adapted into anime. Its like compressing all of harry potter books into one film
I forgot about the asian thing... that sucks, I got the impression eveyone was suposed to be germanic (Jaeger) I liked the way the anime had a medieval feel to it that will be lost with a japanese cast. This is probably just going to be a film of the series and not original at all. At least its not american made has anyone seen that awful dragonball movie?

I'll give you the arc for Mikasa was pretty much dropped, but Armin is still a prominent character, especially regarding how he relates to Eren. As far as his thousand mile stare, that was somewhat fleshed out in the episodes where Eren was 'dead,' where he learned to stop blaming himself by recognizing his value as a tactician. The key turn around moment being his plan with the muskets. I'd have to watch it again, but I didn't think Jean's role was demoted that much, he's still a major character. I think if anybody should get more screentime it's potato girl, but I'm weird.
Actually, now that I mention it, Mikasa was perpetually obsessed, and even when Eren was believed dead she clearly had a suicide wish, but yes, the dynamism of that relationship did fade out.
But what I did like in the later parts were some of the hopelessness of the decisions. The big one for me (and spoilers if you haven't seen it) was when Eren was debated whether or not to confront the female titan against orders - one of his superiors told him to listen to his heart, another pleaded that he trust his squad. He made one choice, but later found out that choice isn't always the right one.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not fanboying here or saying its the best thing since sliced bread, but I did enjoy the show and am impatient to know the next season doesn't come out until 2016.

I agree, I thought Cowboy Bebop was better show, and I don't think any of them, even the ones you mentioned, can hold a candle to Ghost in the Shell, but I'm wondering how much of our opinions is simply out of nostalgia?
Jean really gets demoted later on and also goes back to simply having "being a jerk" as his main character trait, it's pretty lame, though they might ave fixed this later I don't know I didn't read that much about it because I didn't like it, in any case the series didn't focus on any of the elements of it that I like and I honestly think that the whole turning into Titans thing is really stupid and I find the whole conspiracy thing behind it to be completely boring, not to mention that the damned thing moves at a snail's pace.
Anyway, it's not the worst thing ever and like I said I understand why people like it, but it's definitely not for me, I only watched it and read it because my brother was really into it, but I nitpicked it so much that I made him hate it, a better strategy is if you like something don't make me watch it, I'll probably nitpick the shit out of it, then again it was thanks to him that I watched Fate/Zero which I really liked, it's a shame that Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Bladeworks is awful, well not really but the writing is mediocre at best.

There is slow pacing, but I disagree on the whole conspiracies and the origin of the titans being boring, I don't think many do, not that I heard of as of yet.
Did you read the manga?

They used the German name and the German themed opening song as a symbol of freedom and brotherhood between the Survey Corps members and the army, to fit into the mood :P

I don't disagree that finding out the origin of the Titans could have been interesting and should be included, however the execution was lackluster and uninteresting, well at least to me, like I said the show ended up focusing on all the themes and characters that I didn't care for instead of the ones I found interesting, so of course I find it to be a bore, like I said it's not terrible but Eren is easily the most boring character in the show and having him be the main focus kinda ruined the whole thing for me, but like I said it's not the only thing I dislike, it's just not a show for me.

Are you talking about the movie or the Stand Alone Complex series? because the movie was boring and not memorable(downloaded it again a couple weeks ago and took me 20 minutes to realize I already watched it a year ago.). The series on the other hand is incredible.

Actually, I like Stand Alone Complex best. It's even hard to choose between the first and second gig, they're both so good. I'd probably say first better plot, second better execution. The movies were good too, but not nearly as good as the series.

If it was I would have mentioned Dragon Ball Z
Oh, I just watched the show. I wouldn't know how to get my hands on the manga, though I know it's released in Korea so I could probably find it super easily. To be honest, I don't really read much manga, or watch much anime for that matter. Just people on this forum kept going on about how good it was so I figured I'd give it a shot.

I don't read much manga either but my brother kept pestering, I have however watched a lot of animes even though there are few that I like, in any case I wouldn't recommend reading the manga though, and not only because I dislike it but because if you like the show you'll probably enjoy it more if you just watch it and get surprised by the twists than if you read it and you're just watching to see a really well animated version of it, because the animation for that show was pretty good.
If you like good tragic stories though I would recommend you watch a show called "Puella Magi Madoka Magica", it's only 12 episodes long and it's really good, also because of it's short lenghth it's really well paced. The show itself is about girls with magical powers and well despite it's cutesy art style it actually has a pretty dark story, I don't want to spoil anything but this and Telltale's Walking Dead S1 are the only pieces of media that have made me cry.

Horrible anime made into (probably) horrible movie. Yippee.
This is the first I've heard of someone who doesn't like it.
I don't know how good it can be in live-action, but I love the anime.

This movie will be great, maybe or at least gross, if character will do their part it may be AWESOOOOOME!!!!!
From trailer special effect are kind of 'messy'.

They are fairly creepy.

wtf is wrong with anime these days? When are we going to get good shit like Death Note, Cowboy Bebop, Akira, Wolf's Rain, etc. again?
Anime turned Live action is never a good idea. When will these people learn.
Looks dumb......I'll pass ..thanks.
I would prefer if it was animated, but it's AOT so it might be good

I think of them more as mutants

Theres a few, there ok for live action remakes

Yeah,I've allways thought most anime based life action movies look kind of silly,
I think anime should stay as anime.
Turning one into a live-action movie is, somewhat bad. It would be much better if it was a CGI movie.
Just found out there a attack on titan subaru ad as well its worth a look I could only find one with a annoying "omg reaction" though
