Lady Forrester x Lord Whitehill

I assume many have already thought about it but we can debate it here.

In the first episode Lord Whitehill is disrespectful to Ethan and when Lady Forrester shows up he suddenly becomes intimidated and stop making a fuss, being called "wounded boar".
In the second episode (and in the end of the first) he doesn't seem to care about her anymore.

Do you people think there was some kind of deal between them that was canceled or something like that?

    I don't know. Perhaps Whitehill wasn't as pissed off at the Forresters?

    Maybe he feels he has more power on the forresters now so he doesn't care as much and act like an ass even to her , I don't know.

    This was before he had all the power handed to him by the Boltons Ludd feels like he's in control now and can do or say anything he wants without consequences.
