Okay true. I didn't originally think of that. But that's why we should just have small penalties, such as having comments flagged or warning delivered. Or even a 24-hour ban if nothing improves.

That would be hard to enforce, and way out of line to penalize people for. I don't mind it so much when it's a short comment, but I agree that it makes things difficult to read when someone posts a long argument.
My main concern would be that it would discourage people who don't have English as their native language to share their thoughts.
Lmao oh my god. With all the typos and grammatical errors I make, I would be perma banned by now.
English isn't the first language for everyone. Even if it is, I still don't think it would be fair at all to be punished for errors that someone makes. That just isn't right imo. A lot of people also use slang, so that might come off as an error to some people and just cause way too many problems.
Also keep in mind the things like dyslexia, or anything of that sort. Things people can't control. Getting penalized for the way you type just wouldn't be right.

No punishment this forum isn't a spelling or grammar test
It's for people who love to debate TWD or want to share there love for the game this is ridiculous myself I have dyslexia but I can still make great and educated points but sometimes my grammar is bad not my fault I'd be really pissed if I got punished for that
As long as the person loves the walking dead or telltale games and trys to make a good comment and not troll I do not have a problem with bad grammar or spelling tbh
Punishment for bad grammar would be very hard to enforce. However there are many, MANY moments in which I feel that any normal person should use the right grammar, and just saying "It's the internet, it doesn't reflect on who you are as a person in real life", or "It's just the internet, it doesn't matter" is extremely annoying.
Examples:
Lack of periods
you're vs your (If you CAN replace it with you are and it makes sense, you're good!)
Yes whatever we find annoying must be punished >:D
You said your instead of you're GTFO permaban this place would be so much funnier and better I bet XD
I think small grammar mistakes don't matter as long as the person try their best I find people who keep on calling tlou overrated extremely annoying sometimes but I accept that's their opinion and respect it their shouldn't be punishment for my annoyance
You think someone is going to have bad grammar get punished come back after a ban then will suddenly have better grammar seriously? You think that will not lead to people being mocked and left out because of some grammar issues here they have no control over
Punishment for bad grammar would be very hard to enforce. However there are many, MANY moments in which I feel that any normal person should… more use the right grammar, and just saying "It's the internet, it doesn't reflect on who you are as a person in real life", or "It's just the internet, it doesn't matter" is extremely annoying.
Examples:
* Lack of periods
* you're vs your (If you CAN replace it with you are and it makes sense, you're good!)
* should HAVE vs should OF
* their vs they're vs there
* and many many many many others

Okay, wow, never once did I say that. I made a list saying things I felt should be common knowledge in grammar rules.

Again, I never said ANYTHING about punishment, merely what I thought should be common knowledge. Please stop twisting things.

You never said punishment was a bad idea just that would be hard to enforce you also gave examples you implied you followed the idea with the wording I wasn't look to twist anything thank you for the verification of your point

Meh, I feel that good grammar should be more of a rule of thumb than an official forum guideline - not to mention it would be a nightmare to… more enforce. Of course, it's good courtesy, but I feel it would be a bit too strict to make an official rule out of.
Oh, and mobile keyboard typos are also something to keep in mind.
My thoughts when trying to read the discussions in the Minecraft Story Mode section. I actually want to see what people write, but one of my pet peeves is incorrect grammar, improper punctuation or unneeded capitalization.
I don't think he's trying to underestimate it or anything, he's just pointing out that we're defending someone in a trial, or making a speech in a parliament, so he doesn't care if in a place like this people would make grammar errors.

As much as I agree on the fact that some commas here and there would be appreciated sometimes, don't forget that many users don't have english as their first language. We shouldn't punish them just because they make a few mistakes sometimes, learning a new language can be hard and they should be encouraged instead. In my opinion, a reward for a good behaviour is more effective than a punishment for a bad one. Next time you spot a mistake you could gently explain to them how to correct themselves and, eventually, they won't make the same error again. You can even begin with me! I'm sure there is at least one mistake in that comment.
Tldr (come on, it's not that long): Don't be hard on some users because english may not be their first language. Try and learn mine and you will see that even with a goodwill, you're bound to make mistakes sometimes.

Lol, sure thing, pal.
Are you kidding me?
If someone got banned over grammer, TTG would be in serious legal trouble. Its discrimination.

Really? Small punishments? I have an idea then: We should all speak in our common language, It will be really fun!! Vamos começar a partir de agora
Well this is idiotic.

Edit: that was suposed to be a reply. Woops
Bro too late I alreay posted it
Yes, that would make things really fun.
I honestly don't care, it's the internet. And it's stupid to punish people. Not everyone is fluent in English.
U am the king of noble typos.
Well said. And there's those like me (or is it just me? ..eh) who only knows English and STILL manages to mess up on his grammar and spelling. xD
sigh
don't
I won't, just saying: It's never "just" the internet.

Yes, sometimes I feel the same

That's completely uncalled for.
