I think the only suitable punishment for bad spelling and grammar is that you'll get called out for it.
I don't really mind it that much, but I can't stand it when the people who berate others on the internet for having different opinions are the same ones who can't spell to save their lives. This is a shot from someone on the forum who gave me so much shit just because I thought In Harm's Way was good:
When starting arguments with someone on the internet, one should be mindful of their own spelling and grammar. In other words, don't call someone a retard when you spell like a retard.
Well I understand him very well, I guess is because I am bad at grammar too. In the last post he try to say, at least I think, after he desperate try to prove you that the dlc for season one from telltale is 'wrong' where all decision don't event count...
PS: I said (him) instead of (you), my mistake sorry

Comparing some guy on the internet asking for penalties for poor spelling to a terrorist who destroyed the lives of countless thousands is really stretching it, don't you think?
Besides, if there are non-english speakers on forums who think no one should care about how bad their grammar is, then maybe they shouldn't be on the forums at all. Or they can at least improve their english before starting a discussion.
Maybe I over reacted but this just makes me angry, punishment over misspelling, sounds exactly like Hitler slaughtering jews for being jews.
This thread doesn't exactly welcome non-english speakers to stay
It's because you don't pay attention to my words, you read them but don't 'follow' them...
The Walking Dead: 400 Days that is a DLC and special episode for Telltale Games The Walking Dead: Season One, it have great characters and diverse stories but in the end if you play you will get only a extra scenes from the characters that follows Tavia, if they don't follow the scenes will be skipped.
more simple it doesn't matter any of the decision you take, telltale shows that when Bonnie is becoming simple 'plot tools' and the rest of them just 'vanish'.
it's like you're born, you live the life, you do 'great' thinks and in the end you get notice but that all, you vanish, without knowing where you are or how you're, alive or dead.

Every user on this forum deserves respect so they have a little grammar trouble, they are learning they come here to debate the games they love and feel part of a great community this is.
They just don't want to be abused or punished for grammar they don't mind if it's in a respectable manner not to much to ask imo
I know lots of users who greatly improved their grammar and English interacting on this forum we are a welcoming place for everyone to come and have fun no matter your level of grammar just do your best and we will help you if you want
btw non-english speakers is racist as well I know lots of users great at English and it's not their first language don't sterotype anyone can have bad grammar.
Plus Vince is saying not to abuse people over something they can have no control over in my case Dyslexia
I have no control over that ifanyone wants to ask me to leave and improve because of my grammar which is impossible can kindly F**k off

Great job, Mark, I absolutely 100% agree with you, buddy :')
I think everyone should be able to discuss the games they love on these forums with out getting tormented over their grammar. I'm sure everybody knows english that much, that they can make sense of themselves. And that's enough for me.

Oh, I get it. So the moral of the message is this: "It doesn't matter that english isn't your first language and it's okay to have bad spelling and grammar as long as you're having fun, because that's what matters the most."
I'm not gonna argue against your stance on people who are dyslexic nor will I defend people who act like assholes when it comes to someone's spelling (unless the person who's being attacked is the one who's being a jerk), but I will say this:
The biggest problem I have with what you just said is that you're implying there is no reason for anyone to make any improvements whatsoever with their skills. They have to be coddled for it just because you don't want to hurt their feelings. Imagine if we took this logic and applied it to other things:
Your best friend loves to cook. The problem is his cooking sucks, but he just loves doing it. You would say, "Hey your cooking's great man!" but you'd be lying through your teeth. Are you also implying that people who are horrible singers should keep doing it, because they're having fun? And they should ignore people who actually have valid criticisms on how to improve?
If I suck at something, I'd rather my friends tell me upfront so I don't embarrass myself. I prefer to make improvements rather than make excuses. If I know my friend sucks at cooking even though he loves to do it, he deserves my full honesty and respect to tell him he can do much better. To me, that is what real friendship is. Not lying to them. I'm not saying proper grammar and spelling is mandatory (here, at least), I'm just saying it doesn't hurt.

As much as I agree on the fact that some commas here and there would be appreciated sometimes, don't forget that many users don't have engli… moresh as their first language. We shouldn't punish them just because they make a few mistakes sometimes, learning a new language can be hard and they should be encouraged instead. In my opinion, a reward for a good behaviour is more effective than a punishment for a bad one. Next time you spot a mistake you could gently explain to them how to correct themselves and, eventually, they won't make the same error again. You can even begin with me! I'm sure there is at least one mistake in that comment.
Tldr (come on, it's not that long): Don't be hard on some users because english may not be their first language. Try and learn mine and you will see that even with a goodwill, you're bound to make mistakes sometimes.

This one @papai46 for sure, he call me the one with shitty grammar... and they are more... instead of criticize us you should try to show us the correct way, if you feel intelligent and you are not that lazy.
I don't use the word "retard" when referring to people who are mentally handicapped nor do I use it for others who have a different opinion about something than mine, because it's incredibly offensive and distasteful; however, I have no qualms in using it when referring to assholes like the guy in the screenshot above who attempts to make me look stupid when he can't even do something as simple as using proper spelling and grammar. I don't do things based on what society says is okay or not. I'd rather be my own person than a sheep.
Seriously, all I was doing was trying to make a point about respect and proper grammar and all you care about is word that I used to help state it. Why? Are you actually that sensitive?
It's not offensive, but it just strikes me as a sign of unintelligent or laziness. I know I should try and look at it differently, but it's just a gut feeling and I wanted to know if anyone else felt that way.

The irony in that last line...

I had to learn it, now I forgot every word.
Lol I read it.
Buckley?
Oh my God...I'm not the only one?!
Lowkey.
When did you have to learn Latin? It's already difficult for me to learn English :P
Using that word... i'm not sure if you know but society said that isn't acceptable to use anymore.
In all honesty, I don't see why grammar is important as long as you can understand what someone is trying to say.
So?

Be civil please, papai. You don't want to get banned again.
