I recently played a game called Valiant Hearts. It's set during the Great War and is packed with cool historical tidbits and facts. I've alw… moreays loved history, so if you don't like learning about wars or anything you might want to steer clear. It follows the war journeys of several characters. It's a puzzle platformer. Overall it's a beautiful and very informative game. And it's free with PSN plus
If you want a surviving strategy game, then I would suggest This War of Mine. It has a great atmosphere and capture the sense of surviving in a cruel environment. Each survivor is unique with their own strength and weaknesses. Warning, the game does become rather easy once you get used to the gameplay.
If you want a simple strategy adventure game, then I would suggest FTL. It is about controlling a ship with your crew. At first look, the graphic aren't impressive. It is pixel. But the gameplay is addicting and filled with difficult choices that will either mean your salvation or your damnation
First, thanks for all the recommendations guys, it all looks pretty awesome. I noticed most of the games you guys are suggesting are on PC. I've never really been a PC gamer besides old WCIII a long time ago, and I've stuck with PS3 for a while now. Looks like I've been missing out somewhat. hm?

In New Vegas if someone pisses you off, you can straight up murder them. Fallout 3 has a lot of those characters that just go unconscous an… mored are immortal like Elder Scrolls games. It's a big factor to me between the two games. But then again, there are cazadores, and Fallout three has some much cooler locations.
Hm, depends on why video games have become boring to you. Is it because you always play the same triple-A games, and recognise they all use the same clichés and gameplay over and over again and don’t manage to impress you anymore, or is it because you don't really know what you're looking for in a video game and didn’t really find your favourite sort of game yet? And why am I getting so philosophical about it?
Let’s see... Fallout 3 and Red Dead Redemption ARE really good, so go and play it I give you one spoilerfree advice for Red Dead Redemption - after crossing the big river, don't whistle for your horse. Ruined a very popular video game moment for me and I only found out about it much later. Don't whistle for your horse, alright?
If you managed to evade all spoilers so far then Bioshock as well as Bioshock 2 would be a good choice.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution, probably, though I still didn’t finish it. I'm stuck in a brothel somewhere.
Not a fan, but Mass Effect is worth a try, like others already said. Also, Dragon Age Origins.
LA Noire
Alan Wake, but beware of crappy gameplay and partially wishy-washy story.
Also if you never played one before I guess Assassin’s Creed – the first one – is recommendable.
If you look for something different try Portal and Portal 2.
Maybe have a look at Shadow of the Colossus, many people either love it or hate it.
I heard Ori and the Blind Forest is a gem, but wait, you're looking for PS3 games, right?
Also Journey. Ever heard about it? I think everyone should play this.
Valkyria Chronicles
DAMN DARK HAIRS I AM A RACIST Against Hair color , not rly but its a joke if you played the gmae U WOULD KNOW THAT.
… more Synopsis: A make believe WW2 Scenario, with JRPG, Nostalgia. I love the artwork of this game, it is simply amazing.

If you haven't got this game, or played it, get the Steam Edition, it just was released recently for 20, best game i played all year other than GTA5.
I'd recommend checking out Army of Two: The 40th Day. It's a woefully underappreciated game with both great co-op and a surprisingly amazing… more AI partner that can more than hold their own in single-player. Plus the weapon customization is the most in depth and extensive of any game ever. And is infectiously addicting to master.
Definitely thinking about Dishonored and Deus Ex. I was so hyped for Dishonored when it first came out, then I forgot about it for some reason, i don't know why. :P

I liked the first Mass Effect a lot, definitely an experience - but 2 was dumbed down too much for me, so I just lost interest midway through. Still don't know about the infamous ending of 3, or maybe I heard and forgot it. Well, I spared the universe another evil dumbass Shepard playthrough, guess there are already enough out there.
Get Journey, it's unique - you can play it in one sitting, but it sticks in your memory for a long time - at least that's what happened to me. And it's a PS3 exclusive, you have to make use of that. :P
Definitely thinking about Deus Ex. I have Mass Effect 3, but I've only played online and it got boring kind of fast for me.
Dragon Age lo… moreoks incredible.
I tried Shadow of the Colossus for PS2 towards the end of it's lifespan, but I got bored fast. Guess I should try it again haha.
Journey looks...interesting to say the least.

Verdun
Insurgency
Fallout 3
Red Dead Redemption
Crusader Kings II
Mount and Blade: Warband
Rise of Nations
Europa Universalis 4
If you never played Dark Souls 2 Get that. If you can't handle the difficulty don't bother, because its a extremely hard game. I suffered through it, and ended up becoming a fan because of the epic music/fights story.
If you want to give indie games a shot I'll recommend Duskers, which is still in development right now. And full disclosure, I'm one of the audio guys, doing sound for it. Explore derelict ships, things hiding in the dark, has some cool strategy stuff.
I'm not fit for a battle, but ... but ... would you like to compare your stinky keyboard + the bread crumbs inside to my curvaceous and sexy PS3 controller?

If you've played the original Borderlands but not Borderlands 2, then you're really missing out. Borderlands 2 is one of the best games I've ever played and so damn fun imo.

If you enjoyed Final Fantasy X, you should check out its sequel Final Fantasy X-2. It's a more lighthearted romp through Spira.
Other than that, I'd recommend:
I've always heard good stuff about this game but I've never played it. Is it worth it?
I still can't believe how much the ending of this game made me cry.

I am more PC gamer than console gamer, but I am missing out as well.
Never played The Last of Us and Uncharted....(Sob..)
In my opinion it is.
Yes this was a big draw for me.
Being able to kill Caesar is just a really cool option.

Fuckin' Imps am I right?
You forgot my favorite game so I'll add it:
5.Mass Effect
L.A Noire
Bethesda Games: Fallout 3 and New Vegas as well as Elder Scrolls
Red Dead Redemption
Half Life 2
Batman Arkham Series
Actually, I forgot I have that game. Pretty fun times with my little brother back in the day
Definitely thinking about Dishonored and Deus Ex. I was so hyped for Dishonored when it first came out, then I forgot about it for some reason, i don't know why. :P

That artwork looks pretty dang gorgeous. Looks interesting.
I got the Dishonored bundle with all the DLC. It's probably one of my favorite games that I've played in the last few years.

I'm in.
PS3MasterRace
Oh yeah, Red Dead. Open world with never a dull moment. Even picking weeds (for weapons & health stuff) was fun.
I've only played New Vegas and never felt lost in the storyline. Amazing game, lots of subplots, weapons, creatures.
Would you like to compare my PC gameplay to your PS3 Gameplay of GTA5
It was a lot of fun having big gun fights with other crews too. Just a very good game all around.
Its a war love story
The game is hard, but awesome at the same time.

Well i actually use my XBOX PC controller, but if you want you can use a PS4 controller. I'm not sure about PS3
I'm not fit for a battle, but ... but ... would you like to compare your stinky keyboard + the bread crumbs inside to my curvaceous and sexy PS3 controller?
Which if you let sit without touching it for a while will have really greasy toggles.
Yeah? So ... my PS3 makes a nice and ambient buzzing sound ... and... I said I'm not fit for a battle.
At least nobody will take it away from you if you leave your grease marks on it.
Lol, true. I haven't touched my ps3 in a long time, so the toggles are a bit grotty.
Metro2033
Bioshock (all games)
Skyrim
Alice in Wonderland
One of the best games ever imo
