Back when I had a PS2...
I have my playstation 2 at the age of seven or eight. I enjoyed the games and I have a lot of great times with it.
But...
Everything I turn my PS2 on, the intro scream happen. The intro screen started with a futuristic sound as you could see blue smokes and darkness along with some other colors. I don't know why, but every time I turn my console on, I am just dreading the moment as the screen suddenly pull toward the darkness.
On good days, nothing happens and I either get to play my game or edit my saves.
On bad days...This happens.
Every time this goddamn red screen appeared, I just feel my heart dying. The somber and haunting music that follows when this happen just scares the crap out of me. The haunting red eye at the center is like staring at the eye of hell. I usually play my PS2 when I am alone and every time this happen is just a nightmare and I just want to shut the console.
Even now, I still feel rather scared at looking at the PS2 red screen.
Anyway, just a little story that I wanted to tell, since I saw it on 9gag and I instantly remember my childhood fear.

Oh my god haha THIS SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME TOO
My PS2 never started right into the game (even when set to do so, for some reason) and would always go into the system menu. I'm so used to that start up that I was expecting to hear the additional ocean wave like sounds when it goes from the startup to the menu in that video.
Stop it! This is is how its supposed to be! Don't remind me. That terrified me when I was younger. >.<

Ah, I know what you're talking about. That sound was always comforting to me.
Mine was kind of wishy-washy. Sometimes it would go straight to game and sometimes it would go to the menu. I loved it anyway.
Them intros my childhood :'D
Back then on the ps2 you get complete games for a cheaper price which gets you a great challenge and a good length
Now you get expensive games cut into sections for dlc a four hours long with hardly any challenge now even microtransactions
Still have my PS2. I need something to play Persona, MX Unleashed and Tales of the Abyss on.
Ah, the PS2. One of the best (and THE biggest selling) console of all time.
The PS2... Ahh what now seems like the good old days of gaming. Unfortunately mine is gone but what I wouldn't give to see that PS2 loading screen on my TV again as I play GTA 3, Spyro or Crash Bandicoot. I miss those days
Best. Console. Ever. I still play my old games sometimes through PCSX 2 on PC, but it just isn't the same.
More than 155 million units sold world wide. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_million-selling_game_consoles#Home_game_consoles
No problem
I ran upstairs whenever I started mine XD
LMFAO
Damn, Playstation, you scary!
I had fucking nightmares because of this
The second I saw this Title, I was like:
This scared the shit outta me, That's why I can't stand Freddy's Jumpscare when the Power goes out, Because it's the same as this shit.
You fuck something Up, (The disk or the power) You Know the bad shit is coming, And when it comes you're just like:
I'll never forget that fucking Music that comes with it... I just recently got a New PS2, and I put in my Old, Old, Old Copy of Silent Hill 3, and That shit happened and I was Like, "THIS IS WAY SCARIER THAN THE GAME I WAS ABOUT TO PLAY" Seriously, This was the only flaw about PS2...
