I think they just meant Guillermo del Torro won't participate anymore. They wouldn't just cancel it and throw everything out of the window, am I right?

I don't have a PS4 yet, but I picked up the demo on PSN while I still can. If you don't own a PS4 either (or want to queue the demo online), you can add the demo to your account at the PSN store. The page for the US PlayStation demo is here.
Not really that surprised. It was a stupid idea anyways to have Kojima do Silent Hill. They need to bring back team Silent, and create another masterpiece like they did with SIlent Hill II.

MGS and Kojima were the only things keeping that company afloat, they are pretty much doomed now, such a shame though my favourite Konami franchise was always Castlevania, still it was inevitable that they would cancel this pretty stupid though considering the success of P.T.
I feel bad for Guillermo Del Toro though, he's been wanting to make a horror game for a while now and this is the second time he got cancelled, I hope he makes it next time.
I am super disappointed about this. I've been a fan of the early Silent Hill titles and I've just been waiting years for them to make a decent game like those ones again. The demo and trailer looked really promising and dude! Norman friggin Reedus, I'd of loved for him to be in a Silent Hill title! This sucks worse than frozen lakes!
May as well accept it, there's never going to be a decent Silent Hill title again
This can mean anything really, most likely it will be "Silent Hill" instead of "Silent Hills" again and just another flat rehash. But maybe someone jumps in and buys it off their hands, and manages to get Kojima and/or del Toro on the boat again. Yes, this is a totally realistic hope.
Doesn't surprise me. At least the series has finally been put out of its misery.
No they're just going to hire someone else to make it. Finally Konami got out of their head that Kojima is god's gift to gaming and dumped his ass. Silent Hill will never die as long as its profitable.
LOL. because he is god's gift to games, and no one else can create video games. I am so glad Kojima is gone, and i don't see why Konami can't make more metal Gears, they own the rights to the game.It is their game, it isn't Kojima's game.

Meh, not really. It was the horror, it just wasn't the same type of scary.
Kinda silly for me to judge it over this too, but it was point I was also getting fed up of the titles having another white male main lead in it. The last time there was a female protagonist was in Silent Hill 3 and that was years ago. Norman Reedus would've been an okay exception [and that's probably because I like his role in the TWD series] but heck, a black male/female protagonist in Silent Hill would be nice change for once.
I guess what I mean is, if they ever do another Silent Hill, I wish they'd consider variety, or that they had done so before the plug got pulled.
I've heard that The franchise is over too. so... there's that.
Rumors are always true. Konami can tell Kojima to F off, they didn't have to cancel that game, maybe they didn't like the idea of it, and it was Kojima's idea. I personally didn't like the design of the game, i just played shattered memories, and i don't want to play a silent hill game in first person, where you don't fight/kill anything. I hate games like that, unless its its done exceptionally well, IE Anmesia.
You know how many awesome Silent Hill Fan Fics there are of people writing their own stories? Endless.
I liked the main story, as a man i could really understand Murphy, and i could understand his pain. I lost my brother to a violent crime, and the guy got away with it. I probably would of killed Napier too, and ended up in prison just like Murphy.
The problem i had with Silent hill Downpour was the horrible frame rate, along with the standard monsters. I felt homecoming had a better monster selection, other than the stereotypical dog monster. The music was hit/miss some tracks were amazing, others sounded like you were waiting in a St. Louis Bus Station. The side quests felt extremely pointless, to the point of not wanting to do them, and i remember avoiding the sewers like a plague , because they were too complicated.

Welp that's a shame. All we got was a neat demo out of this and some trailers that mean nothing now(good thing it was free hurr hurr). Like with many things Silent Hill it'll remain just a good memory.
Mainstream horror games are dead. If it isn't Resident Evil becoming more idiotic with each iteration and furthering the gunplay making it an action franchise rather than a well paced horror game, it's Dead Space 3 putting in tons of micro transactions and having a co-op mode.
And then we have Five Nights At Freddy's using nothing but loud sounds and jump scares to perpetuate the thirteen year old market. Never again will we see something truly terrifying and interesting as Rule of Rose or the classic Silent Hills' again. It's just a bunch of fodder for lame imagery and nothing of substance to derive the experience.
D'oh well, When's Mirror's Edge 2 or Rise Of the Tomb Raider coming out?
It wasn't meant to mean the entire Silent Hill series, it was referring to the one that was in development with Norman Reedus in it. I wasn't trying to say that the series as a whole is done for.
Well, right now they say "We will continue to develop the Silent Hill series".

Officially? Well, fuck. It looked promising.
Darylllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
FUCK
Fuck! I was actually interested in that game, so this bites.
WOW

R.I.P Konami - It used to make games that didn't have the words Metal or Gear.
Nope, Norman Reedus confirmed it too. They're pulling the teaser from PSN soon.
I keep pretending it's not cancelled until we get an official statement.
Norman Reedus tweets on Silent Hills cancellation

Pity, this could've been the first Silent Hill(s) game I would've actually considered buying for myself.
We have, though.
I was expecting some actual information in the post, but okay.

What?! No, no, noooooooooooo! Dammit Konami!
Bull-fucking-horse-shit.
I think you meant to say frickin', Bill.

But this one looked like it was going to be amazing
Damn Konami what happen?
Such a shame...
The series was great. After 5 it began going down hill, I still liked 5 tho.
I also heard the franchise is going down with it. No more SH games afterwards. but hey, Fucking COD gets a new damn game...
I've heard that The franchise is over too. so... there's that.
Ffs why? -.- I was looking forward to this game, it looked promising.
