Well not really but try to think of anything that Konami has made in recent years that didn't involve Kojima in some way, they basically shot themselves in the foot, and they've already done Metal Gear without Kojima it was called Portable Ops and it was pretty bad, in addition to that Konami hasn't marketed anything well in recent years, so yeah losing Kojima which is a gigantic buzz word is kind off a big deal, considering everything Konami has done in recent years it's safe to say they were already going down and Kojima leaving pretty much puts the final nail in the coffin.
they are pretty much doomed now,
LOL. because he is god's gift to games, and no one else can create video games. I am so glad Kojim… morea is gone, and i don't see why Konami can't make more metal Gears, they own the rights to the game.It is their game, it isn't Kojima's game.
I haven't played the title, I've only seen gameplay and reviews and from those it just didn't interest me. It's hard to explain but the style is just too Western film, rather than carrying that look the earlier games had.
I'm sorry about your brother I could understand that feeling.
I liked the main story, as a man i could really understand Murphy, and i could understand his pain. I lost my brother to a violent crime, a… morend the guy got away with it. I probably would of killed Napier too, and ended up in prison just like Murphy.
The problem i had with Silent hill Downpour was the horrible frame rate, along with the standard monsters. I felt homecoming had a better monster selection, other than the stereotypical dog monster. The music was hit/miss some tracks were amazing, others sounded like you were waiting in a St. Louis Bus Station. The side quests felt extremely pointless, to the point of not wanting to do them, and i remember avoiding the sewers like a plague , because they were too complicated.
I kinda knew it was going to happen. But least the series is still alive, because i think they are planning other titles, from what I have read anyway.

My favorite is two or zero. Both were pretty psychologically scary. They don't make games like that anymore unfortunately. I loved how dark Zero was at the end. If you never played that one, i recommend it.

Yeah because Kojima is the only person capable of making a Good Silent Hill Game? Putting him in charge of the series, was a mistake to begin with. I guarantee Konami will get Team Silent or someone just as good for the sequels, you know how much money Konami has? How much money do you think they will make when Metal Gear comes out.
You mean Silent Hill Origins? That was the recent one I liked despite the problems I had with it like Travis's battle to move his head Batman style. But Silent Hill 2 & 3 were my favorites. I thought they did those games very well. And still prefer the original voice actors I might add, that redub was an insult, it didn't need fixing.

Considering everything Konami has done in recent years it's safe to say they were already going down
Castlevania LOS
MGS Demo
MGS new one. A betcha this one will sell at least 200 million copies, at sixty dollars a piece.
Doubt it seriously. I would love the opportunity to write a silent Hill Story. I am sure there are tons of talented people out there, who would do it out of sheer love of the franchise.

Well just so you know Konami is actually restructuring right now and are actually considering dropping or minimizing their video-game department, look I'm not pulling this out of my ass, Konami's game division hasn't been doing very well for a while, they slowly decreased the games they made each year until they were down to 1 or 2 and their PR has been legendarily bad for a while, therefore Kojima leaving is a pretty big deal for Konami right now, especially considering that their games division has been on the decline (Profits wise) for a while.
Doesn't help that all those things you just listed were Kojima production which doesn't exist anymore, not because those are the only things they made but because they are the only things people heard about because everything else they did wasn't marketed well.

I see. But we still don't know if we ever get this game the demo raised our hopes for. If this actor won't be in it, who cares? And Kojima isn't vital either. Konami has the rights and the concept on it's desk, they just need someone to develop it.
It wasn't meant to mean the entire Silent Hill series, it was referring to the one that was in development with Norman Reedus in it. I wasn't trying to say that the series as a whole is done for.
I grew up on the original, so hearing the dub just sounded fake when comparing them. With the original, it feels more like they're real people and not actors.
Troy and Laura do good jobs as James and Angela, but I just prefer the originals x_x and some of the other voices they chose for the other characters like Maria/Mary are terrible. The redubs they did on Heather and the detective in Silent Hill 3 when compared to their original counterparts, just don't work. That and as a whole the HD ended up having fog and texture issues people weren't happy with. I still have my original copies of the games and I'm quite happy to stick with them T.T
I hear ya. The originals sounded fantastic, soooo awkward and strange the way they talked. It really fit the Silent Hill theme. Sadly I only played that HD version, but still found the game incredible and you can switch VAs at any time.

Yesh you can, although I hear that isn't so for the Silent Hill 3. Have you heard the original voices for that title? o.o

I found PT to be as boring as shattered Hill Shattered Memories. I don't want to play a Silent Hill game where i don't kill things, and that was the impression PT gave me.
I figured it was going to be like the demo, so i wasn't really thrilled with PE either. To me Silent Hill should be about psychological terror, not cheap scares, but to each their own.
I am with GOUSTTTT here. Silent Hill is a game where it scares you psychologically, you don't have to kill anything to fell the fear. That's why P.T and Shattered Memories were such great games.
You know this is good news for fans of Resident Evil. I personally think Kojima is an arrogant, egotistical human being with a god complex with the most mark fan base ever however I can't blame him for leaving this sinking ship.

I watched the trailer again and... damn, losing that game... it sucks! What a shame to lose such a promising title. People who played P.T. was f---ing lucky. I didn't, I just watched videos about it on YouTube. I was going to buy a PS4 just for this game... sigh... And there's this petition. You know I really don't put a lot of faith in this petitions but, if Norman's himself shared this petition on his Facebook and Twitter account, s**t just got real. Worth a try I suppose. Here's a link to the petition just in case; https://www.change.org/p/kojima-productions-continue-working-on-silent-hills
Just find comfort in the fact that it's likely Kojima and DelToro will go to a different publisher and use a lot of the ideas they had for Silent Hills in a new horror game, so we're likely to get this game at some point, it just won't be called Silent Hills.
If Konami isn't interested, I'm sure some other publisher will gladly bankroll it.
no one will hire Kojima ever again. He would have to start his own company. He could kickstart something, but finding a company to back him after his departure from Konami.

I liked Travis because he was a serial killer and didn't know it, he has DID. IMO he is the first creation of Pyramid head.

Fuck redubs.

Redub for SH2. Troy Baker and Laura Bailey (Rhys and Fiona) were the VAs for that one. Oh well, a gig is a gig.

And Five Nights at Freddy's gets another sequel.
My faith in humanity dies even more every day.
Yes I've heard, but never played it through with their original voices. Didn't stop me from loving it though.

i've never played any of those games. They already have four of them.

I liked homecoming better.
You don't have the original Game? I never really cared for Silent Hill 3 as much as most people.
Guys they started a petition to finish Silent Hills!

This, I enjoyed how Shattered Memories played so differently. Sadly, it's the only "newer" game that I actually like.
Damn you beat me to it!
I love that in such a short amount of time we have gotten so many signatures
Aww yeah.
We will make this happen.
Now it's just the waiting game.....

I saw this on Tumblr and thought of you guys.

There was a game here. It's gone now.
