But there is! I can't do it. I mean I guess I can but I don't know if I should. I really want too. Maybe I will soon but id have to think about it. Fuck I hate my indeciveness.
Cum there isn't pronounced like come, its closer to coom.....if you put 'cum' between 2 words and hypenate it it means that its what someone has become from what they were.
So like....'baseball player-cum-soldier' for a baseball player who's become a soldier.
Its sorta prepositional sorta adverbial.
It might be spelled 'come' but I'm transliterating it from welsh, and I think cum would be right.
I've gotten banned on here twice.
Once during a mental breakdown where I decided to take it out on the Minecraft game.
A second one du… morering...I wouldn't call it another mental breakdown but I wasn't thinking clearly that night. I got in an argument, it just kept going and one thing led to another and three people were banned.
I get banned for an extremely short time but with this place being a very big safe haven for me it can become extremely hard to deal with it. Although when I'm in my right mind, I'm not usually a dick. :P
You know what I'm currently pissed off about, these riots in Baltimore. I refuse to call these protests, these are the furthest thing from i… moret. These thugs are rioting in the streets, looting stores, setting cars on fire, and it gets NOTHING accomplished. The family of Freddie Gray called for peaceful protests, this is the furthest thing from that. These assholes (pardon my language) are rioting to riot, that's it, and it needs to stop. Where is the black leadership calling for this behavior to stop? We saw this in Ferguson months ago, now we're seeing it in one of America's major cities, when are people going to learn that rioting doesn't do shit to help your cause, it only hurts it.
There are upsides and downsides of volunteer moderation.
But as companies grow bigger, official representation becomes more important. I can see how having fan-cum-moderators would be appealing for a quasi-indie developer.

I.. uh... was wondering about that myself. I thought you had just been using multiple prefixes.

It's pronounced exactly like cum in this video:
I won't name names but a few circumstances I remember were:
Sending a threatening PM to a forum bully - 3 months
Exposing corruption of a youtube account- a couple months
Very heated arguments seem to get some forum members a week-long ban

Ignoring the fact that discussing user bans is against forum guidelines, I don't think vague descriptors will be very helpful as they don't illuminate all of the reasoning - including information we moderators know that we won't disclose for privacy reasons, such as ban history or other incriminating factors.
To answer Flog's question about ban duration, we tend to ban longer for offenses based on the severity of what they did, how much they target a user (or group of users), amount of previous warnings, and their ban history. In addition to that, we also look for other things such as if they are using alternate accounts. Again, it goes into a lot of information we won't disclose on a case-by-case basis for privacy concerns for the people who report something and the people who receive our punishment.

It isn't, actually:
4.3 Please refrain from talking about banned members or their ban reasons "behind their back" during a timeout.
This is me asking the banned users themselves for the information, so there's no discussion behind their back, nor is this taking place during a timeout.

I'm not necessarily in a position to say this, but I would at least suggest that you actually include the guidelines you want people to follow in the guidelines section.
I read all the rules when I came here, and have been following them pretty much exactly. Knowing I should instead have been following other rules in addition to those listed is confusing, but as I say that is just a suggestion.

If I gave a detailed explanation for each ban and what happened, I'm basically bending over for the banhammer myself. I purposely made the description vague, as well as not naming any names. It's a bit harsh to cite that rule when you admit I was very vague and because of the fact I made it anonymous. I think this whole discussion has to do with the confusion surrounding the duration of bans and what the offense is. Some people get pretty harsh bans and others basically get a slap on the wrist, and not all of them are seen as fair.

I'll see if we can't try to fix and clarify some of the ambiguity regarding the phrasing of certain forum guidelines. If you have confusion about any more of the guidelines, I can try to bring those up too. Feedback like this actually is helpful to us. Puzzlebox wrote the guidelines I believe, but as I said, I'll see if we can't update them some.

As Blind Sniper said, we try to keep the guidelines updated to reflect new situations, but guidelines/rules aren't always going to cover every situation that comes up. That's why we have rule
4.1 Ignoring the forum guidelines or warnings from moderators may result in a forum member being temporarily banned (duration to be at the mod or admin's discretion). During such a timeout, all games purchased from the Telltale online store by the banned member will remain intact and can still be played.

I see. I just misunderstood as I thought the ambiguity was just due to that being all you could remember and not a deliberate attempt to stay within the forum guidelines. Still, I think the ambiguity won't help but I now understand your reasoning. I wasn't citing the guideline to be rude, I was just giving a heads up so apologies if that came off as such.
Some people get pretty harsh bans and others basically get a slap on the wrist, and not all of them are seen as fair.
As I said with Flog61, I consider feedback to be helpful and I'm always ears if you guys have suggestions for something we need to improve on. If you guys ever want to PM me with feedback/etc, I try to be friendly and easy to approach. We currently go on a case-by-case basis for ban duration given everything I said above, but from what you guys are saying, it sounds like our ban length decisions can be confusing sometimes on the outside. I can try to see if we can improve the consistency of how we handle bans.

No. Spoil the kid! Give him all your games. And a pony. He defiantly needs a pony. Then he can be a pretty princess. And princesses never act entitled so all your problems will be solved.

There's the Telltale forum guidelines and the Telltale Terms of Use. There are no additional sets of rules beyond that. It probably would be helpful though to add the terms of use link to the forum guidelines. Since those guidelines can only be changed by Telltale staff, I'll bring that suggestion up.
We don't ban anyone who hasn't violated any of those rules, and we discuss bans among each other (and among the Telltale staff, as they occasionally have made bans or made suggestions on bans, so even though the volunteer moderators have no inside knowledge or direct connection to Telltale, we're not completely autonomous) when any ban is made, to try to ensure that the ban and the ban time is fair.
As Blind Sniper says, bans are made based on the severity of the offense made and whatever prior warnings and bans a user has made. For instance, someone who posts pornography will almost always be permabanned (unless it was by a long term user with no prior problems, who posted it as a joke, then they'll just get a long ban), people who harass or insult people will usually be warned, and then given a small ban time (unless, on the rare case it's a lot of people harassing people all at once, and then we might give very short bans without warning), and people who continue harassing people after being banned will be banned longer. If they keep it up after being banned, we'll usually give them another chance by banning them even longer.
We very rarely permaban anyone. There are countless threads among the moderators where we talk about wanting to give someone another chance, despite multiple warnings and previous bans. I remember how awful it felt when I had to permanently ban an actual person for the first time, rather than a spambot. No one likes to issue a permaban. That's definitely the number one drawback of being a volunteer moderator.

If someone made a donation as a birthday gift to me, I'd be more than happy.
By the way, your story is an exact replica of an episode from a local sitcom I used to watch.
New VENT TIME,
Yesterday i went over my sister's house. Every time i go over there, my nephew is always staring at his ipad or some other… more piece of technology. I try to talk to him, and he ignores me. The anger starts to build, the house keeper tells me not to be so critical of him. At this point i am a little steamed, and i think to myself, who are you to tell me how to treat my nephew. Eventually my sister comes back downstairs, with the paperwork, i came over to sign, and i sign the paperwork, and as i am about to leave he shows me a game i let him borrow, now he declares i gave it to him.
I never said he could keep it, and i told him that. My sister took his side, which i knew she would. At this point i knew it was done, i knew i wouldn't get that game back so i left. God these children are so entitled. I declared at that moment he would never get another gift he wants from me, no games, no toys, nothing. I plan on getting hi… [view original content]

Baltimore
Definitely worth watching. This guy hit the nail on the head.
A day or two for about both of them. I'm glad the Mods weren't too hard on me for it but they gave me time to calm down.
Ah ok.
I need some people who've been banned for over 5 days to tell me why their ban occurred. I'll do some searching.
Un-cum-fortable.
I explain it above, it's not that oblique a phrase.

Yeah, I just read it. I just wanted an excuse to use this picture
I.. uh... was wondering about that myself. I thought you had just been using multiple prefixes.
Exposing the corruption of a youtube account?
Can you explain that to me in a PM? I'm really curious. (I don't want names)
May I ask what you're exactly doing with this information? (I'm curious)
Thanks very much!
How threatening was the PM?

May I ask one thing? Can you be banned over a comment you've made that was 30 days old?
I can't see why not, unless it was something extremely minor.
Depends on the context and how bad the post was, I suppose.
