Your favorite video game opening.

  • Fallout 1 and MGS1 immediately spring to mind here. So damn memorable.

Also, if it counts, MGS3's Virtuous Mission was a helluva introduction/opening to the game. But yeah, don't think it meets the standards you specified.

  • You're not alone. DS2 intro is breath-taking and I love both games. For me it's the most intense game series out there.

  • I love BioShock! You also beat me to it.

All of this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uumf9anB7Hk And all of this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CB1gExtKJJI Irrational Games (now extinct) makes superb introductions. EDIT: Apparently people don't like Bioshock in here.

  • The game is so super frustrating, but what sold the game for me was the story, how mysterious it was, and how it wasn't told to you, you had to kind of figure things out on your own. Even though i hated dying one billion times, i loved the game.

  • Yes, exactly. I can only feel sorry for those who accused Dark Souls of having a thin and wishy-washy story. And for me it's immense level of difficulty just added to the experience. It would lose a lot of the mysterious and dark feel if we could just stroll through the world hack'n'slay style and pwn the enemies with our flashy skills.

Hahahaha...you know what is funny, last month I bought Shadow The Hedgehog again for my old xbox just because I remember how badass was the opening. :)

You took my favorite opening, lol. I can't think of any other one other than Shadow the Hedgehog's opening. I loved that opening as a kid,

  • I played kingdom hearts when I was a kid everyday and I was really obsessed... And than the wait of KH3 also lessened my interest somewhat, but I just want it and see how the Xehanort Saga Ends

Another fan here. When I was a kid, I was rather obsessed with the game. The years of waiting for KH3 has lessened my interest somewhat, but I am still interested to see the end of Xehanort Saga

  • I played it when I was little... NEVER FORGET KH

Episode 2's intro was the greatest...

  • That is why i love you.

    I LOVE Dark Souls.

  • I loved the story, so much. It made you think, it made you want to know more about ie. lost sinner. Who was she, why was she there. I spent hours doing research on the internet to learn her true name. This game was my first introduction into the series, so i didn't really know what to expect. I won't lie, I suffered immensely in this game. i yelled at Dark Souls 2 , i insulted it, i called it names, I smashed one Xbox controller in a rage, however the game was so amazing, its story was so subtle, but beautiful.

I am so incredibly happy that each episode has a different song and credit sequence, it's an element of the Borderlands series I love and really sets the tone in a really hip way. :)

Oh man, You're Not There is so awesome. It sets such an emotional tone for the rest of the game, and really conveys a lot about the themes of SH3.

Love as a drug is such potent symbolism in rock music, and Yamaoka totally gets it right here.

Silent Hill, Splinter Cell 3, and Silent Hill 3 have my Vote here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eds1ivwq1oc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjTjKMADKE0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wz3ufaZCoVw

It's not an opening sequence, but I loved how Alan Wake bookended each 'episode' with end credit sequences with amazingly moody music. This one's my favorite, due in no small part to how much I love The Black Angels.

  • This comment is exactly how I feel about anything ever. :) I think you and I are gonna get along quite Nicely!
