  • In my country, I can apparently buy Witcher 2:Assassins of Kings for like 5 dollars if I buy Witcher 3 on PC.

    I won't miss this opportunity.

Oh boi, Geralt looks so old. He is 100 years old though.

  • In the meantime, you can ignore these guys as well. Reviewer claimed the game has bad combat and he had to lower the difficulty because of it, amongst other silly things he mentioned due to his incompetence.

Polygon reviewed the game. Complained about how they couldn't find any "people of color"... Erm... Yeah, let's just ignore them.

  • Apparently Max Payne 3 on PC has an even bigger game size than that. Then you have the typical MMO's on the comp too, of course.

Currently in the middle of pre-installing the game. 21,3 GB is the largest size I have ever seen in a game.

  • As a little appreciation for you guys keeping this thread afloat for quite some time, I made a countdown regarding The Witcher 3's release! So I'll include it here and in the OP above.

  • My reaction: Why is she taking her clothes off? Oh Geralt that's why... oh wait... she's a monster.

  • I have been replaying The Witcher 2 in preparation for The Witcher 3. A thought occurs to me when Triss offered to find the Rose of Resemblance. Considering how Phillipa used the rose to control Saskia, is it possible that Triss intended to do the same to Geralt?

  • Hey, does anyone here know how much the expansion pass will cost separately?

  • About 25€ I think.

Hey, does anyone here know how much the expansion pass will cost separately?

  • That's an interesting point since Triss does tend to hide things from Geralt I'd say... maybe.

I would love to get this game, but I'm quite sure it won't run on my laptop, though it's puzzling me why. I went onto system req labs, ran a test and it doesn't meet the minimum specs required to run the game. Yet I can run Dragon Age Inquisition at 1920 x 1080 and with settings on high. (Apparently, on the Dragon Age Inquisition page, I only get 50% pass on the Minimum spec 'pie chart', so I'm not sure why I can run it at the specs I do according to that site)

    http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/the-witcher-3-wild-hunt/12446/?p=a

    My current specs are:

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4710MQ CPU @2.50ghz 2.50ghz

    8 GB Ram

Nvidia Geforce GTX 860m (Pixel and vertex shader requirements are at 5.0, which I meet. Required ram is 1.5gb, and I have 4.1gb on the card yet I fail the test as I do for the processor.)

Anyway, I'm aware of the 30 day money back guarantee, but I don't want to risk not getting a refund and taking advantage of their good will by getting multiple refunds, with getting a refund for Baldur's Gate 2 a few weeks back due to it only playing in a small box (which might stop me getting a refund for the witcher 3 if they keep tabs, should it not work)

Anyhow, just puzzled how I don't meet the minimum specs, yet I can run Dragon Age at quite high settings. Don't have a console for it either, nor the money, though there's a few good deals. Ps4 for £299.99 with The Witcher 3, 500 gb (one with Bloodborne as well for £319.99)

  • They downgraded the game though.

You mean the system reqs might not be accurate on that site, or? I hope that's the case, but £36 odd is too much to take a chance on really. :( (They're the same as on gog.com)

  • Dragon Age: Inquisition had AMD quad core CPU @ 2.5 GHz, Intel quad core CPU @ 2.0 GHz; 4 GB RAM, Win 7 or 8, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT and 26 GB of free disc space, and those are reccomended requirements, not the minimum. I'd say you should be able to run Witcher 3 - after they downgraded it - on the lowest/medium settings or at least try to. You can always have your money back, I've heard gog.com is pretty reliable.

  • Yeah they are, and that's what makes me tempted to risk it. The refund thing. It's just that with requesting a refund a few weeks back, I figured they might not be as keen. Probably a stupid thing to do, but I emailed their support about it. (It's funny my specs are nowhere near the recommended requirements for Dragon Age. ;) http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/dragon-age-inquisition/12360/?p=a)

  • I'm currently watching playthroughs of this game. Some youtuber's got it early. I'm not spoiling it though. I will say that in my opinion the art, world, and characters are beautiful, but the story so far is decent. I haven't played any Whitcher games so I wouldn't know anyway lol

  • I'm getting the game tomorrow, I can't fucking wait.

  • I heard Tywin's in it :3

    I'm a gamer it's kinda my thing

  • It's after you leave the prologue area I believe. I just imported my file directly, so it skipped it.

Immensely enjoying The Witcher 3 and I hope you guys enjoy it as well. I have a question to ask though.

If you save Triss by the end of Witcher 2, will the mages and other "freaks" still be persecuted at Novigrad?

Can anybody answer something for me as well? So I've been really enjoying the witcher 3 and have been exploring Velen for awhile, but there is just so much side content and stuff to do in Velen by itself. Anyways my question is if I continue with the main story will I miss out/fail on the side quests in Velen or do they stay there even after you leave? (I really want to continue the main story and meet up with Triss.)

  • This is me during the whole Velen act.

Alright, let's get this story done so I can meet Triss. Oooh this story is interesting! I'm gonna do that. Alright, back to Tri-...Gosh this one is interesting too! Alr-...Hello Keira, your story is awesome too. Shall we have dinner?

Gosh...the amount of content is insane.

  • I came back to Velen after I met Triss, so I guess you can finish side quests after you leave a certain area. Open world rules.
