  • So anybody know how to get some good Gwent cards? I actually really enjoy the mini card game, but I can't for the life of me even beat the Baron lol.

I don't know for certain, but seeing as its such a major part of the plot I would have to assume yes, they would.

    SPOILER

I sent Triss away on the boat, is she gone for good? I
didn't think she would just vanish lol

Immensely enjoying The Witcher 3 and I hope you guys enjoy it as well. I have a question to ask though. If you save Triss by the end of Witcher 2, will the mages and other "freaks" still be persecuted at Novigrad?

I love the game! I hope they release a mobile version so I can play it on the go. As for getting cards? Play the innkeepers and blacksmiths and traders and such. They don't give you great cards, but they give you good enough cards to beat the people with great cards (er, eventually. I played the same person 20 times or so before finally winning and getting my first hero card).

  • Grr I failed to get the card from the Baron. I screwed up and accidentally went too far in that questline. Oh well I guess. Hopefully I didn't miss out on anything big.

  • The Witcher 3 is hot, hot, hot!

Exactly like my PC when I try to run it.

  • So... I've met Roche a few times now, but still no sign of Iorweth and it looks like he won't appear at all. Not that I complain much (team Roche!), but it's quite unfair.

  • Haha,

  • Finally got the game earlier today, and no doubt it stays true to most of the praise it's been getting! The only complaints I have about it so far is how Geralt loses an unnecessary amount of health when falling from a low height, as well as how awkward the swimming and horse mechanics feel. I'll get used to it, though.

  • Maybe it mostly matters on the choices you pick during Geralt's shave? I have yet to see Roche or Iorveth (if he is even in the game) in my playthrough, however.

  • Man I love the game but the small text is kind of annoying (I think they said they will patch it though) and I hate the swimming. Don't get me wrong I like finding the buried treasure, but the swimming mechanics suck expecially when trying to get away from Drowners. Also trying to get back on the boat p*sses me off lol.

  • Oh man, I bet I'll feel the same way about the boat like you. I can imagine my rage already, lol.

Yeah, even gathering items from a chest/container underwater feels awkward as well - for me, that is.

  • I'm so glad I recently built a new PC. I can run it on ultra!

  • I'm jealous. I'm playing on PS4 and it looks amazing. I can hardly imagine it on ultra on PC.

    Ignore this. Found her lol

  • My god, this game is an emotional rollercoaster for a book reader.

  • I'm sure it is, I'm not far in the game but I already teared up during Priscilla's ballad.

  • I didn't even read the books and I kind of got emotional when Geralt saw Dudu transform into you know who. It's one of the very rare times Geralt actually showed some emotion and sadness.

That was one of them...but just wait till you get further in. :O

  • I know it's immature, but am I the only one that giggles a little bit when someone says/mentions Dudu?

  • If your willing to come to Australia, then sure.

  • How does rewarding the books make the game more emotional? Honestly interested, since I plan on reading the books here soon.

  • Drinking with boys at Kaer Morhen is the greatest thing that ever happened to me.

  • Well, you'll understand the characters more, their motivations, relationships, you'll pick up on some of the more subtle references...really, a lot of it will just be more impactful, as TW3 really feels like a sequel and finale to the past two games AND the books.

  • God yes.

    "It sounds like...a wounded wyvern!"

    "We missed a fight!"

  • I understand the relationships and motivations thing. To be quite honest the whole "Must find psuedo-daughter" storyline didn't have much of an impact on me at all considering I had no knowledge of the story before Wild Hunt, so I've had to fill in the base motivations for myself, which is fine but I feel it would be much better to know the back story.

As for it being a finale for the game and books? Well obviously it would feel like a finale for the games, since it's the finale for the games. But how does it feel like a finale for the books? Aren't they not canon? I thought the books ended on a vastly different note and couldn't tie in with the games?

  • The books take place before the games, and are canon. The ending of the final book is shown in a flashback in TW2, in fact. TW3 brings back a lot of characters from the books and ties up/alludes to some plot threads that have been left in the air since the books, basically.

  • Well that makes it even more interesting, and worse. Now I really need to consider putting WH on pause and reading/playing everything else lol...

  • Roche truly knows how to warm my heart. When I first met him, he call Geralt his old friend and after I complete his quest, he gave him a good firm bro handshake. :)

  • Damn you man, this song is so beautiful I want to read spoilers so much.

  • Is that an ending where she dies?

  • No, it's the reunion. There's more to it. You'll see. :S

Is that an ending where she dies?

  • Don't do it. Experience it yourself. It's probably the most beautiful moment in any game I've played. :')
