For fucks sake, a proper spoiler tag would be nice, mister!

SPOILER Your Ciri not make it?

  • Well, just finished Yennifer's Last Wish quest. I feel terrible for breaking up with her....

  • She will arrive later, just wait for it.

  • This is exactly how I wanted it to end (exept with Triss, not Yennefer) but instead I got the saddest ending ever. First it was about Geralt telling Ciri how much they will have to do, where they will go and what amazing things they'll see together. He was even laughing, for fuck's sake. I don't remember Geralt being as happy as he was back there. And then they see Nilfgaard soldiers and Ciri tells Geralt she don't want to stay with him and she decided to be an empress. And she just left Geralt with her sword in his hands.

I don't quite understand what choices the endings are based on, I don't know what made Ciri to decide that way. I have to admit, I'm pissed.

  • She did, but what happened is even worse.

Oh. That's not quite the 'worst' ending in the game by any means. I'd say that's the bittersweet ending. I believe the main prerequisite for that is taking Ciri to see her father.

In the worst one, Ciri dies, and Geralt is implied to be essentially committing suicide via running into hordes and hordes of monsters, attacking the last remaining crone for the wolf medallion she stole from Ciri.

    "You are afraid...you feel fear..."

"You lie. I don't feel a thing anymore."

So...be glad you didn't get that ending at least. :S

  • I did it too, but for me it was a relief.

Well, just finished Yennifer's Last Wish quest. I feel terrible for breaking up with her....

  • I got that ending. Really liked it actually, despite how sad it was, it's actually my favorite of the three. Not too happy about Ciri becoming empress, but the scene where they say goodbye is just so well written.

  • Actually at this point I'd rather have Ciri dead as a result of my actions, than something such unfair and shocking as Ciri leaving Geralt for position and power. In this ending is a constant stream helplessness which is worse than her dying. She literally just walk away, like fuck you Geralt. "I wish to change anything, I cannot do so hunting monsters round forgotten villages like you do." I knew I shouldn't take her to Emhyr.

  • It is, but I dunno. I feel like I screwed something up, like I accidentally sentenced Ciri to live in the tangle of the palace intrigues for the rest of her life, to lie, deceive and conspire, and ended up assasinate by some fanatic or one of the enemies that Nilfgaard has.

I got that ending. Really liked it actually, despite how sad it was, it's actually my favorite of the three. Not too happy about Ciri becoming empress, but the scene where they say goodbye is just so well written.

  • Well there is a few different endings so you had to assume she could possibly die in an ending. :P

  • Man I'm having such a hard time choosing between her and Triss lol

Well, just finished Yennifer's Last Wish quest. I feel terrible for breaking up with her....

  • So who did you guys make King of Temeria your ending? I haven't got that far yet, but I'm not afeard of spoilers :). I'm leaning towards siding with Dijkstra.

  • Nilfgaard won the war in my game, although I probably would've gone with Dijkstra if he hadn't...well, you'll see.

  • Radovid is dead, Temeria is restored, Nilfgaard wins the war for me.

And correction, it's not the King of Temeria you're choosing. Djikstra and Radovid are for Redania, Temeria doesn't even exist anymore at the time.

  • You can take Ciri to see her father and still get the "together" ending, but yes not taking her eliminates the "Ciri leaves" ending.

  • Anybody get the best video game glitch ever yet? Lol. I'm at the part of the game where you sneak into Erimon's lab at the Wake and I chose the option "Damn I want to kiss you" and then I did the sex scene with Yen (which is awesome) and after that cutscene they show another cutscene of Yen and Geralt walking back to the wake and Yennefer was still fully nude xD Best glitch ever.

  • Lol the horned horse... that made me laugh.

  • I got the absolute BEST ending! A strong 8.5/10 game. First time I will honestly attempt to play a game like this through again because it was that good, and I want to see one of the other endings. (The third I'll likely just watch on YouTube, I can't imagine playing it for a third time.) Such a good story and strong characters.

  • The reunion really made me teary...This game is soo good!

  • Man there is simply too much to do lol

  • Yen is da best :D

Well, just finished Yennifer's Last Wish quest. I feel terrible for breaking up with her....

  • When he first finds Ciri?

The reunion really made me teary...This game is soo good!

  • The Wild Hunt was great, but I still think the previous game was better in terms of storyline and characters.

  • Man, I couldn't disagree more. TW3 had me so much more attached to the cast than the previous games, and the more personal story resonated with me much more than the others.

IMO, I really think it may be the most beautiful moment of any game I've played. :')

  • I guess it's just personal preference, both games are easily 10/10 though.

8.5/10? Very good scored, great even. But I think that's still a little low. I'd give it a solid 9.5/10 excellent game though I don't see me replaying anytime soon because of how big the game is lol.

  • I can't really judge effectively seeing as I've not played the others, but this game was amazing. So much so that I plan on reading all of the books and playing the previous games. If it's true what Sergeant says and this game has a much more personal story line then it will still probably be my favorite of the games, because that's my favorite kind of story (I love putting myself in he shoes of a person on a deeply sentimental quest). Which pervious installment was your favorite? (Book (I think you said you had ready them) and game wise, and which was your least favorite?)

  • I don't give out scores very nicely. For instance Halo, one of my favorite series of all time, ranges in the 6-8s between games, so an 8.5 is extremely high for me.

My second play through will likely take me weeks to finish, because I cannot invest the time like I did the first time around, I'm already behind on a lot of things :p

  • Well it's hard to choose one because it all create one consistent storyline - with a few years' gap between the books and games - but I'm the person who would always prefer literature over the extras based on it; I loved the originality of the witcher's world, this kind of restoration of Slavic mythology which is rather forgotten nowadays. However the games are great in its own way, their story takes place long after the books' plot and almost nothing have to be canon, meaning the players have the freedom of choice and the game is full of the little details/characters/places from witcher's universe.

If I had to choose the book, it would be a collection of short stories about Geralt's adventures: The Last Wish and The Sword of Destiny. My favourite story is "The Limits of Possibility" about a dragon and how Geralt and Yennefer tried to hunt it down.
Favourite game is the second one, I've never felt so into a game ever before I played the Assassin of Kings, the Roche-Iorweth conflict was so exciting that I've spent dozens of hours on playing. And it was just the beginning of the game. Not to mention that the game has 6 or 7 endings.

My least fav would be probably the first game because of terrible combat system that ruined the atmosphere for me. But I know some people who still think it was the best of the whole Witcher series. It's just a matter of taste really.

I recommend you to read two first books, short stories are easy to read.

  • Did you guys know that the lady who sings "The Wolven Storm" aka Priscilla's Ballad, sung it in both Polish and English version? I was hella suprised when I found out.

    Polish:

    English:

I finally heard it after I've listened it 4680000 times.

I assume most of you play the game in English, but which version of this song do you prefer?

  • I just need to locate the books and short stories, which is proving much more of a hassle than I would have thought (I want to get them all at once, and all in the same context (since it's translated I want it all from the same translator, and I want it to be a good translation to begin with)).

But I digress. I can't wait to see the rest of the Witcher world.

  • Well, I got the Empress Ciri ending. Bittersweet, but I think it is a good ending. it has the message that sometimes you have to let your children go and allow them to be independent. Also, my Geralt gets to retire to Kovir with Triss, which sounds like a peaceful and steady life.

By the way, does anyone know how to get Witcher Ciri ending?

Yes, first Ciri must live (a given).

Next, at minimum, one of the following 3 must occure:

    1. King Radovid lives.

    2. You side against Roche after the plot to kill Radovid unfolds.

    3. You do not take Ciri to see her father.

I got the witcher Ciri ending and it was perfect!

  • What is your opinion of Radovid? In my opinion, he was a badass king. Sure, he became crazy, paranoid and a racist toward mages, but he was the last Northern king and managed to fight Nillfgard to a standstill and potentially win the war.
