Splitting a subforum for "franchise talk"?

I'm personally talking regarding Game of Thrones, but I guess this applies to every recent or upcoming game except Minecraft.

I have a very hard time avoiding season 5 spoilers for GoT here. I won't be able to see S5 until the blu-ray arrives, so that will be until the end of February probably. Since I own the game's season pass, and have played all the game episodes, I feel I have legitimate reason to be here though.. Warning in titles aren't always clear ("Tyrion decision next episode" for example, is technically ambiguous), and they've been appearing in threads which are game-related (have you noticed things thread for example). I don't come here often, but I like to hang around here after playing each episode to read people's thoughts, but avoiding the spoilers is getting annoying.

So I want to ask if there's any more interest in subforums for all games where it applies, for "franchise specific talk", where people can discuss things happening in the books or TV show or other games (in the case of Borderlands), that haven't been directly adressed in the Telltale game, and ban all discussion of these things in the general thread.

I think everyone(myself included) just needs to make better use of the spoiler tag. I usually assume people have been watching season 5, And sometimes I mention things from the books that haven't happened or happened differently in the show. Maybe I'll just start putting a spoiler tag on everything GoT related.

*Actually, a subforum might work fine. I belive TWD used to have a similar subforum but I might be remembering wrong.

I disagree, people just need to despoilerify their titles with asterisks, and think when making them "Hmm, if I didn't want spoilers, would this title spoil me?". I also think spoiler tags on threads are satan and should never be used. Ever. If there is one thing I could obliterate from existence, it would be thread spoiler tags, because when they get long enough and I want to find a comment, it brings me all the way to the bottom of the page and I'd have to scroll all the way up to open up the thread cause of the spoiler tag. Fuck spoiler tags on threads again because they're stupid.

  • What should be done away with is this forum layout. The spoiler tags are needed even if people blank out their thread titles. What needs to happen is PERMANENT opening of spoilered discussions so you don't have to open them each time you look at a page. Along with a litany of other changes that should have been done a long time ago.

So apparently I'm the only one affected by this.
I just read a TV spoiler in a thread with a title clearly referring to the game:

I'll just have to stop coming here I guess.

    Edit:

PuhChewyChomp is right though, this forum is extremely annoying, and should be replaced with something more conventional / updated features.

That thread had a spoiler tag labeling Season 5, did it not?

  • It did, but since the title was referring to the game, I clicked on it thinking it would actually be about the game. I missed the note that said it was actually about the TV series.
