Penny Dreadful fans shoutout (may contain some spoilers)

Just wanted to ask out loud, any "Penny Dreadful" TV series fans around here?
I know Hazza (a.k.a. HazzatheMan) is one since we both talked about it a bit couple of months ago (you watching Season 2 Hazza?) and wanted to know whether there are others as well.
I am really pleased with Season 2, and can't wait to see next week's episode "Little Scorpion"!!!

I love this show, I've been watching since it began. I like to call it Penny Pornful.

What the hell man, I said I love this show and have been watching since the very beginning. I then made a joke about calling it Penny Pornful because of all the nudity, but I guess you either don't have English as a first language or that you can't recognize a playful joke. There was no need to be hostile to a fellow fan and the only other comment on this thread
Lol, I do recognize a good joke when I see one. And that "playful" joke you're referring to wasn't really funny at all.
In fact, no offense, but it looked pretty immature.
And personally, I'd rather have no comments on this thread than have jokes like you've just commented with.
What I wanted to discuss with fans were plots and where the story may take towards the upcoming episodes and the characters etc.... I guess you were thinking something different when you were commenting.
Love this series! Haven't watched too far into Season 2 yet, but I will catch up soon...

I was really surprised with this show when it first came out, especially by the cast (specifically Eva Green, who is an incredible actress). Pretty much everything but the storyline was great, though. At least with this second season there's more exposition to be had with Ms. Poole and her henchwomen and figuring out what story the "fallen one" is trying to tell through the ages.
It's funny to me that Ms. Poole looks on her actions in anticipation of receiving a reward; does anyone else think living forever with eternal youth is just a transfer of a curse from that supernatural being to her?
I was only trying to be friendly, but I guess I was wasting it on someone too straight-faced and condescending to appreciate it. After I read your rude comment, I told other people the nickname and they found it funny. Like seriously, it's a joke about the show's title and the amount of nudity. You must be fun at parties.

Season 2 is great!! And Ethan plays even a bigger part in it (with the whole Lupus Dei thing).
And yes, Ethan is the best, him and Vanessa are my favourite characters of the series (and they get even closer in Episode 7!).
He hate you because you're beautiful and smart, but he's unshaven and look pretty ugly, that why he say you have weird taste... you'll need to stop shave and let your fur to grow. It's a joke, please don't have me.
His interactions with Vanessa were great. Would be interesting to see his reaction when he finds out Victor and Lily are together...
Eva Green is generally great in majority of things she does, but her performance in Season 1 when she was possessed was just brilliant.
The group is still trying to process the "autobiography" of the devil, so it would be interesting to see where that goes.
In terms of the reward, maybe in fact it is actually a curse, but it sure looks like Ms. Poole (or as I like to call her Madame Kali) doesn't see it that way - maybe similar to how Dorian is (since Dorian can never age or die as long as his portrait is intact and not destroyed).

Awesome!! Vanessa and Ethan get closer starting from Episode 5, and oh boy, I can't wait for you to see Episode 6.

I'm guessing you saw the Ethan and Sembene scene in Episode 6 (at the end) then? What did you think of that scene? Personally, I loved it

By the way, what were your favourite moments of Episode 4?
Mine were Vanessa and Victor's scene at the lady's dress shop, and Ethan seeing through Hecate's lies in the cafe.

I liked how they camouflaged themselves with the walls, but also how Ethan could smell that something was off, just a little reminder that he is not human :P
Oh yeah, Ethan thinking Hecate was a Pinkerton agent was priceless! And Victor is so awkward in that scene, I love how Vanessa just plays with him the whole time XD
Yeah, after that whole attack on the mansion, you'll see Ethan be more involved in the group's (particularly Vanessa) protection, and Vanessa and Ethan will have another one of those moments together (though I won't spoil it for you).
Kinda laughed when Hecate used her actual name in front of Ethan (she must be a total amateur at the whole "trick your enemy/espionage thing") and kinda Lol'ed at the whole "Hecate Aphrodite Livingston" name.
Though Ethan was wrong about Hecate being a Pinkerton agent, him not trusting her easily just shows he's got good sense and intelligence.
Victor looking awkward was base of what made the Victor and Vanessa scene look good, but I think Vanessa's expressions (when she first is at the shop front door with Victor, teasing her throughout to the "undergarments" scene).
It was a good episode, and I enjoyed it.

What do you think of the Detective that is tracking the murders? He seems to be a broad minded person...
Yeah, Logan said there would be Ethan's backstory episode this Season (like Vanessa's backstory with mina last season and her cut-wife episode this season, and Hartnett did confirm it), but there is just so many side stories unresolved, I do wonder if that is even possible (and I'm speaking as someone who's watched till episode 6).
Yup the bitch failed (and Ethan smelled her so....). I'm kinda looking forward to seeing Ethan's dad in his flashback episode. From what we know (from Ethan's words and Pinkerton guys), he seems to be a pretty powerful figure of authority (maybe someone of pretty high social status?), though I could be wrong.

Detective Rusk is not only broad, but pretty sharp-minded individual (as you'll find out in Episodes 5 and 6), and his interactions are mainly with Roper (the Pinkerton guy) and Ethan.
Ethan's backstory will be cool to watch, tbh I wanna see more of him this Season, we are once again focusing on Vanessa too much. We already did that with her last Season, move Ethan into the spotlight now...
Ethan doesn't seem like a stupid or lower class man, so I can only assume his Father is a man of money and possibly power as well. Still, why does he want Ethan back so badly???
Victor is a genius, but a socially awkward one :P Vanessa is just awesome.
Hmmm, interesting. Perhaps he has some secrets of his own... Do we learn more of his dodgy arm?
They already spent an entire Episode on Vanessa's time on the Moors with the Cut-wife. While I love Vanessa, I agree, that episode just took too much space of storyline.
As of Episode 6, there are the following plotline still to resolve (I hope the below titles are not spoilers for you):
And all above is excluding Ethan's backstory. Has me quite concerned to be honest, that the last couple of episodes will be rushed (there are 10 episodes for this season), or too many storylines left unresolved

I remember one imdb member coming to Penny Dreadful forum ranting in rage because The Following got canceled but Penny Dreadful didn't.
No idea, It got a third Season though... Need to watch that too :P

It's pathetic, and The Following should've been cancelled after the first Season. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't believable at all!
