If The Wolf Among Us Season 2 isn't confirmed by 2016...
If The Wolf Among Us Season 2 isn't confirmed by 2016 do you think another video game studio should create a game or a TV Network = HBO or Showtime should create an animated version or a live-action series based on Bill Willingham's Fables comic book series? And I'm not talking about another studio creating a Wolf Among Us like telltale, I'm talking about a video game series or an animated series or a live-action series that is a direct adaptation of the Fables comic. I would definitely love to see a direct adaptation of the Fables comic. Telltale has already done but to see the beautiful art of the Fables comic come to life again, figuratively and I think it'd be a great alternative for the fans, and newcomers alike.
Don't get me wrong I love Telltale's The Wolf Among Us but so much has been changed from the comics (For example: Boy Blue wasn't in the office like he should) and I can't give you the statistics An episodic animated series or a live-action series or video game series that mirrors the comics much more closer than Telltale's The Wolf Among Us could be a great way to get newcomers of the series up to speed with the comic book readers, and quite frankly you could arguably get away with so much more with an animated series. Believe me I've seen insanely violent and gory anime. I think the whole series would do well in an animated format.
A concern might be where will they air such a violent series well they could always utilize Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime and get the show to air on one of those platforms, if not all 3. Fables revolves around VERY adult themes (Use of Tobacco and Alcohol, Blood and Gore, Sexual Themes, Intense Violence, Strong Language, Partial Nudity, Drug Reference and a lot more) and as such, the show deserves a cable release so that nothing feels like it’s being held back because of censors.
If they created a live-action series or an animated version it would work best with the 10-13 episode format of HBO or Showtime. The runtime would be 45-60 minutes per episode. Lots of room for the world and stories to breath and feel almost like mini-movies. With fewer episodes comes bigger episode budgets. Not having to travel like Game of Thrones would allow the effects and other production aspects to be polished more.
I'd love to see comics come to life in it's complete entirety in some form, just in my honest opinion I think an animated series or a game is the way to go if they want to get a direct comic adaptation done right. I'd rather watch the animated version or live-action or play the game than read the comic book.
What do you guys think? Discuss this down below.
Note: I'm NOT saying The Wolf Among Us is bad because It's not. I give it a solid 10/10

I'd gladly take both TWAU Season 2 and a TV show about Fables
This issue has been talked about before - everyone would like to see a TV show, but it's far from happening. Fables is not a very famous trademark, plus, as you stated, there's a lot of violence.
Despite these things, I personally don't understand why aren't they creating it. Seems like America still can't get enough of all the fairy tale stuff, with the new adaptations coming out every year for a while now. This should be a gold mine. Just give it to the HBO and they will make it work!
But, as I said before, it's far from happening. Many reasons stand in the way, and the only thing we can do is wait. If it depended on me, I'd force people to start working on this right now! Sadly, it doesn't depend on me
Atleast a movie is being created
I don't think a lot of violence would actually matter on HBO. Look at Game of Thrones, that show has rape, uncensored sex and nudity, strong violence and gore, profanity, alcohol/drugs/smoking, and frightening/intense scenes.
Fables deserves to be a television series preferably on HBO. It's so interesting and amazing. Fables television show > Fables movie. Fables is one of the only comic book series' I read that would work well on TV because it's already more episodic than other comics.
I think the chances for a TV show happening are slim because the Fables comics will be ending this year so the franchise is currently being looked down upon as a dying franchise that isn't worth investing in (especially compared to all the ongoing franchises).
But there is a movie that has been in the works for years and it looks like its still going to happen so who knows what will happen in the future.
THIS ^
Is an Internet's response :P
Come into the circle of agreement (whether there is a pun there or not I leave to your twisted minds XD).
HBO doing a Fables series would make my head explode from too much excitement
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I dislike direct adaptations. I've already read the comics, so let's see something new. Either expand the universe like TWAU did, or change things up enough to justify the show's existence. I guess it's nice for people who don't like reading comics, but would enjoy the story. But I'm selfish, and I seriously don't understand why anyone who has read the comics would want a direct adaptation. Give me something new. All these reboots and remakes are getting in the way of new stories.
Finding out that not only will we get a Season 2 but an awesome show on the Wolf
My body is already prepared, Senpai Bigby. Bring us the good news soon.
Too bad we're getting a game about Michonne's past...
Bloody hell
SAY WUT?! :O
Is that what TWD Season 3 is gonna be about?!?! (I haven't looked up anything to do with that game...)
Nope, it's the new DLC.
For Season 2?
... Aaawwweeesssooommmeee >:D
Yup, it's the new DLC for Season 2 of TWD. I don't get what's so awesome about it though?
Dude. It's Michonne!! XD
Did you not see the video College Humour did on YouTube? There was one segment where Glen says to Maggie "Hey, Michonne's really drunk and about to reveal her entire backstory to us!" to which Maggie replies "Sweet!"
Michonne begins with "My story begins on July 3rd, July 3rd 1753" (or something like that lol) and Glen/Maggie are both like "Oh my God!!!"
Lol sorry, I'm just excited now
To be honest, I'm disappointed. They could come up with something original, but now they're taking something from the TV show. Plus Michonne isn't that good of a character - she was fine at first, but in the latest seasons she became a traditional cliche character.
Also, instead of working on TWAU Season 2 or atleast MC, they're working on Michonne DLC? Seriously?
I don't think she has become cliché, she's still her own unique self imo
Well, it has been well over a year since TWD S2 was started, and nearly a year since it ended, so if they are working on it, then MAYBE they are working on TWAU as well
I highly doubt it. TWAU is dead, and TTG seem to do their best to avoid the sequel. Nothing excites me nowadays, only the Season 2 of Wolf could bring back hype to my life. I'm probably going to play the Michonne DLC but it's not something super appealing to me. Wolf for life!
Huff and Puff
There is a comic version of The Wolf Among Us, so it seems as if the chances of a second TellTale season are officially null. Sorry for the bad news...
Officially null? I don't see anything anywhere about TWAU S2 being 'officially' anything, confirmed OR cancelled. The comic is going a different route than the game is, but that doesn't mean that Season 2 won't happen!
The comic better ties into Fables than the game does, but the game was a big success and has a lot of die-hard fans. I'm not completely disagreeing with you because at this rate, I have lost a lot of hope in Season 2 being announced, but until the very end of this year, I will hold onto the tiniest spark of hope...
Huff and Puff
Man, I hope guys get it. At this rate though, TWAU: Season 2 is the Half Life 2: Episode 3 of TellTale, except TellTale never teased you about a continuation nor did the leave you with a severe cliffhanger. But you get my point. I like Wolf, so if it does happen, I'll be back on this side of the forums.
Don't you say that... DON'T YOU SAY IT! XD
The comic is just an adaptation of the series that has already been finished. It not an official anything, especially not an end to the possibility of a second season. For me, its helping to keep my interest in a second season going.e
what do you mean by that?
(22:30) Job Stauffer knows.....Telltale "The Walking Dead, Marvel and more" E3 Chat With Job Stauffer and Greg Miller
There is a comic adaptation of the first season of TWAU.
Sam & Max season three ended on a hook for a potential fourth series as well.
True.
Although I don't entirely see the end of season one as a hook for a second season. As it has a fairly standard noir ending the detective is posed one final question and realises the answer just as the credits roll.
