I am hyped. Dishonored is one of my favorite games. I hope they keep non-lethal since that was my favorite way of playing (although i think im the only one who prefers it)
Harvey Smith said that you'll play the first 30 minutes of the game as Emily, but then there will be a decision on whether you keep playing as Emily or switch to Corvo.
I'm excited but I'm wondering what does picking one character mean for the other?
For example: if I picked Emily would Corvo still have a role in the story?
I know extreme amounts of Dishonored lore, AMA if you want to know more about the lore before we all enjoy what is undoubtedly going to be a great game.

I don't think so it's pretty clear that Corvo and the empress were lovers but they've intentionally left it a bit ambiguous on whether he's Emily's biological father.
That's why he probably marked them, their destinies are bound together or they have a bigger role in something and outsider wanted them to meet so all that stuff that has happened would happen and something... I have no clue anymore
Yes, they were lovers. In the 2nd Day, Month of Rain, but they kept it a secret because having the Royal Protector as a love interest is slightly frowned on in Dunwall. It is also confirmed that Corvo is Emily's father.

Just finished the first game on high chaos even let emily fall before going back and saving her.
I was playing kind of stealthy but in the mansion mission I just snapped and then ran through most of the levels killing everyone, It shook the game up a bit for me and honestly made it more entertaining, sneaking and choking guard after guard did get kind of tiresome. The majority of the weapons you actually cant use if you're playing non violent
On your first playthrough of Dishonored 2 will you choose to play as Emily Kaldwin or Corvo Attano? http://strawpoll.me/4703504
Fun fact: Serkonos the setting of Dishonored 2 is Corvo's nation of origin so in a way Corvo is going home.
So, I guess Ill bring this thread back to life if anyone is still interested, but a ton of news dropped about Dishonored 2. First, It will release November 11th this year! Second, the first gameplay will be shown at E3, and finally, Game Informer has a whole site dedicated to providing updates, and exclusive details about the game until E3.

Sooo the endings to Dishonored have a full grown Emily paying respects to a deceased and buried Corvo. Are these endings thrown out or will the 2nd Dishonored story take place between this and that, I wonder?
Don't really get why we can choose between Emily and Corvo but guess that might make sense, excited to see how that might influence the story!
Definitely choosing Emily, can't wait for a whole new set of powers
Well apparently in the first mission you have to play as Emily, then you choose who you play as for the rest of the game, hopefully whoever you dont choose doesn't die because that would just suck, maybe injured badly or captured.
And yeah, Im guessing you can't switch because like you said, powering up powers would be more complicated if you could, not to mention they said that they are making actual skill trees.
Its 15 years after Emily is saved, they said that Corvo didn't kill Duad, and if I remember correctly Micheal Madison was announced with the official cast, so Id say its safe to say he will return too.

Sooo out of the 8 people the outsider marked 4 (Emily, Daud,Corvo and Delialah) met each other.........wow

I play perferably non-lethal.

I know it's heavily implied but is it ever actually confirmed that Corvo and the Empress were lovers?
I can't wait for Dishonored 2. By the way, has it been confirmed that Emily is Corvo's daughter?

How and when is it confirmed?
The Dunwall Archives mentions it once or twice, and there is an audiograph in Dunwall Tower where Jessamine herself mentions it.
Yes, the devs themselves said that Corvo is Emily's father. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=graFZSsis0s&feature=youtu.be&t=6710 Skip to 1:51:50 for the interview.
I think granny rags is also a chosen now that i think about it so that would be 5 out of 8
I killed her. Lmao
She i s the only person i 100% WOULD have killed but i was going for "clean hands" aka the you litteraly killed no one achivement
I killed people but mainly went non lethal when I could. However, she was planning to eat the cool gang leader guy I liked so...Bye crazy woman.
Slackjaw! I loved that guy I was totally ready to kill Granny Rags to save him but I took her down with the sleep dart so yay! everyone lives.

I hope in the canon they chose Daud lived so we see him in Serkonos it would be interasting.

Sweeeeeet. I'm pumped.
Excited for the second game, did enjoy the first a lot

Definitely choosing Emily, can't wait for a whole new set of powers
Maybe with Corvo but I really can't see them killing Emily considering she's the heir to the throne

Dishonored 2 is 15 years later, the games cannon is Corvo got the low caos ending, and didn't kill Duad.
I dunno really, I'd prefer it swap between them throughout the game, there could be two simultaneous stories
I think that'd get annoying in terms of power progression

So... Should we gather for whiskey and cigars tonight?
15 year later from what? After you save Emily? Is Duad still alive? Or will he just never show up in the game? Sooo many questions!!

I'm so excited for this game, even though we know almost nothing about it.
That's true, maybe they could just sit on the sidelines.
Guys, Dishonored 2 gameplay trailer and demo. Watch them, then let's talk about them.
Its looking really good!
I kinda wish they showed some more action, I hope we can still swing our sword and not just do that lunge thing Emily was doing.
I'm excited for this.
