I'm not the biggest Rocky fan, but I did watch them all. I do like the first film quite a bit (although it has the typical 1970's film style of slow pacing, and since I grew up in the 1980's and 1990's, I'll admit that films of this era feel like they drag on a bit too much to me). The second one was pretty good (the whole I'm not champion until I actually beat Rocky worked well, and, being a history buff, I appreciated the Max Schmelling parallels), the third one was fun (I can't resist the antics of Mr. T). The fourth one is neat to watch for the Cold War rivalry that was still going on in the 1980s (it showed America's attitude towards the Russians at the time, with the cold-hearted do anything to win stereotype). I thought Rocky Balboa was pretty good too (what happened to Adrian was sad, but I thought they handled it well, and it worked for the script).
I really didn't like Rocky V though. They reset everyone in that movie for no real reason. Pauly was given some real character development in the sequels, and they just threw it away here by having him go back to being a gambling drunk, and he gambled all of Rocky's money away, resulting in Rocky and Adrian becoming poor again and moving back to their old neighborhood. On top of that, the final fight was a street fight, with no real reason to be fought, as there was no championship belt to win and no money to be made for Rocky, who really needed it at that point.
Creed does look like it could be good though. I'm glad that they decided to let someone else take the lead and have Sylvester Stallone take on a role similar to Mick from the first film. If they want to continue the series, that's definitely the right direction to take it.
Indeed u know sylvester stallone had the lead role for all the rocky movies so far so a change for once is refreshing
i love them all, i love rocky.
Rocky V has a good story but it is not executed well. I still like it tho.
I mostly agree with your statement about Rocky V. It shows us the bad side of boxing.
yeah thats why i really liked it, but didnt like it so much because it wasnt about Rocky the boxer anymore, i mean he still fought but it wasnt about the boxer. but it still was very good and i liked that very much that they showed the bad side of boxing
Street fight wasn't bad. For me it meant that if you be arrogant(Tommy) you'll get knocked on your ass. It was entertaining also.

i thought it was pretty good. MBJ was very soild, Stallone was great! fuck it i loved it. i love the end where they put the old music jaja made me smiled. i would've like someone else as the champion. maybe Ward because he is actually the better one... but i get why ward would want to be portrayed as defeated.

Whoops you meant the other Rocky.
Agreed! The last round music was an incredible remix of the good ol' Rocky theme. Good thing Sly won Best Supporting Actor Globe and is also Oscar-nominated for Creed.
Like the movies, and I'm currently really enjoying the Fight Night Champion game on the ps3. Hope they make another one, though considering how impressive it is, not sure how they could improve on it 'too much' for next gen, or rather 'current gen'. The UFC game by the same makers is pretty good, but . . . yeah, not sure how much a new boxing game can be improved.
When it comes to Rocky, I enjoy it like I said. Recently watched Creed as well. That was quite enjoyable, especially compared to one or two of the films in the series. I have a soft spot for Rocky 4 though, which I think some people don't like? Don't know why really, but I guess it's because I like Rocky beefing up to get revenge and the way the fight goes with the opponent pretty much being a monster.
Anyhow, I was in a game online and I asked someone what the famous Adrian line is from a few years ago. They didn't know. shakes head Youngsters these days. For me, the first film at the very least should be watched by everyone and youngsters don't even know what it is!
I should really check and see if they're making a Creed sequel too. Wonder if he'd fight the guy that knocked him out in the gym if they do . . .
Edit: And based on a quick google search, it seems they might be making a sequel. Certainly a few links anyway which I've not actually read yet.
