The Deep Web

Recently I watched Santoro's new video about creepy internet pages and heard about the deep web. I heard it there for the first time.

Have any of you actually been in the deep web, and what do you think about it? I want to see it for myself because I'm a curious person by nature but I'm a too afraid.

  • I saw Santoro's new video about the creepiest websites on the Internet too. I watched other videos about the deep web. I was thinking about going onto the deep web a few days ago but I didn't. I'm scared that someone is watching me and if I click on anything I will be tracked down.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. You should watch Takedownman on Youtube if you haven't already.

It's actually quite boring tbh. Just don't use that hitman shit, they're all feds. Also, most of tor's exit nodes are run by the feds that's how people get arrested for cp, brickabrack, and illegal bubblegum.

There's this anon confession game site that's kinda fun too. People post their nudes and confess they boinked their brothers, it's a laugh and a half.

  • So I just need Tor, right? And share if you have some funny or interesting links.

Yes! I'm gonna warn you that it might run slower than molasses in July sometimes.

Here's where you can get Tor: https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser.html.en

The urls are different looking but don't be scuurd. :)

  • When I accessed the deep web, all I saw were a bunch of biographies of child models and links to pornography which I didn't click.

  • I don't understand why doesn't the police shut them down. I know the everything is anonymus there but if they could shut down The Silk Road, they can probably do this too.

Is it just me or does this sound like urban legend? Especially the rates. Sure there are websites which try to hide themselves and plenty of people who mask their IP, but 96%? You would have thought people would have heard more specifics if it were so large. If the internet has proven anything, it's that people, given nearly infinite access to information that people 40 years ago couldn't even fathom, will ultimately use their newfound freedom to look a cats.

  • They actually have. However, they keep coming back. Also, there are countries where aren't any laws against it.

Yeah, it's kind of a fucked up place. Guns, slaves, drugs, live streams of people being tortured, fake ID's, hitmen, fucked up videos, more fucked up videos, child porn, you can hire hackers, sex slaves, even buy children, the list goes on and on.

  • Hmm....well I'm not in the military or police force, and I'm not a journalist or a whistleblower. I have no interest in buying drugs, weapons, or hitmen online, and I definitely am not interested in viewing child pornography. So why should I care?

I also highly doubt that 96% of the internet can't be accessed by conventional methods. That percentage seems really inflated. The iceberg depiction of the 96% to 4% difference also annoys me because the 4% isn't even a sliver like it should be (if the percentages were actually true). It looks more like 30%.

  • And it's probably worth noting that the "Dread Pirate Roberts" referenced in the graphic just got sentenced to life in prison today. None of the deep web is really quite as anonymous as advertised.

(This news is all over the place, but here's one example story link.)

  • thanks for this picture now i'm gonna buy me some drugs

Can you still get hacked even if you attempt to access a Deep Web link from a different browser that's can't access the Deep Web? Like are there people that can see the IP address of people who attempt to access their site?

  • Thanks, I've been looking to hire a hitman for a while now.

  • Someone please answer me.

  • I don't think any of us are experts.
