The Comic Con Thread

There's quite a few things going on at Comic Con, so I thought I'd make a post about it since I'm probably not the only person that's excited about it.

Here's what I'm most excited about:

Telltale is going to be talking more about The Walking Dead: Michonne at Comic Con, but what I'm most excited about is that they're finally going to reveal their first super show (which is a format where there is both a game season and a television show, and the television show will somehow be influenced by the majority choices of the game), as well as who their partner is in that venture, as they already stated it won't be Lionsgate.

So, what are you all excited for? :)

I'm moving this to another post, as it's making the first post of the topic cluttered. But, I'm also really excited for this :) (clicking on the image will take you to a landing site for the game, but there's nothing there yet except for the image and an option to sign up for a mailing list which will send you e-mail when more news is available).

  • I used to live in San Diego... never got to go. I'll be on the edge of my seat for the SuperShow info though!

Personally, I'm more excited for NYCC than SDCC, since it's a con I actually do attend.

Whereas I have lived in New York for all of my life (well, except for the few years I lived in California) and never went to the New York Comic Con.

I never went to the San Diego Comic Con either, although I did make it to E3 once, in 2002 when they were a lot stricter about who they let in and who was able to see what. I was able to get in because I wrote for a gaming website, but I was denied access to the LucasArts room, which was a huge bummer to me. Although, I did get to see the LucasArts anniversary video on the big screen in the lobby, which was cool.

  • I might actually have an extra 4-day pass for NYCC this year if I end up being a panelist. I don't want to scalp it but I do want to find it a good home.

  • Yeah, I'm also looking forward to some Super Show information! I wonder if they will talk about it during that Walking Dead panel or elsewhere?

I'm guessing that it will be during the Walking Dead panel as Kevin mentioned something about Super Show at SDCC during his E3 interview and the only Telltale related panel at SDCC is the Skybound one.

Unless Telltale pulls a surprise appearance at someone else's panel. If they do it at the Skybound panel, it would be weird as it's original IP, unless of course their partner in the television show is Skybound (which I guess could be a slight possibility maybe through AMC).

I was weirded out by that too at first, but Ozzy made a response to a previous post of mine speculating that Skybound would be Telltale's first Super Show partner and in retrospect, it makes sense. It would explain why they abruptly started talking about the Super Show during the Live E3 Michonne announcement, and why Kevin said he would reveal more about the Super Show at Comic Con while also saying that Michonne would be discussed there as well. In the interview, Kevin Bruner was even talking about how the inspiration for the Super Show concept came up during talks with Skybound about the Walking Dead games. As I said, I was confused like you were at first but it now makes sense.

  • I'm looking forward to TWD, but what I'm looking forward to the most is a behind the scenes look at Star Wars: The Force Awakens.. http://www.starwarsunderworld.com/2015/07/report-no-new-force-awakens-trailer-or.html,

  • I've always wanted to go to a Comic Con, never been able too though, since it's all the way in the US.

They didn't announce anything during the Michonne panel :(

It would explain why they abruptly started talking about the Super Show during the Live E3 Michonne announcement, and why Kevin said he would reveal more about the Super Show at Comic Con while also saying that Michonne would be discussed there as well.

Also during the interview David Alpert started saying that Kevin might have teased something like he knew more about Super Show but wasn't allowed to say anything which is why i thought it might be a Skybound deal, maybe they might announce something before or after the live performance panel?

Unless Telltale pulls a surprise appearance at someone else's panel. If they do it at the Skybound panel, it would be weird as it's original

  • I'm still with you in suspecting it is Skybound - I'm just drawing blanks as to when they could reveal it. On the bright side, we didn't have to find out about the Super Show's first IP over Twitter. :P

That'd be awesome if you did. I'd be more than willing to buy it at the regular ticket price. Sorry about the long time to reply, it's just that I'm going on a long road trip starting in August across the United States, Canada, and the safe parts of Mexico. I was trying to figure out how to work NYCC in if you do get an extra ticket (if not, definitely no biggie), and I figured I could hit northeast Canada first and swing back down for New York Comic Con in October. :D

  • I'll let you know. I was a finalist in the NYCC Eastern Championships of Cosplay last year and may be running a costuming panel this year. If I am, I have a spare badge. I'll be able to tell you next month.
