    Hypocrisy at it's best.

  • Haha. Mocking ignorant people is not the same thing as mocking gay people for who they are.

And yes, that comic was mocking the mom's ignorance, because she thought her son would ''become'' gay just by looking at them. And no, I'm not calling you ignorant or something like that, if you can relate to that comic, that's up to you. If you posted an ''anti gay comic'' you would be mocking them for who they are, it would be the same if you posted something mocking black people for being black, for example. But if you wanna do that, go ahead, you have the right to.

I wasn't offended . It's a joke . I'm annoyed that I couldn't get away with posting an anti gay comic . Because people would be offended .

  • Guys, please stay civil and on topic. You are welcome to constructively agree or disagree with something, but insulting and instigating others isn't ok. I'd prefer that homophobic/transphobic comments be avoided, but constructive disagreement is ok.

You inserted yourself to keep the argument going . And you've done that a few times.
You simply get off on drama .. fucking sad . I'm done . Calling a mod to clear this up .

If you only you didn't give a fuck about that comic, we wouldn't be in this conversation now would we?

  • Safety is important.

What, do you disagree? You gotta learn the basics early. In a country where people sue a company because their takeaway cup of coffee contained hot coffee.

Don't forget to push in! Safety is important.

Literally all comments you make are argument provoking, so I'd pipe down on the hypocritical statements there, Cope.

    how original.

Do you always unnecessarily bold/italicize your text as if it's working at getting your point across?

If you can't handle the truth, then don't go around saying the most obsurdity of bullshit.

  • Two things, one, it's called a joke.

Two, they are still learning safety and everything else, none of that is being replaced.

what exactly do they teach in these classes? that random people with black vans and weird smiles are not going to gift them candies no matter how much they say they will and things like that?

Well, the fact that health classes rarely teach much other than basic facts about everything...Hell, the only thing we learned in my health class was that sex can give you STDs and what kinds as well as things about drugs. They aren't really removing anything, just adding.

Way to go, stereotype the gay and trans community by calling them pedophiles.

I assume it's up to the discretion of the teacher. A curriculum is a list of topics that must be covered, and it's up to the teacher to allocate the time to cover everything. It's not like the board gives you a day-to-day itinerary. I remember a lot of class-time where the teacher would just give us time to work on what would normally be homework. Just replace some of that with the new material.

that kinda implies that they're either reducing some other part of the subject or... replacing some other part of the subject Well,

  • Obviously not, wow, are you seriously not getting this or are you trying to be funny?

They are teaching this stuff in middle school and up.

  • I thought we were talking about kindergarten. Do you have health classes in kindergarten that go beyond how to proper wash your hands before lunch? Wow, poor kiddos. I played Twister and Scrabble Junior all day.

Obviously not, wow, are you seriously not getting this or are you trying to be funny? They are teaching this stuff in middle school and up.

  • but that's the first time "middle school" has been written in this page, whereas kindergarten has ben written 2 other times while referring to when they'll start teaching these things

actually now that i re-read, the gender lessons are supposed to be put in FLE, not Health

I'm sorry, I always skipped joke classes in kindergarten. Hah.

Two, they are still learning safety and everything else, none of that is being replaced.

Either something gets replaced or kids have to stay there extra. Both is not good.

Well actually I took sarcasm class in Middle school and then Jokes in High school.

  • So you object to Cope's opinion? All I can say is, you're proving why society is still intolerant. We're just intolerant to different people now.

    TheCatWolf posted: »

From the moment you posted your opinion about that, you were willing to hear other people's opinion too, Cope. So I have the right to object too. Goodbye.

  • I'm just going to say this real quick because we are intolerant of ignorance of a subject.

You are not entitled to your opinion. You are entitled to your informed opinion. No one is entitled to be ignorant. From what I see, Cope's entire thing on this is that she either thinks it's sick or whatever and it's wrong to allow children the chance to hear the truth on it. She thinks that allowing parents to spread bigoted traditions onto the next generation is an okay thing to do even though the schools are offering a chance to educate children on other kinds of people in a good light to allow children to make a choice based off what they learn.

That just isn't right, it's not just okay to accept because if we don't then we're intolerant. We need to show that discrimination is something we can change by allowing children a chance to understand others.

So you object to Cope's opinion? All I can say is, you're proving why society is still intolerant. We're just intolerant to different people now.

  • It's times like this that I wonder if we really are a tolerant society, at all.

No, I object to ignorance. You probably haven't seen it, but she even compared homosexuality to cannibalism in the other thread. She can object to gay people for being gay, but I can't object to her opinion? lol

You think homosexuality is wrong? You have a reason to not support it? Great. But spreading ignorance it IS wrong. And Golden already said everything I wanted to say, so...

So you object to Cope's opinion? All I can say is, you're proving why society is still intolerant. We're just intolerant to different people now.

  • I'm okay with this. I think kids should learn about this kind of thing early on, and try and learn who they are with their Sexuality, Making it easier for them later on. My friends Andi and Jasper live in Virginia, I'm sure they'll be glad to know about this

  • Since when in the past 10 Years has It not been? Hell, I bet even the Canadians are laughing at us... Look at those bastards... Saying "Sorry" under their breath everytime they laugh.

This country will be the laughing stock of the world in a couple of years.

  • I have nothing against homosexuality. Do you know that Russia does the exact same shit you people are condoning? They block pro-gay speech, but you attack Cope for not liking homosexuality? It's his opinion, leave him the fuck alone.

Sometimes, I wonder if people here are any better than the homophobes out there. Now I you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go rant about this somewhere.

  • we're actually only tolerant to some kind of people

this is arguably good, arguably bad

we're not tolerant to neo nazi, as an example, and that's arguably bad because discourse breeds progress, arguably good because...well, they're nazi.

It's times like this that I wonder if we really are a tolerant society, at all.

  • ''Attack''. She has the right to be against homosexuality if she wants, but comparing homosexuality to fucking cannibalism? In the ''Should racist speech be tolerated?'' thread she said ''No . People who speak in such a way should have their eyes and tongues removed.'' Of course, racist speech is not okay for her, but homophobic speech is totally okay.

''I think homosexuality is wrong'' is different than ''I think homosexuality is wrong cause they're cannibals and they will make my children become too''

When she said ''So when they ask why do you object to the trans/gay/etc. How does it affect you'' she was referring to my post in the other thread when I asked how gay marriage was gonna affect straight people, and now she's acting like this is gonna affect her/her child. No, it's not gonna affect them. If she thinks that teaching children about that is gonna make them ''become'' gay, then she needs to do some research.

And do you see me objecting to other people who are against that (I just replied one more person because of one commentary I found funny)? No, there are a LOT of people in this thread who are against this gender identity curriculum, and they have the right to, but they're not making baseless assumptions like her. You don't wanna support gays? You don't need to, but don't compare it to something TOTALLY different.

And please, she even replied me a lot of times because she disagreed to a few things I said, and now she's the opressed victim? You'll excuse me too, I must say I'm already tired of this discussion.

I have nothing against homosexuality. Do you know that Russia does the exact same shit you people are condoning? They block pro-gay speech,
