Can any of you peeps help me find a decent drawing tablet?

So, does anyone know anything about drawing tablets? Trying to find one that won’t cost me a fortune and one that won’t break as soon as I plug it in, and of course one that isn’t complete shit. Any help would be appreciated.

I know someone who has some knowledge about some drawing tablets (he's trying to become an animator), I'll ask him about them.

  • Cool, Thanks

I'll ask him tomorrow since it's a bit late currently.

  • No problem. I'm in no rush.

  • You gonna make some heiroglyphs bruh?

  • I used to use a full model Intuous (the $1000 kind) because it was leftover from my parents office (they both worked in printing/ads/graphic design) eventually- and I mean ten years later- it finally got too old to use and I bought myself a cheap Bamboo tablet for $120. There's definately a difference between the two but the Bamboo is a great starter tablet IMHO.

  • I got u bruh.

    Wacom Intuos.

I've had it for a year now, hasn't broke on me yet. I don't think it's that expensive, I can't remember the price. You can get it in different sizes, also.

  • I own a Wacom Intuos and it's been really helpful for me to work on my laptop. The one I got was around a hundred bucks and it's been working for a long time so far. :3

  • Bamboo Tablet / Wacom Intuos

  • Wacom Intuos tablets are the best tablets. I've had one for 10 years now, still works wonderfully. I would suggest getting a small to a medium sized one if you're just starting out. Probably a small one would be best starting out, and then working you way up to bigger and better tablets.

What are you wanting to do though? I mean are you wanting to do digital painting, or making comics, etc?

  • Comics and doodle posts on my tumblr and junk. Nothing too serious yet.

  • Honestly, get a larger tablet in a cheaper line like Bamboo. That drawing space is too small.

So, I found this one. It's a Wacom Intuos. would this be a good drawing tablet? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/wacom-intuos-professional-pen-and-small-touch-tablet-black/1682531.p?id=1219059639314&skuId=1682531

  • You specifically want to look for the CTH 661; it'll run you less with a larger surface area.

wacom makes quality stuff (altho a bit pricey) as a beginner tablet that one should be ok (that's what i was told when i was looking for info on tablets)

check if that one gives you free software (mine had sketchbook, very solid program, very simple to use, very good for beginning)

  • I have the same one although mine was only $70. Mine wasn't the biggest one they had but its a good size nevertheless. I really recommend Wacom Intuos though. Ive had mine a while and I haven't had any problems with it.

  • iirc the Bamboo line was discontinued and has been replaced with the Intuos (just Intuos, Intuos Pro is a bit different) products at that price/quality range.
