The Walking dead game makes me sad when I play it.

When playing I got the message that always stay close to the one's you love because they may not be with you forever. Lee and Clementine are symbols of hope, love, friendship, and survival. there were many scenes in the game that made me sad. When Lily shot Carly I was shocked, upset, about to throw controller on floor, and cry. When Lee died that made me cry because It made me remember how I lost many people in my life. I was sad and wished they didn't pass but they in a good place now. This game also tells us be careful who you side with because they may not be who you think they are. Learn your enemies and friends. Don't expect to trust everyone...

The song Take Us Back always makes me cry too. The only games that seemed to make me sad was this game and The Last Of us. So many emotion scenes and event took place. Tale Tells deserves good rewards for this. If they can make the player cry and stuff that means they doing a great job. I can't wait till episode 2-5 comes out. The show also makes me sad too especially season 4 episode 8 I won't spoil though...

I know I'll get angry member comments for my thread but ole well. You can't expect everyone's threads to be A+. Everyone's different and has different opinions and stuff.

  • Great post, Jill.

  • I cannot even listen to the first 5 seconds of "Take Us Back" without getting all depressed and teary-eyed. Even thinking about it right now and typing this is making me sad :(

  • Cried at the ending too. This was the first game that I played that really impacted me.

The only times that I've cried because of ANY story were all in The Walking Dead. The first scene where I got teary eyed was Ducks death. The one quote that Kenny says still just depresses me whenever I think about it. "Can't we just, give him a pill or something so he can just drift off to sleep? I mean, christ, this is our SON." Also, "No, there ain't no way this world let's my son live when I helped put someone else's in the ground."

The second time, I didn't necessarily cry, but still, it affected me very much, was Ben's death in the Alley way. One, because of Kenny's sacrifice, two, because of the fact that Ben never got redemption. Those are the main reasons, but just everything about that scene is... Yeah.

And then of course, the end. I'm sure I don't need to say much about that. I will say that I had the end where Clementine shot Lee, and I wasn't really crying until the song "Take Us Back" started playing. I absolutely love that song, it's just fantastic in every way.

The other to scenes that affected me a lot, but not really in a sad way(well, kind of for the first), were Carley's death and the stitching scene in All That Remains.

  • That song has a very sad vibe to it. Personally, though, I think the lyrics are fucking atrociously terrible. Most of the lyrics are random bits of gibberish held together by a handful of meaningful verses and a catchy chorus. The high pitched but soft voice marks the most (and pretty much only) spectacular portion of the entire thing.

  • These are the points that got to me, too. Except replace the Ben scene with the Christa scene, and I DID cry during that. This game, man...

  • Yeah, this game is just a depress-fest. Amazing story and realistic characters, it really showed me what kind of a person I am in a moral sense and to appreciate the little things a lot more. Thanks Telltale for possibly my most favorite game of all time. Alt text

  • Hahahaha I had to stop at the baby teeth part. Lmfao....

That was bad, but lets be serious here... we shouldn't expect any better from the tv's TWD.

I liked this song the best out of S2E1. I think it sums up the episode if not the whole series feelings really well. Its a kind of variation of the main title theme as well. This song plays at the scene when Clem wakes up on the bank of the river after escaping Winston and is cold, hungry and on her own ("lost"). I also was a big fan of the quiet reflection scenes looking at the wrecked campground boat, grave and dead walker etc. I enjoyed it much better seeing the sadness on her face and knowing what she was thinking instead of some monologue spoken outloud.

Looking forward to hearing more of this type of music in the soundtrack and also more scenes that evoke those kinds of emotions again.

  • Dude, you should totally post this in TWD Music Appreciation Thread!

  • Umm... The lyrics made perfect sense. It was about wanting to go back to a better time. I'm not sure I quite understand how you think that they were "random bits of gibberish held together by a handful of meaningful verses and a catchy chorus".

  • I just noticed Clementine's theme is blended with it a little bit.

  • The song's lyrics have meaning, that's why they chose it for the game. It is about being in a better time in place with somebody. Possibly during a time of tragedy, the song is very serene, and sad, and the lyrics have meaning.
