I think it should be. I think it's Karma for the people they killed. In fact, kill them the way they killed there victims, that's real justi… morece. But I also believe not all killers are evil and it should be stricter. Someone who kills for vengeance is not nearly as bad as a serial killer who targets people with red hair. Yeah they're both premeditated but I'd sympathize much more with someone who killed out of revenge. Better example, what if someone kills your family? What if you kill them to avenge your family? These two killers are not equal but both will be charged with first degree murder since it's premeditated.
I'm going to get so much hate but I don't care.
I can't see how it's the right thing to do in any case. It's never going to prevent anything that throwing the man in prison can't prevent, right? It just looks to me like something that is attributed to medieval Europe and imperial China. And ISIS. It's just immoral and impotent, and I can't stand the thought of the person's family (especially his mother) having to live with it. Besides, I believe that many convicts can rehabilitate if they were just given a real chance.
I think that this habit is rooted in our lust for revenge, tribulation, barbaric values and primordial desires. Pardon my French, I forgot how to speak French :P
Why do certain punishments count as revenge and while others count as justice? Is it the tit-for-tat nature of it? If someone kidnaps another person and holds them prisoner for 25 years, would then sentencing that person to 25 years in prison count as revenge rather than justice?
To me, the distinction between justice and revenge really just comes down to who's carrying it out and for what motivation. If a brother breaks his sister's favorite toy and the sister then breaks her brother's toy to make herself feel better, that's revenge. But if the parent steps in and breaks the brother's toy out of fairness to the sister, then that's justice.

It sounds more like revenge to me.

I agree, and judges/prosectutors often do too. That's why aggravating and mitigating factors are weighed when handing down a sentence for murder.
I'm against it, I don't trust any government to always catch the right suspect and I don't think murder of innocents should ever be justified, a sacrifice of a single innocent person for even one million guilty people is not justified in my eyes and I'm pretty sure the numbers are way lower than that.
Besides I'm not really a believer of justice, what's important is keeping people safe not punishing the guilty.

I would rather die than spend my life in prison.
