Name the Movies You Hate But Everyone Else Seems to Like

  • The dark knight trilogy. I still loved Heath Ledger as the joker though.

  • Avatar. One of the most boring movies I've ever watched, when I talk about what I think about it everybody is like "Yeah, but the effects maaan, the effects" and they are right, the SE are good, but that's it.

  • The Dark Knight.

  • Fast and Furious 7. All it was was explosions and cars driving through buildings 100 feet in the air while getting out without a scratch.

Honestly the movie's saving grace (and I think is the reason I get chastised for saying I don't like it) is the Paul walker tribute.

I've been a huge cinema buff since I was a small boy. A great many films I have seen the good and the bad.

But the ones I can't stand or loathe:

The works of Michael Bay ESPECIALLY the Transformers films. (They could've been better if done by someone else)

Twilight and the Hunger Games (didn't get them then, don't get them now)

Frozen, such a simple film with a simple plot and many questionable things in the story, yet it's the most popular Disney film?

The SpongeBob Movies enter image description here

Tropic Thunder. What a waste of a film, plus being slightly autistic, the Simple Jack shtick I take to great offense.

    Also, Cameron's Titanic and Avatar.

Another grievance of mine, Dreamworks Animations Kung Fu Panda and HTTYD sagas. Ever since Monsters VS Aliens has been given little notice despite I feel it would/could be an interest franchise in it's own right if give the chance, I've become jealous and resentful of the titles mentioned. Saw the first films and was just: enter image description here

And Don't Get me started on Alien 3: ![enter image description here](https://media3.giphy.com/media/QPQT3vXtGGtzy/200_s.gif)

  • Yep.

I'm debating if I should see that. Not because I like Pixar (I don't), I just want to see Lewis Black go two hours without saying 'fuck.' It's like watching the old Thomas the Tank Engine when George Carlin was Mr. Conductor.

  • Aliens vs. Predator = popular? Never heard that...I thought everyone hated those two films. You would think two of the coolest sci-fi franchises of the last 40 years combined into one film would be amazing, but no...

The Matrix...I remember being annoyed with the cheesy fight scenes and endless talk about what the Matrix was. I went to band practice the next day, excited to tear the film apart--like we all want to do when we think we've seen something we KNOW is bad.

"Dude, I saw this movie The Matrix yesterday..."

"Didn't it just blow your mind?" The bassist asks.

    [Deflated] "Uh, yeah...it was OK."

    :)

  • Pretty much any of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. I hated Iron Man, Thor, and The Avengers. Then I pretty much stopped watching them until someone convinced me that Guardians of the Galaxy was worth watching. Surprise, surprise, I hated that one too.

It's not even that I dislike superhero movies or big dumb action movies. There's just something about the Marvel movies that bug me. I loved Nolan's Batman movies. I even liked the new Mad Max. I really can't put my finger on it. There's something about the tone. One minute they're joking around, the next they're super serious, then back to joking. I don't think the other movies I mentioned were quite as schizophrenic.

  • Yeah, I feel you're pain m'man. I loved the Alien and Predator creatures and after seeing the first AvP all those years ago, it was average at the least, yet I kidded myself thinking it was decent. Boy was I wrong. I prefer the first two Alien plus Prometheus and all three Predator films to these disappointing entries. And the Matrix, boy was it's life "like a candle in the wind". I thought the first one was "OK" as well. And now look at it's legacy.
The only thing I find memorable about the whole series was the Animatrix "Final Flight of the Osiris"

So, I feel you my friend.

  • I'd say the first season of Daredevil is worth watching. It is tied to the MCU and there are a few references but it's its own thing and if you love the Nolan Batman movies, you might enjoy Netflix Daredevil.

  • You probably won't care for it. I personally loved it, but I'm a fan of Pixar's work so the film worked fine for me.

  • I agree. Daredevil may be set in MCU but its a thing of its own, so much darker and much more badass. Can't wait for Jessica Jones and all the other Netflix Marvel series, I hope they are just as good as Daredevil if not better

  • I never saw the big hype with any movie with Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, and Jim Carrey in it. They're all overrated imo

  • SO true

  • Fast and Furious series, Taken series, Frozen and Big hero 6

  • I like Pixar's classics, but to me, Pixar became a hunk of shit the second it was bought by Disney (post Wall-E Pixar).

  • I never took an interest in Cars 2, Brave, or Monster University, but the only reason why I saw Inside Out was because of the positive hype and to me, it deserves the praise and not because it's Pixar.

  • Eh, I find it really unoriginal and the concept of seeing how someone's inner brain is made up of tiny little people who control several parts of it has been done to death, starting with a 90's show called Herman's Head.

Yeah, I just see it as another generic Pixar movie, I don't know. At least it's not a rehash of a movie that people grew on in an attempt to play them into watching another one which is conceptionally and ideally the same but different in detail in an attempt to remarket old merchandise.

I just couldn't get into watching this movie, and not once did I laugh at anything. I was surprised to find out that the film got a positive reception, especially when I struggled to find anything appealing or funny about the film.

  • I thought the first one was good but the rest was just milking it.

    The Hunger Games.

I usually like a lot of the movies.

Wait...You can't hate a movie if you haven't seen it. That's just being bias.

If you have seen it on the other hand...If you didn't like watching the movie that's your opinion, and that's completely fine.

  • I wasn't fond of The World's End. The main character was a complete twat and the last half was way to chaotic and pretty stupid. Defintely my least favorite Edgar Wright film.

i still LOVE Hot Fuzz, Shawn of the Dead, and Scott Pilgrim vs the world, but The Worlds End started out good, but the crazy shit that happens in his other films just didn't work for me, also hating all the characters (especially the main character) didn't help my enjoyment. The movie has a cool concept with a sloppy execution. :P

Didn't you think Nick Frost's character was awesome though? I thought he was the best part of The World's End.

  • He played Andy right? Anyways Andy was a fun character, and probably the only character I could tolerate.

  • Me, More so. Primarily cause Hicks, Newt and Bishop get axed, due to FOX's executive meddling.
And of course the story was uber depressive.

And Don't Get me started on Alien 3 But that movie was awful to begin with. No one liked it.

  • Yes he was. :) And you're right, he was fun. I didn't mind Gary as much to be honest.

  • I've seen enough bits of it to know that it's not my type of movie, but it's not bias if I learn enough about the plot.

  • All Adam Sandler's movies suck, all of them, i didn't even know people kept them in such high regard.

I never saw the big hype with any movie with Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, and Jim Carrey in it. They're all overrated imo

  • Love Actually. That movie makes me so sick, and a lot of people like that trash I'm sorry but thinking about it already infuriates me x)

Other ones are Twilight & The Hangover.

  • What is wrong with Love Actually? I've heard of it and it seems interesting.
