A major plot point was spoiled for me in Life is Strange...
I haven't played past EP2 so please no spoilers.
A major plot point from EP4 was spoiled for me (I don't know all the details so don't tell me anything, it's related to Mr Jefferson and a major character death if you need some context) I want to keep playing but I'm worried that this spoiler will affect my decisions. What do you think will it influence my choices? Should I play anyway because it'll be a great experience and there's plenty I still don't know?

It may be a major plot twist point, but there are many other plot points that you don't know that you may enjoy. Unfortunetly, any spoiler (from minor to major) will affect anybody's decisions. But, anyhow, you should play it anyways because it IS be a great experience and there IS plenty you still don't know.

Yeah I was almost certain I would play it anyway I'm just really annoyed about the spoiler, I hate having my choices being influenced.

Also there are not that many choices to do with that storyline anyway

Go ahead and play still. I had the ending of The Last Of Us spoiled once, takes some of the fun out of it. But you'll still have lots of fun if you haven't gotten spoiled with the rest. There's still tons of stuff for you to enjoy.
Just as is the case for a Telltale game, I'd say part of the fun comes from the journey and not the destination. You probably don't know the choices you have to make prior to that point in the story, and making those choices can still be a fun experience in it's own right so I'd say go for it!

It shouldn't really affect any of your decision making for episode 3 and 4. It'll probably just mean you'll understand what's going on better than Max does at the time.
