What "classic" Telltale game do you want to see another installment of?

edited August 2015 in General Chat

I'm not talking about The Walking Dead, Wolf Among Us, etc. as nearly everyone would choose a new season for every game they've worked on the past three years.

My choice would be another Monkey Island. I've been a fan of that series since I was a kid and Tales was stellar. Although since Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilms and Monkey Island's existence being the bane of Pirates of the Caribbean, the chances of a new Monkey Island game are looking very grim.

Also, bring back the puzzles. Ever since Back to the Future the puzzles were getting dumbed down until they were all but replaced by QTE's after the first season of The Walking Dead. Telltale's games have not been able to reach the same depth from a gameplay standpoint since.

  • I would like to see a back to the future season 2. I just headed that they are possibly moving it to ps4,Xbox one, and Xbox 360.

  • I'm currently really liking Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People (only on episode 4 right now), but I'd have to say a new season of Monkey Island, mostly because that one actually ended on a pretty big cliffhanger. Although I'd also like to see a new season of Sam & Max.

  • As much as I loved Monkey Island, I have to say Sam & Max. I want more of both series, and after all Telltale has done with Sam & Max, it would feel wrong to see someone else make a Sam & Max game. I would be totally fine with someone like Double Fine making another Monkey Island game.

You should check out the new King's Quest. It feels like a mixture of both styles of Telltale games. The game is focused on puzzle solving while making use of QTEs and choices.

  • Would like another season of Sam and Max. A couple years ago in an interview, they did say that they would like to revisit Sam and Max but in a smaller scale and not a full season sadly.

  • I really liked Wallace and Gromit, that or another BTTF would be nice

  • Look, we got a freaking Sam and Max trilogy. I want a new Monkey ISLAND

  • Coming from someone who was not familiar with either game series beforehand and was introduced to Telltale from playing Sam and Max, I agree with your thought process. I think Monkey Island is much more deserving of another continuation since Sam and Max had three Seasons whereas they teased another Season for Monkey Island that I presume they weren't able to follow up on due to leadership at LucasArts playing musical chairs around that point in time.

  • I'd like to see a new Back to the Future. 2015 would've been a perfect year to release at least the first episode... Apparently Telltale doesn't think so :(

  • If you include Lucasarts, we got 5 Monkey Island games and 4 Sam & Max games.

Also, I think that Monkey Island was handled much better by Lucasarts (excluding Monkey Island 4) while Telltale did a better job with Sam & Max. If Disney ever decides to use the Monkey Island IP, I want Tim Schafer to get it.

  • I think if TellTale applied the new game style to another Jurassic Park game, it would be great. Back To The Future 2 would rock as well.

Ahem Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max...A second Season of Back to the future would be cool as well, but

    Sam & Max.

  • Well they're rereleasing Season 1 on PS4 and Xbox One, so if it gets enough reception a second season could happen.

  • Telltale despite still make great games, has been far from its origins...unfortunately this is the bad thing when companies grow...simply cease to want to please the initial fans and part to the mass ($$$)....I still love the company but really wanted a new season of Sam & Max, Monkey Island or something referring to classic Adventures. :(

Ahem Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam & Max Sam &

  • I've heard something about being released on Ps4/one, but is it confirmed already? I hope so, especially cause there's a cliffhanger in the end of the game. :P

  • It hasn't been confirmed by Telltale yet, but the boxart looks official.

  • It's probably true then, thanks!

  • Your choices and actions change to story around you.

    A+ spelling right there.

  • Haha, and by the way, does BTTF have the choice-consequence system? I don't quite remember.

  • No. Only the Walking Dead and beyond.

  • So they're lying. D:

If I recall correctly, I picked a name in the first episode of BTTF, but in the later episodes everyone called me for a different name. For some reason. :-(

  • That was one thing. There is 'choices' but they really only do things like that.

I pointed that out too. Which makes me distrust the legitimacy of the box.

  • Well, that's better than nothing at all. I'd be thankful for seeing them in any way shape or form.

  • It was obviously written by some guy who has no idea about classic Telltale. Nothing to worry about

  • Didn't they say the Devils playhouse was the final season

  • Did they? Maybe they meant that they were done with them for now? :p

  • I don't recall them saying that. Even if they did, Kevin Bruner said on a Reddit AMA that they haven't forgotten about Sam and Max and that you can expect them to show up in smaller things in the future. (This was in October 2013 for reference...)
