  • As BBM already pointed out, that argument is now unfounded. To be honest, having a group of people with military grade weaponry is extremely dangerous and risks several things, especially if they dislike the government, then you have heavily armed terrorists on American soil. I'm not sorry to say that military grade weaponry should be banned from the public.

All that gun control is going to do, is make it harder for the average Joe to acquire a gun. It's not gonna stop the criminal from getting a gun. The criminal be able to get one on the black market.

  • Exactly, the tighter you choke people, the more they'll just step out the law.

    Yeah, the illegal market.

  • Government they were creating ever turned into another England, which at the time of the signing of The Declaration Of Independence, America had just ended a two-year war with.

    Declaration of Independence = 1776

End of Revolutionary War = 1783

And for the record, if the government ever did turn on its people, I guarantee that a significant amount of soldiers would not attack their own people they swore to guard.

    Gold was banned?

  • "The United States Gold Reserve Act of January 30, 1934 required that all gold and gold certificates held by the Federal Reserve be surrendered and vested in the sole title of the United States Department of the Treasury. The Gold Reserve Act outlawed most private possession of gold, forcing individuals to sell it to the Treasury, after which it was stored in United States Bullion Depository at Fort Knox and other locations."

  • saying that you can only either have (little to) no gun restrictions or outright ban guns is a false dichotomy.

better background checks would go a long way to prevent a lot o gun crimes (and mass shootings, like the Dylan "bowl with no soul" Roof one) without necessarily giving the govt the power to disarm the population.

The US Gov is not going to turn tyrannical any time soon. There simply are far too many intitutions within it for one to even dream of consolidating power.

  • Not right now, but I've been there before, seen my fair share of shoot-outs and dead people, you know you've seen too much when a dead body does not incite any kind of reaction from you, like "Oh, it's just another dead body".

It's not that bad though I've just had bad luck due to my family being directly connected to stuff like that.

Why does this shit seem to happen ALL THE TIME now? I bet this is gonna bring up the topic of gun control again since it was live on the news....

  • Yeah I saw this on the news this morning. The guy was a disgruntled employee of the station. It was pretty messed up. But you might want to remove the video because it violates this:

1.2 Don't post gross stuff. That covers images containing excess nudity or violence, and other material that could be considered offensive or NSFW.

  • There's a video from the shooter's perspective? I did not know that.

It's inevitable. I didn't want you to get in trouble nor did I want anyone who wouldn't watch that video in normal circumstances have to see it. Just seeing the thumbnail of the guy disturbed me.

  • Sad, that is why i carry a weapon with me wherever i go. My brother was a victim of violence, i am not going to be. I would have blasted him into outer space with a bombardment of 357 rockets.

  • As long as you have a gun license, or if you are trained properly to use guns, I don't think think that having a gun is a big problem. Fire weapons are still dangerous and you can get them pretty much anywhere. Heck, you can buy handguns in the souvenir shop in my country, so that is no suprise. I used to train with my dad with the rifle, but I am not much of a ranged shooter. I stick to the pocket knife in case of a emergency.

I used to carry a knife, but now I wear a pair of these whenever it's cold enough not to be suspicious.

They're leather gloves with lead packed around the knuckles. One good punch or backhand and it's lights out.

  • Why bother, in ohio you can carry openly. People don't fuck with you if they see you are carrying a gun. If everyone was carrying a weapon criminals would probably think about their choices before reacting.

Thanks, we love you too. Are all Europeans this edgy?

Also, organized crimes is a part of most cultures. It's an inevitable result of the public and private sector's inability or unwillingness to provide legal means of obtaining certain goods and services.

  • But the teenager stole the gun, so that means he can't buy a gun when he didn't?

This isn't even for a major gun promoter. I'm more leaned into gun control. But that doesn't really make sense.

What does buying a gun have to do with children stealing a gun.

You are noticing this now? Its always been like this, Europeans think they're better than us. It is so easy to attack america, but when you need us to save you from yourselves , IE WW2, you come running.
