Idk why everyone hates on ep. 5 i thought i was fine, a bit short but i enjoyed it. Plus talltale is use to fans reactions to episode that has main characters dying in it. Somthing tells me there going dark for a reason, build anticipation with no news or screenshots; then BAM trailer one day episode the next.
I like episode 5 of course it ended way it did. It is a penultimate episode. Only thing that I dont like about that episode is Gryff´s "healing factor". Hopefully Telltale will fix that.

I predicted a Rick Roll without having even clicked the link, but it's funny that some people even know the specific URL to watch out for at this point. :P
It's because depending on who you like and how you played, it is possible to miss the plot holes and the neglect of two POVs almost completely.
Generally, people that picked one character as sentinel when playing Ethan but then followed what the other character said as Rodrik hated the reveal of the traitor because, for them (us) it didn't make sense. But for people that followed their sentinel, it did make sense. Likewise, people that enjoy playing as Mira or Gared were disappointed with the lack of progress of their stories (and with Mira holding the Idiot Ball), but people that prefer Asher over everybody were happy with how nicely done his POV was for this episode. For people that cared about Finn, the way he was discarded in a very moronic way was another disappointment. For people that got in the hype TellTale built for The Beast, his few lines and early death was also a disappointment. For people that didn't care for either Finn or The Beast, their deaths were meaningless.
people don't realize that how you play the game and the choices you make are what make ur characters. My first playthrough I ended up connecting mostly to Asher and Mira but that's only because I made choices that put these two as the stronger characters, while my Rodrik was a lil biatch
But my second playthrough, it's all Rodrik and Gared! my Gared is a cold blooded killer who says eff Finn and eff the nights watch except my bff Jon snow), and my Rodrik is a bad motha-shutyomouth. And I even got mrs sassy pants (Mira) who doesn't take shit from Cersei or the Whitehills. At the end of the day, you choose the characters you want to enjoy.

That's not the main problem with the episode, though. The problem is that it did not take into consideration that people could have played differently than what the devs seemed to expect, with the whole traitor issue, which created plot holes on the playthroughs that sided with the non-sentinel through the whole game. Also the playthroughs that spared the traitor, since regardless of sparing or killing them, Rodrik dives head-first on what he knew was an ambush, ultimately causing his or his brother's death. On playthroughs that followed the sentinel and killed the traitor, everything that happened made absolute sense so these players might like the episode. That's why, to me, it is a bad episode, considered the type of the game.
I understand they wanted to make Ethan's decision matter, but in the end, they made several of Rodrik's decisions not matter in order to do that.
exactly!

Oh I agree when it comes to episode 5 and the Rodrik part of the episode, but when ppl try to bash the whole season, that's where I draw the line.
the traitor scene shoulda just been absolute/not determinant, even if it was a sentinel.
And honestly, talias song was enough for Ethan's memory. I wish they gave a little more to Rodrik and his decisions. But overall I still love his character

The reason they are "dark" is because there is no news they can give us, the episode hasn't been rated yet and we normally start getting big news like screenshots, trailers and release dates after it has been rated.
This dark period is pretty normal for Telltale during the middle of making a episode and has happened in the past with TWD and TWAU, the reason if feels worse if because other GoT episodes have been released at fairly regular intervals but this one seems to be taking slightly longer which is most likely due to them needing to take more time with this episode.

Telltale haven't officially confirmed a retail release date and there is no chance it will release on Tuesday as they would've released screenshots and other teasers by now, September 22nd is the earliest i think they could release episode 6 but it might be some time after that.

The Wolf Among Us final had screenshots (only 2 of 4 shown in the blog) so it's possible they could show some for GoT, we will be getting some key art and a trailer before the episode so we still have those to look forward to.

I sent a question thing specifically for Alex
I find it funny that the GoT players are impatient after like 1 month but the TFTB crowd had to wait 3 and 4 months and Thrones had consistency.
They got used to the consistency and now they will feel the pain, we got to feel for almost a year. evil laugh
THE TRAILER HAS BEEN UPLOADED!!!
I was about to click on it and then I saw 'XcQ'.
Nice try. Can't rickroll me m8. I had the best troll though.
I predicted a Rick Roll without having even clicked the link, but it's funny that some people even know the specific URL to watch out for at this point. :P
Wow, I never knew the reception for Episode 5 was so mixed.

So it really depends on each playthrough.
When you realize this is probably the longest we've waited for GoT news
When you realize episode 5 was released less than two months ago
When you realize that's a long time for GoT
So what date are we realistically thinking? S15 or S22 surely....
S22, being optimistic. I think it is likely that it is only coming out next month.
We don't have any ratings yet, and on past episodes the Australian ratings came out between 2 and 3 weeks (more on episode 1 and 2) before release.
exactly!

yawn
I know, I am I not complaining.
Episode 4 came out in late May and Episode 5 came out in late July. That is two months. If this is long wait for you then you should get a life.
(checks the thread for news)
remember the time when telltale told us that every 3 weeks an episode would be released
It's a lie...
Telltale, for fuck sake. JUST GIVE US A NEWS I was away like weeks and not a single news has been released!?
[?] Silence is a valid option.
I obviously think it will come soon because they already told us the retail release date of November 17. I think it showed come next tuesday
Telltale haven't officially confirmed a retail release date and there is no chance it will release on Tuesday as they would've released screenshots and other teasers by now, September 22nd is the earliest i think they could release episode 6 but it might be some time after that.
But I don't want life. I want my GoT episodes.
Why would they release screenshots? Its a finale. They didnt for TWD S2 Finale and they never released any for the wolf among us. Just saying!
For a show that only has 10 episodes every year, I'd think us as a fan base could be a little more patient
But we're worse than the TWD side of telltale lol
The Wolf Among Us final had screenshots (only 2 of 4 shown in the blog) so it's possible they could show some for GoT, we will be getting some key art and a trailer before the episode so we still have those to look forward to.
