  • Is ok man. I watched the trailer of this movie before watching Fantastic 4. I thought someone would be interested in this.

The series bores me honestly. I haven't seen The Maze Runner but I have no interest to. Sorry.

Holy Shit, I just saw No Escape and damn....

    No Escape Review

    enter image description here

No Escape features Owen Wilson, Lake Bell and Pierce Brosnan and the premise is that an American family moves overseas to Southeast Asia but as they do, Riots are breaking out and all foreigners are being executed. (The country in Southeast Asia isn't said probably for distribution and legal reasons but if you put the pieces together it is probably either Cambodia, or Malaysia but I think it's probably Cambodia despite IMDb now saying Malaysia)

    Positives

Pierce Brosnan is the true star here and he is actually the more comedic person, despite not having as much screen time as everyone else, he stole the show and without him then I might have been reflecting more mixed or negatively on this. Also, Owen Wilson who is usually a comedy actor surprisingly did well in a more serious role which I had doubts on when I walked in. There's tons of tense moments in here and just when you feel like things are going to die down, another tense chase scene or stunt comes up. Character wise, the family is extremely relatable and it's not too hard to imagine yourself in a terrifying situation like theirs and thats what makes part of the movie so intense knowing that they're just normal people. Personally for me, I was in Southeast Asia a few months ago so part of this I could relate too but other parts seemed like Hollywood stuff. Oh, also this movie had one of my favorite deaths in movie history, maybe it might just be me after having seen it but I thought it was really epic. One more thing is that Vietnam which is a beautiful country now, is finally not depicted as a place where Americans are killed all the damn time and they show up towards the end. So yeah, positives are Pierce Brosnan, the intensity, and the other actors performances.

    Negatives

From having traveled to Southeast Asia, I can say that there were a lot of stereotypes put in here and the villains aren't that good and shown more as emotionless killing monsters and even when their motive is revealed, its hard to care. Another negative is the run time, despite there being a lot of action and stuff, it seems to go by pretty fast and I was hoping there would be more stuff in it but it kind of just ends when they could have put in at least another 20 minutes. Also, despite being intense and thrilling, it is predictable, they rely on too many cliches and the end results for the different characters are what I predicted they would be when I walked in.

Overall: No Escape is an intense thriller with gory violence and Pierce Brosnan is a badass while Owen Wilson proves he can do more than be a comic relief in other movies but besides the positives, it's predictable and I felt like they could have done more with it, I would recommend watching it and seeing what you think..- I'm gonna go with a B

  • This movie actually did look good and intense from the trailer. Probably just going to see it when it's on Netflix or something.

Straight outta compton is my main goal right now.

  • Why don't you like the hunger games? I'm still wondering?

  • Oh! I'm sorry. I actually didn't see your reply from the other comment. :P

Honestly, I just didn't find anything spectacular about the series. It was pretty bland to me. Katniss is a badass, that's for sure. Everything else though I just didn't care for.

  • So for the sake of continuting my record of seeing the most movies in theaters in a year, I saw this just so I could review it...

    The Transporter Refueled review

    enter image description here

The Transporter Refueled is a reboot of the series and Ed Skerin takes the reigns as the main character of Frank Martin from Jason Statham in the original trilogy of movies and Chris Vance from the TV series. The IMDb description is In the south of France, former special-ops mercenary Frank Martin enters into a game of chess with a femme-fatale and her three sidekicks who are looking for revenge against a sinister Russian kingpin.....Even though I knew it would suck...still after watching it I have to ask...WHAT IS THIS SHIT!?!?!?!? Guess i'll just point out the positives and negatives first....

The Positives: Despite this being a piece of shit, there were some positives. Like the other installments in the franchise, they have some great stunts and action here, the action is well choreographed and the stunts are totally Furious 7 unrealistic style but still pretty fun. Also Ray Stevenson who I think is a pretty good actor plays Franks dad and he's probably the best part of this movie. And that's about it for the positives....

The Negatives: I can go on and on.... First off, Ed Skerin who plays Frank Martin just isn't cut out for this and he just sucks and is clearly a wannabe Jason Statham here and he doesn't live up to Statham or even Vance who I thought was a worthy Transporter in the TV show. Next, Frank Martin Sr and Jr, yup they pulled a Indy 3 and Franks dad is always calling him Jr and they show their names later and its Frank Martin Jr and Sr, that's a minor thing but they really didn't need to do that. Also speaking of the dad, as much as I liked Ray Stevenson in this, his character isn't just kidnapped once, but TWICE by different people and even though he's described as a former spy, he is made to seem like he's such a damsel in distress here. Also the chicks who are trying to take down the kingpin are prostitutes and were sold into the business and even though they say this story to try and get you to feel for them, they are such bitches even when the movie tries to get you to like them. The main plot is pretty rushed and some of the moments in here are just plain CRINGEWORTHY and painful to sit through, jesus this was awkward. I might think of more negatives to put down but I can't think of them right now.

Overall: Despite some good action and a solid performance from Ray Stevenson, this movie sucked as expected and is nothing more than just another shitty reboot which might be one of if not the worst reboots ever. Grade: D

  • No hopes for the movie whatsoever. I heard it's extremely silly as a lot of retarded stuff happens. Like a fight scene inside of a hallway with drawers tried to look cool but just didn't.

Also, why are Russians always the bad guys. I mean John Wick, The Equalizer, Air Force One, and now this movie. When are we going to get a Russian protagonist in a film? Or at the very least just not have them be the typical badguy?

his character isn't just kidnapped once, but TWICE by different people and even though he's described as a former spy, he is made to seem like he's such a damsel in distress here.

LOL Are you serious? 2 organizations kidnap him? I should probably see this movie for shits and giggles hehe. Not at full price obviously.

  • Yeah, it sucks and that scene with the drawers was kind of funny. And as for the Russians, even though they are described as Russian in the description they really don't have accents except for one guy so it's not too bad even though Russians are the typical bad guys now... Also there were so many guys in the audience who were disappointed that there was no nudity, tons of lingerie but no nudity since it's PG-13 xD. It's just flat out bad and that's coming from the guy who likes brainless action shit like the Expendables but this is where it goes too far for me, it shit on the originals and I hope they stop making them now.

Man, if you wanted to criticize people for what they liked so badly go to the Dark side of tumblr, You'll fit in real well. Watched Star Wars episode IV( a new hope) and Star Wars: Episode V( The empire strikes back)! holy sh*t, those movies were so much better than expected. Personally, I find Darth Vader to be the most interesting character.( I still like Han, Luke, yoda and the rest but I like vader because he's very mysterious) I'm super excited to watch the other 4 movies although I heard the prequels are very boring and bad ;/

    enter image description here

  • You just now watched them? Kewl then, they're classics. Personally IV and V are my favs. 6th is the least greatest of the original trilogy in my opinion and even though most others would disagree with me , I actually enjoyed the 1st prequel but was mixed about the 2nd and my mood changes on the 3rd. I'm still debating whether or not I'll see the 7th.
