Splinter Cell Love Thread

Does anybody else Love Splinter Cell? This question wasn't very worthy of a thread, but Splinter Cell itself is worthy of a thread. That game is the Meaning of Stealth, and it's one of the best games I've ever played, even through it's countless sequels it's never ceased to make me enjoy it. Except with the Gamecube version of Double Agent. that was awful. Anyway, I recently picked up Splinter Cell: Conviction after beating the first 4 games a long time ago on all of their platforms, and I have to say, when I saw the trailers for the Game back in 2009, I thought they we're going to take a CoD style approach and completely ruin the whole Stealth thing, Well I was definitely wrong.

Before I continue, if you don't know, Splinter Cell is a 3rd person stealth based game based off of the Universe of Tom Clancy, a Writer, mainly doing military stories. It follows the story of Sam Fisher, Secret NSA operative working with the Ghost faction, "Third Echelon". He's the first in the Splinter Cell's, a group of Goggle wearing mercs with all the skills of Agent 47, Ezio and Solid Snake combined. Sam, being the strongest. He's highly trained with Pistols, acrobatics, and melee combat, and Stealth most of all, being equipped to make any Inviroment his own personal playground. I won't spoil anything about the game franchises actual story, But that information is what I will tell.

Splinter Cell: Conviction is probably the most Stealth based game I've ever played, there are so many different ways each situation can go, so many ways around problems hidden throughout the room, so many stealth focused areas that you NEED to be stealthy in or you're dead. If any of the other Splinter Cell games were quite like this, the Franchise would probably be that much more loved. The story is amazing as well, and the acting is just so perfect.

Now, I'm mainly praising Conviction at the moment, but every other Splinter Cell game before it is just pure perfection. Especially Chaos Theory, that one is just beauty in a game, and the music is fantastic. If anyone else wants to talk about this game, I'd like that very much. XD (Also, I've never played blacklist, so Please don't spoil anything from it.)

  • I also like this serie very much and right now, I'm trying to finish pandora tomorrow in hard difficulty and without dying a single time.

  • That's a great goal. I tried doing that with Double Agent, I did really good up until the final mission, I made one slip up with a Wall Mine and it cost me my life.

  • Well I've had bigger failures in the franchise believe it or not. I once panicked during the final level in Pandora Tomorrow and chucked a grenade into the wall. It glitched out and hit a civilian. I had to restart the entire level because I was going for a "No save" playthrough, where I'd only save at the end of level's and disable checkpoints. Really fun thing to do on the final level when you're right outside the final area, huh? XD
