The game is popular?

Because of the TV series, I can hardly find forums and other things about the game. The series is better in your opinion? That for me is boring. People do not know the game, it makes it less popular.

I wish the game would have a series of TV ... so everyone would enjoy Clementine, Kenny and the rest. Disappointing. I'm pretty jealous of the TV series, is more popular.

  • I doubt it, there are a lot of fans that have never even watched the TV show. The game is popular because it's awesome.

  • The show is way more popular overall

  • The show is more popular than the game because everybody watches TV, not everyone plays video games or have even heard of Telltale.

  • Not everything popular is good, like Twilight for example which promotes abusive relationships and how a boy is more important than family.
The TV show is popular but it's treatment of black characters, is bad, and the episodes are hit and miss. Look at season 2 where they extended the farm part of the story for about an entire season rather than keeping it short like the comics.
The Game when it's played by people is generally considered to be well written and more consistent. It's popular with people who have read the comics and want something based in the comic universe. The Walking Dead tv show is made up of 50% zombie genre fans. 20% walking dead comic fans. 30% casual viewers who've not heard of the Walking Dead.
The game is made up of. 70% fans of the comic books. 20% casual gamers. 10% fans of the TV show who pop up here and ask for a crossover with the tv show.

  • Tbh I haven't ever watched the show and I don't plan on doing so anytime soon.

  • wouldn't want there to be a TV show, the game is intriguing because of its choices (among other things of course) which you simply can't do on TV

Well yeah that Television show as someone else had stated caters to a much broader audience. Even more so than the comics as well, because most ppl do watch TV before reading a comic and playing a video game. Plus out of all the 3... the game version of walking dead takes the longest ever to release. And some may not have as much patience to find out what happens next. the time span between TV seasons is like 6 months and comics I think are out either monthly or bimonthly while the game takes nearly 2.5 to 3 years to be out again and then on top of that 2-4 whole months in between episodes. Few have that strong enough of interest to hold on long enough for it. Plus the sequel season as expected, didn't really hold much of a candle to the original season. Though still sort of decent in its own rights and virtue. Had the second season gotten more praise or attention than the first then the game might be on the road to becoming close to on par with the show's popularity.

In Twilight, Bella basically gives up everything to be with Edward, and to honest, Edward gets a bit out of hand, and it can be seen as abusive. As it's not shown in a bad light, nor is it discouraged, it... well, it basically glorifies abuse. Then again, it does kind of depend on what you classify as abusive, and what you don't see as abusive. Personally, I do think it glorifies it, but it's a matter of opinion. :P

  • Because everybody watches TV and not everyone plays video games. And let's be fair, the TV show is now coming out with season six, has a spin off (Fear The Walking Dead) and has been around since 2010.

Also, I highly doubt there will be a TV show of the game.

  • Depends on if you think a guy stalking you, breaking into your room to watch you sleep is abusive. I don't know. You might find that romantic.

Oh and the TV show has a habit of.Introduce a black guy get rid of the first black guy.

  • Seriously? That's dumb. I haven't caught up on the show, but that's pretty stupid.

  • I don't think there will ever be a TV show of the game. And yeah, the game would be less popular. A higher number of people watch television (as some other users have already pointed out).

I honestly don't want a TT TWD show. The charm of it comes from Telltale's own style of doing things and I think if it gets adapted into a live action show it'll not be as memorable at all.

  • That is possibly the dumbest, most out-there comment I have read on this forum. Ever. You are trying to incite a racism debate and you know it. Name characters and prove to all of us the show does that. Then name the 'white' characters who died, and still attempt to prove your point. Get out of here. A feeble attempt at playing some sort of victim. Just because the current cast does not have equal black/white ratios does not mean they are treated any differently in the show.

  • I find the charge of racism towards the TV show to be unfair. In fact, I appreciate how not white-washed the casting has been.

  • I like the fact that Clementine black is beautiful and sweet as it is.
