Are you fucking kidding me? Episodes realeased every 4-6 weeks my ass, this is the longest fucking wait after TWAU Episode 2 ("That won't ha… morepen anymore" yeah...). What's taking them so long? I hope Episode 6 will be the best fucking episode ever made by TTG otherwise I'm going to San Francisco and smash every one of them heads in with a crowbar.
I was really hoping Telltale would pull through and it would release on O27 but I guess that was never going to happen... N17 isn't that much more of a wait.
I just checked, the TWAU wait was actually a few days shorter, because first episode came out on Friday. So yeah, the TWAU wait lasted 16,5 weeks, the GoT wait is 17 weeks.
I never imagined they would actually top the TWAU wait, but here we go.
This is stupid. The episode and the disc release will be available on the same day. Discs are printed at least one month before release, meaning that the episode is done and being printed as we speak.

You know what, I'm not mad, if it took this long to make the episode, than it's most likely really good. Look how well Tales did (past tense, makes me so sad knowing it's over) due to its long waits.
They could just postpone the retail release by two weeks and print it with all the episodes, but nah.. this way ensures Telltale receive money even on pre-owned copies because people are forced to buy the final episode separately.
edit: This is only true if they package a digital voucher for the final episode in the box, though. I won't be so bad if you're automatically granted access to the final episode just by having the disc.

I hope we find Benjen in the North Grove. We were reminded of him during the latest episode so we wouldn't forget, but he wouldn't be at the forefront of our minds.
My proof- He's the First Ranger, his name is a combination of two names, he is the third son and the fourth child of Rickard Stark, he was mentioned in five GoT episodes, and what, pray tell, is the number of the next episode? Six!
There are theories out there that require more tinfoil than this. Search your feelings, you know it to be true!
It should work the same way as the Minecraft Story Mode disc where it will grant you access, here is a tweet confirming it for Story Mode so GoT should work the same way.

Oh you must be kidding. I mean... Really? Three more weeks of tiresome waiting? It's better be good. No, it's better be the greatest episode you have ever made.
I'm fine with the wait, it just means they're working to make the episode as good as possible. Lots of games to play in the meantime, plus it releases 2 days before Battlefront which is kind of perfect.
On the bright side, with a longer wait we have one generally good Telltale game that ISN'T Minecraft and whose story is still ongoing.
Of course that doesn't really soften the slow of this devastating news... November 17th.... that's almost an entire extra month away (28 days)... so either:
a). This finale will be the absolute magnum opus greatest finale they ever made, surpassing the finales to TWD S1 and Tales and TWAU.
b). Minecraft Story Mode premiere used up precious time and resources that is now delaying the GoT finale's release...
b). Minecraft Story Mode premiere used up precious time and resources that is now delaying the GoT finale's release...
The finale has its own team; the episode is likely taking longer due to all the variations they have to take into account from the Episode 5 ending and all of the currently unresolved plot elements.
It sounds like this comment was made partially to hate on the fact that Minecraft: Story Mode exists. By that logic, the Tales finale also took away "precious time and resources" from GoT Ep 6 as well - and even more than Minecraft, since the finale came after Minecraft Episode 1, no?

Oh you must be kidding. I mean... Really? Three more weeks of tiresome waiting? It's better be good. No, it's better be the greatest episode you have ever made.
On the contrary Option B was a just hypothesis I thought of as a possible explanation for the release date being a month away.
Tales is good, Minecraft isn't bad, its mediocre and while it will probably get better I neither like it but I'm not stupid enough to hate it either, I just have low to medium expectations of it- and by 'precious' I meant finite and thought that pre-existing resources were divided up for multiple projects - which disillusioned me.
Sorry but I like GoT and Tales more than Minecraft Story Mode and I don't have high expectations of Minecraft Story Mode so yes I'm not exactly happy over the false possibility that Story Mode's development took some precedent over the GoT finale but I don't know Minecraft Story Mode well enough to 'hate' it just yet, I can't judge it until its 3rd episode is released, for now its meh to me and I naturally favor both Tales and GoT over it, but I consider that natural since those two games have had more overall development as opposed to Story Mode which just started.
Time and resources are also by nature precious. Do I hate the Minecaft Game? No, I find it difficult to become invested in it but its more due to lack of interest than wanting to rant about how much I hate it like some kind of troll. Does the possibility of the Minecraft Game delaying the GoT finale upset me? Well it doesn't make me happy but more specifically it leaves me disillusioned with the current state of affairs - I don't have high expectations of Minecraft and don't like the idea of it affecting GoT, although to clarify while I don't like that I do understand why this would economically be a natural move to kickstart a new series that will outlast the current GoT series - that doesn't mean I have to like it but don't confuse my disappointment with blind hatred.
Not to mention there is no point in ranting against the existence of Story Mode either - I mean the more you think about it the more sense it makes, its a perfect franchise (in theory) to adopt into the episodic story format and will undoubtedly be popular especially with kids and generate much profit. But I don't have to like the idea of it affecting GoT even if I understand how that can happen, all I can do is accept it. Though I always liked Tales and didn't mind if its development affected GoT, in either case there is the fact and opinion - the false fact being the possibility of Minecraft delaying GoT, my correlating opinion to that being disappointment, but I am a fan of GoT so of course I would be disappointed if its development was delayed for a game which I was not particularly a fan of.
Short Version: Yes, by that logic Tales also delayed GoT, there is no arguing there, but that doesn't upset me because I'm a fan of Tales, not to mention it wouldn't have made much of an overall difference since the two series did for the most time run together so under this logic the time and resources would have evenly been divided up between them. Then along came the new Minecraft game - its too early for me to decide whether I like it or not - so yes I'm disappointed that it could have disrupted GoT's development but surely you can see that's not the same as raging on and on about how terrible the Minecraft game is. Telltale did make it after all, maybe it will be worthwhile in the end and its existence already makes economic sense so there's no point arguing against its existence.
Do I think a GoT finale delay is a worthy trade-off for the Minecraft game premiere? I don't like it but I understand.
Still, thanks for clarifying that's not the case, its good to know that Minecraft probably didn't delay GoT.
b). Minecraft Story Mode premiere used up precious time and resources that is now delaying the GoT finale's release...

Fuck. Me. Wow, I never expected it to beat out TWAU EP 2, and that was a goddamn rewrite. Oh I hope to god it's because the final choice in episode 5 changes a lot. Please don't be a rewrite.
The days are very close but the wait for GoT is longer than TFTB by only 1 day
* Game of Thrones: 119 days
* Tales from the Borderlands: 118 days
* The Wolf Among Us: 117 days
Have faith in TTG brother, have faith.
Though I guess you are right and it won't be better than TFTB, but it must be at least on the same level. They've got plenty of time to develop decent finale.

Why have they frequently said in the past that they wait a long time to say when the episodes will released, until at the earliest week before, and now reveal the release date 3 weeks in advance?
Comments
Probably the classification.
We are all Viserys right now. Half crazy!
Wait, WHAT?!
I know I should be glad that we got a release date but... NOVEMBER 17TH?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
Ugh...
I was really hoping Telltale would pull through and it would release on O27 but I guess that was never going to happen... N17 isn't that much more of a wait.
Well, it is in 2015, right?
I just checked, the TWAU wait was actually a few days shorter, because first episode came out on Friday. So yeah, the TWAU wait lasted 16,5 weeks, the GoT wait is 17 weeks.
I never imagined they would actually top the TWAU wait, but here we go.
I was hoping for the episode to get released during the week of my birthday, sadly it is the week after.
This is stupid. The episode and the disc release will be available on the same day. Discs are printed at least one month before release, meaning that the episode is done and being printed as we speak.
Well, I was hoping for the episode to be released at least in N3...
Ugh, I just want to finish GOT already... ;-;
The disc won't contain the episode, it will contain episodes 1-5 and require you to download episode 6.
Well, you saw how excellent, Tales from the Borderlands was. I have a strong faith that the final for GoT will be worth the wait.
That`s even more stupid. Uncomplete physical game? Jesus..
Either that or it's been rewritten and remade more than once (says my inner pessimist).

Only 119 days that we had to wait...
Episode 6 will be included in the retail disc price, it will grant you access to download the episode.
So you're automatically granted access to episode 6 just by having the disc? There is no one-use code in the box?
I hope we find Benjen in the North Grove. We were reminded of him during the latest episode so we wouldn't forget, but he wouldn't be at the forefront of our minds.

Just did the math and this is the single longest wait for a TTG episode - longer than the waits for both TWAU ep2 and TFTBL ep2.
It should work the same way as the Minecraft Story Mode disc where it will grant you access, here is a tweet confirming it for Story Mode so GoT should work the same way.
Even longer than the wait for walking dead s1ep2 ?
Oh, that's good to hear then! No problem with that.
Now I might buy the Minecraft disc since I know I can sell it on if I wanted
Oh you must be kidding. I mean... Really? Three more weeks of tiresome waiting? It's better be good. No, it's better be the greatest episode you have ever made.
Really, it doesn't feel that long.

NOOO! That's just too long!

Will they update it so if you maim Grffy Whitehill he is actually missing an eye in his next scene?
Sometimes I think about givin' up on their games. Screw you Telltale for this wait, but I still love you for making GoT.. but screw you anyway
Is this farthest out they've announced a release date 1 month in advance?
That's.... strangely impressive actually.
17th of November? Really?
Sigh... Well, at least now we know. The video was pretty nice, though.
