Drugs tore up my family too but I believe the exact opposite of what you think. This is the problem with anecdotal evidence. If my family had to get drugs through legal means, they could have gone for help without fear of arrest. Decriminalization has done more damage to my family than everything else, and the evidence bears that out. Based on the "not making sense" comment, I think you should dwell on your views a little more. People suffer over this useless, pointless war on drugs every day.
I've watched drugs tear apart my family (As in, not my mother and father, but my relatives), other peoples families, and lead to the (failed… more) attempted suicide of my cousin. So, I kinda take a Bull-headed stance on this. The question: Should Drugs be illegal? The answer: No. Just no. We are after all a nation founded on freedom, you want to wreck yourself, that's your thing. Drug can benefit the user thought, they can be used to reduce pain or relieve stress. A holocaust victim with PTSD was treated with LSD, and it worked he was able to function without the effects of PTSD bearing down on him. But...But, I cannot stress this enough, drugs like PCP, LSD, heroin, and designer drugs should be illegal with just cause. Such drugs are dangerous, and way to addictive. I believe there is no harm in smoking some marijuana or something like that. But then again, I've never done any drugs so what the hell do I know? Not that my opinion matters anyways.
Like I said, My opinion doesn't matter, It's just that; an opinion. Legalize it if you want, It's not my place to tell people how to live their lives, no matter how I feel about it. All I know is that I don't intend on ever doing any drugs, I'm fine as is. But I have nothing against you if you do drugs, I know a lot of people who do drugs. And well, that's their life not mine, and I ain't gonna tell them how to live it. So, drugs, fine. Me, not so much.

This might be a naive comment but maybe things wouldn't cost ridiculous amounts if the processes were simplified. I find it that doing a right thing is more expensive than doing the wrong thing is ridiculous. I don't live in US though so I don't really know the inner details of this stuff. Things should go more towards Judge Dredd, not to that extreme but give law enforces more rights to solve things on a spot instead of spend months or even years expensive legal processes of simple cases like someone has drugs.
See drugs?
Destroy them on a spot.
Yay, done.
Or maybe even trash on your home should have expensive legal process to determine if it should be emptied outside.
EDITI'm an idiot, just woke up and got my shit confused. No, I'm talking about that semi-famous speech he gave about how the 'new generations crutch is marijuana' and how his generation had alcohol for a crutch so why couldn't that new generation have pot for it's crutch? And Reagan was like, "Why can't your generation be the one that doesn't NEED a crutch?" Which might be the douchiest thing I've ever heard a president say. Why the fuck couldn't his generation be the first who didn't need a crutch? What a donger.
You're right, that is incredibly naive. What you're proposing is the foundations of a corrupt police state. Americans don't need this, our civil liberties are already shrinking at an alarming rate.

Never said it should be against the law, I just said I don't like it. I'm completely pro-choice in the matter. It's just not my thing, you k… morenow?
Edit: Actually I did say it should be illegal in a previous statement, so.... I guess I changed my opinion a little in the past day.

But all drugs ARE legal in the Wild Card Collective.
Seriuosly though, yeah. End it. Reagan was kind of a moron imo.

Actually, this is the asshole you're looking for. Harry Anslinger: father of the war on drugs.
Please tell me that 'AZ QUOTES' doesn't stand for Arizona quotes. I'm really tired of AZ making me look bad.
He's for sure an asshole, but not the asshole I was looking for. I know, phrasing.

That's okay. But it's your choice, right? So there's no reason it has to be against the law.

Well that's cool then. Certainly you never need to do drugs yourself.
