You can only wear armor over thin outfits, like jumpsuits, long johns, riding leathers, etc. I had the same problem, when I tried out a winter coat and jeans and then tried to put on my over-armor. I wound up wearing nothing but strips of leather and underwear. Shit was unseemly.
I just can't seem to figure out which piece do what. For instance I had a full outfit that was removed when I put on a left arm leather item… more, but then when I had that left arm armor piece on I could equip a totally different outfit without removing the arm piece.
Lmao same thing happened to me. I had some raider armor and tried to put on the leather straps and ended up looking like an apocalypse stripper. Is there any way to differentiate the two types of armor from each other?
Oh, that...

Yeah they just looked ratty and unkept, a lot of the short hair ones were the same. There were only 5 or so that I thought looked good. I was actually not all that impressed with the character creation, but I still got the character I wanted.
EDIT: Though the ratty, unkept, just woke up look probably makes sense with the atmosphere. I still didn't like them.
I agree, it is everything I hoped it would be as well. The combat feels very fluid, the dialog options feel fluid to me, the voice acting is good. My major complaint is that the raiders spam molotovs like nobody's business. Playing on hard = burning alive every time I see a raider.

I have two questions. One I've been trying to build a house for the last two hours and my question is this. Is it possible to make a two or more story house? The game seems to only let me build only a first floor. Am I doing something wrong?.
Second question. Is it possible to craft ammo? If so how? I seem to be running out more than I've been finding.
Alright, I have a question for you guys. From what I've seen the latest Fallout seems pretty cool, problem is that I've never played the previous game and know nothing of the lore. So, can I still pick up this one and enjoy it or should I play one of the previous one first, if so which one(s)?
Playing the past ones isn't necessary. They take place in the same universe but other than that there's no connection. Usually they'll make reference to events and characters from past games but never in a way that's vital to the current story.

Some guy on Reddit made a tower, so I'd assume you can. I usually just stick with prefabs.

Not to my knowledge, but this hasn't been a problem for me. The only ammo type I really had a shortage on is occasionally .308.

Yeah, knowing past lore might enhance your experience, but it isn't vital to it. In the meantime if you're interested you can find some good lore videos on YouTube, particularly here, https://www.youtube.com/user/ShoddyCast/videos
You can also find very specific things on the wiki, like a full timeline of events or just deeper reading.

So, I'm not gonna whine about this cause so far it honestly doesn't bother me that much, but as I feared the 'dialog' wheel (which should rightfully be called the 'keyword wheel' here) is a bit of an annoyance. Not a game breaker or anything but let's just say I (mild spoiler for Unlikely Valentine quest) meet Nick Valentine for the first time - it seems like a pretty natural thing to ask him about himself since he's a little odd looking... the problem is, I have 'what are you' on the wheel, and honestly don't know whether that's 'excuse me, Nick, buddy, no offence but are you perhaps not human?' or 'gaah, what monstrosity are you?!' so in the end I just avoid the elephant in the room altogether and go 'ok, was fun, bye, see you in Diamond City...'
And that's a bit silly, not to mention rather drastically limiting my options.

I'd take it, since I could use to level a bit quicker, but I tend to roleplay my perks and it just doesn't 'fit' my fairly high Int character...
Btw, what do you think of the overall difficulty? Feels pleasantly (sic, hehe) amped to me... I literally had to gobble down every irradiated piece of molerat meat and junk food I had on me and scrounge every single bullet just to get through one of the early main quest segments... and it was still really close a couple of times. Definitely feels harder than 3/NV.

I like Gothic girls. They are hella sexy
Yeah the ones that are long all look meh. Most have a shaggy just woke out of bed look to them
Same here. Pretty much whatever looks alright on them.
I'm surprise I like it so much. It's like skyrim with guns

Life in the wasteland and all that.

Does anyone else think that Nora looks noting like in the opening scene?
I most got what I wanted. Though when she talks in conversation a face gets weird lol. Though I notice all the characters kind of do
Probably, but I haven't figured out how. I'll keep an eye out.
Still downloading the game... Might finish in a few days if I'm lucky. haha
I hate Mama Murphy so much. Just the way she talks and her mouth freaks me out sometimes.
i thought that was far cry 3 LMAO
Ghouls are like 28 Days Later zombies. They're such pains in the ass now.
"you're a man of of tiiiem, but all's not llawst..."
Oh god, the little fucker is back and he's all grown up.

"Gothic"

I'll probably buy it for christmas then, thanks for the answer!
The .38 (i think) is usually in abundance, so that's been my go to weapon, but I alternate between all the types of ammo so I don't run out of any.
Anyone else think Piper is cute in a hipster kind of way
She's cool, but i hate the "Blue" thing.
I was filthy with .38 rounds until I customized an auto pipe pistol into a poor man's light machine gun. Now I burn through it surprisingly fast.
Where do you meet Piper?
Shoot their legs. Makes life so much easier.

Diamond City.
Thanks, I'll make sure to check out the videos and wiki before I start the game.
Oh I haven't even gotten that far, haha

Yeah that's the main one I'm missing. I think. It's mostly sniper ammo I need.
Well, "Bitch" was still "Bitch" so it's got that going which is nice.
Idiot Savant is an amazing perk, even if you only have 5 or 6 intelligence.
I just got 1000xp from a relatively minor quest.
