Some doors are locked magnetically and can't be picked, and I intend to get all of the loot/xp available. I haven't specced into combat at all. All crafting and utility stuff for me.
Ah, mine is focused more on crafting and critical hits. I specced Locksmith, but Hacker seemed kind of redundant.
Maybe Nick Valentine can crack it though...
I'm doing the quest in Concord, and I've just cleared out the raiders from the roof and now there's a bloody deathclaw down the street. The minigun''s out of ammo and I haven't taken it back to Sanctuary (where I'm building new houses) yet.
Holy shit this game is addicting. I seriously played nothing else last night. Has anyone found any weird bugs yet? In the pre-war segment, the character creator menu wouldn't load, and the dialogue was delayed and only worked when the game was paused. A restart fixed it. Other than the occasional framerate drop and the awkward building controls, it's pretty damn good.
In F3 he has a tendency to jump up at enemies while you are shooting them, and getting killed by friendly fire. He also REALLY can't take a hit). I'd recommend getting a different follower or just telling Dogmeat to "wait" at your house, so he can be a house-pet/ambiance.
He did that to me too. I was sneaking through raider country and he just started yakking. About halfway through the chat bullets started whizzing past us and he just kept talking. Amazingly, I didn't get hit.

Is anyone else disappointed by the fact that having a low Int. stat doesn't have more of an effect on the game?
Also I made a character with an Int. of 1 and got the perk "Idiot Savant" holy shit it's amazing! I got to level 7 just by building a wall around Sanctuary and killing some Radroaches.

Don't waste your time, Power armors are tied to level, the higher level you are the better the armor that will show up, just telling you in case you're not level 28 because only after level 28 that X-01 spawns.

I feel like a dick for doing it, but going to Vault 81 and shaking down Erin for everything she's got just to find her cat is hilarious. Bwahahaha I shall have her Teddy Bear, kickball, and locket.
Dogmeat is glitched if Broken Steel is installed, so, yeah, he's glitched in goty, at least the one I had on the ps3. He levels with the player... only his damage and health increases are 10x higher.
I went with him to Old Olney once and just sat in stealth, watching him solo the... inhabitants.
I like this game, but man there are some game bugs. Like on xbox one atleast you can only get Tina from vault 81 to join your settlement if you kill her brother.

Well, like I said, he's still glitched in the ps3 goty... I dunno if he's still glitched in whatever version gets shipped with the xbone FO4, so if that's the version you're getting I can't confirm anything. Though knowing Bethesda's record with fixing glitches... he more than likely is glitched there too.

Mine is an Assault Rifle I customized from scratch. It has a full stock, long barrel, automatic receiver and drum mag. It looks vaguely like a German MG-08/15 and that's just fucking awesome.
I'm a lazy fuck and have yet to customize a weapon, so I've just been using whatever was on hand at the time. Actually, can you tell me what makes a sniper rifle useful, be it a mod, perk, or whatever? Because I picked up a reasonably ok stat-wise sniper rifle and couldn't actually hit the broad side of a barn with it...
Favorite weapons so far?

I have been holding my breath... and every time I was pretty sure the crosshairs were right on the target's head when I fired. Still, I kept missing. It was so frustrating I eventually just rushed the guy with some shitty close range weapon.
I genuinely need to know what makes sniper type weapons better, cause the perks are a bit confusing this time around.
Are you holding your breath while using it? You push down the left stick I think.
I've been using a Laser Sniper Rifle which is very useful, but recently, I switched to a .50
pipe rifle.

Rifleman and Sniper are the big perks that make sniping better, though I've found they are far from necessary.
What kind of sniper were you using? Try a laser sniper, they tend to be lighter and have milder recoil. If you're using guns, short barrels and bayonets are a big no-no.

It was a hardened sniper rifle. Not a spiffy gun, but should have worked. Sure, the guy I was trying to snipe was pretty high up, but shooting people from a distance is the point of sniper rifles, yes? I just really don't know if it was a hitbox issue or something else... just, as someone accustomed to fps games I was really baffled as to why I wasn't hitting my target, so I thought it must have been a lack of perks or sth. I'll experiment more I guess, and maybe try and get into modding.

I love me sniper rifle. I always like sniping and stealth in games when it's an option. I also like the freeze gun I got from the Vault in the beginning of the game. (Got it by accident. Dogmeat can grab it despite being locked.)

Sanctuary Hills for me looks like a Brotherhood outpost lol.

Even if they don't, you can bet your ass that there will be (user made) mods for it.

The power of friendship.
I ran into a bug that made me unable to complete the quest "Confidence Man" other than that, just a few dialogue bugs here and there, nothing major.
I can't wait for a mod (on the PS4) to come out that turns Power Armor into a legally safe knock-off of Iron Man.

I've never seen him or fawkes die in my game when i first played

I love Idiot Savant so much. It procs all the time, even at mid-level intelligence.
I went from level 3 to 8 just by saving Preston's group.
I agree I'm level 6 in intelligence and that Idiot Savant perk is still amazing .

What are the odds of being mutated by radiation being beneficial anyway?
any way to make negan in F3or 4?

ah he still glitched?
Depends on the mutation. Low, though. Most are unnoticeable.

Kellogg's Pistol. .44's are my fave.
Or the Two Shot Automatic Pistol. That upgraded is an unstoppable machine.

Ah, that gun is damn good. I gave it to Nick for helping me kill Kellogg, and he tears shit up with it.

Gave all my ammo to my companion and somehow they lost it all. . .
Never give anything you love to them.
Just killed swan poor guy
Did he scare the shit out of you too?
Swan is the Behemoth near some monument or something? I forget.
Yeah. He's an...unpleasant surprise for anyone wandering around the Boston common.
