You may know me from my "What were your favorite Childhood games" thread. Now this one is about movies/shows. So start commenting people.
Shows:
Spongebob Squarepants (Man i loved this show as a kid. I still do, but the old episodes will always be the best)
The Fairy Oddparents (I used to love this show as a child, but i don't watch it anymore, the new episodes are just...boring)
Spiderman (The TV shows, i loved Spiderman back then, but now i am more of a batman fan)
Movies:
Jurassic Park (I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! Loved it as a child, still love it today)
Back to the future (I wasn't allowed to watch this alone back then because it had a lot of swearing, but i love the series)
Indiana Jones (I kinda feel like watching this again)
Spiderman (The old one)
Ok So What were your favorite Childhood movies/shows?
Comments
Schindler's List is a favorite childhood movie of mine
A Clockwork Orange is another I remember vividly as a kid. You know the movie had the song "siiiinging in the rain" or whatever. At least I think it was rain...
Hmmmm.
Films.
• Land Before Time
• Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy
• Ice Age
• Shark Boy and Lava Girl (lmao this movie)
• Jumanji
TV shows.
• Dragon Tales
• Fairly Oddparents
• The Simpsons (Seasons 1 - 8, ofc)
• Jimmy Neutron
• Spongebob Squarepants
• Danny Phantom
• Avatar: The Last Airbender (Way better than Korra kthxbai)
I always found the Ace Ventura movies to be an enjoyable watch when I was growing up.
Ed, Edd, N Eddy was the sh** yo. Man I loved that show and miss it. Wish it was still on tv now. All the characters were awesome and somewhat relatable. I always connected with Eddy. He reminded me of myself.
Scooby-Doo was awesome too I mean who doesn't like Scooby-Doo? I still watch all the spin off shows to this day. Shaggy was my favorite even though he is obviously a stoner xD
SpongeBob was and can sometimes still be awesome. It was better in the earlier seasons, but there are still some good episodes here and there.
Yu-gi-oh and it's spinoffs was always awesome as well though came a little later in my childhood. The first 3 series were awesome and just good fun. GX was the best. Sucks they never finished the English version.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (starring Jim Carrey) is one of my favorite childhood movies ever. I watch it once a year around Christmas time.
You watched A Clockwork Orange as a kid!?
Yea it's actually where I heard the song, "Singing in the Rain," for the first time. I always thought Alex was a greatly misunderstood character. I've even strived to dress up as him as a child. Going on my own sprees of ultra-violence.
Schindler's List was also a great comedy film when I saw it back in like the early 2000's. Never understood why people were so depressed over it. I mean remember the scene where Amon Goeth was about to shoot the Jew in the back of the head, but his gun kept jamming? Oh man comedic genius by Spielberg over here!
I'm jk by the way. Of course I never watched any of this as a kid. Figured everyone else here would catch on with the joke.
I watched all the Jurassic Park movies as a kid over and over again, so Jurassic World was a big moment this year for me!
Even more than that though, the Star Wars and Indiana Jones series were my life when I was younger!
I used to play Disney's Dinosaur every day in the VCR according to my parents, too when I was 3 or 4.
Reply to the last flim favorite: I know right? Korra failed!
The Fugitive.
Indiana Jones, (Raiders, Temple Of Doom, The Last Crusade.)
The Alamo, (John Wayne).
As far as Tv Shows go:
Home Improvement, (Tim Allen).
Early Edition, (Kyle Chandler).
There where lots of TV shows and films that i liked growing up but there are some of the favourites that i remember but there where lots of others.
Movies:
TV Shows
Did you see Kingdom of the Cyrstal Skull? What did you think of it?
It was interesting to see Indiana Jones as a 60ish year old man.
It was cool to see Marion again, though I preferred the blonde from The Temple Of Doom, Kate Capshaw.
And Kate Blanchette looked very cute.
I thought the storyline was way to reminiscent of Raiders, and not nearly as good.
Plus, having Shia Lebough in it was a terrible casting choice.
I think if they do another film, which I doubt given Mr Ford's age, they should perhaps do a follow up of the Last Crusade.
Movies:
Shows
True. I can understand Harrison Ford coming back for Star Wars, given that he might not have a very physically demanding role, but Indiana Jones was always doing something that you'd have to be kinda athletic to do. If he can pull it off, I'd be amazed.
And Last Crusade was my favorite of the four, so I'd love to see a follow up to it.
Early Edition! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who loved that show.
I'd love to see a modern version of that (with digital media, they could even mess with the main character and have the device only show the current day's news whenever that character tried to show it to people).
I loved oh so many things as a kid, it's hard to make a list.
I did like a lot of the regular stuff for kids my age (Popples, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Pound Puppies, My Little Pony (and yes, I do like Friendship is Magic), Jem, Reboot, Captain Planet and the Planeteers, Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, Batman: The Animated Series, DuckTales, heck the whole Disney Afternoon and DCAU), but I also loved Nick at Nite so I really liked shows that were made way before I was born like The Dick Van Dyke Show, Mary Taylor Moore, Doby Gillis, The Patty Duke Show, Gilligan's Island, I Dream of Jeannie, The Bob Newhart Show, The White Shadow, Carol Burnett.
Then I loved shows like Saturday Night Live, Home Improvement, Quantum Leap, Early Edition, The Cosby Show, Newhart, Family Ties, Growing Pains, ALF, Full House, 7th Heaven, Wings, Fraiser, Cheers, Charmed, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (and I even enjoyed the film when I was a kid - I still remember telling me that they were going to make a series Buffy show based on the cheesy film).
For films, I love the Back to the Future trilogy, the Indiana Jones trilogy (and I didn't mind the 4th film, but prefer fanedits), Jurassic Park, Jumanji, Ghostbusters I+II, Caddyshack I+II (probably one of the few people who liked both Ghostbusters II and Caddyshack II ), Coneheads, Wayne's World I+II, Tommy Boy, Black Sheep, Uncle Buck.
Oh, and I used to tape the PBS morning shows so I liked watching shows like Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, 3-2-1 Contact, Shining Time Station. I also liked Mr. Wizard's World, Bill Nye the Science Guy, and Beakman's World, and Captain Planet. I also used to watch Disney Channel shows like the New Mickey Mouse Club, Kids Incorporated, Dumbo's Circus, and Pooh Corner.
And I also liked Nickelodeon shows like Pete & Pete, Hey Dude, Salute Your Shorts, All That, Rugrats, Ren & Stimpy, Doug (and I didn't mind Disney's Doug, but prefer the original), Rocko's Modern Life, Rocket Power. And Cartoon Network shows like 2 Stupid Dogs, Cow and Chicken, The Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Laboratory.
There's lots more, but like I said, it's hard to make a list. There's just so much I liked when I was growing up.
I grew up with disney movies when I was a kid! And also three popular franchises: Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. I also loved Jurassic Park when I was around 10. During winter hollydays I used to watch Home Alone and movies like How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Polar Express which I really enjoyed! Concerning the shows I remember I used to watch the scooby doo cartoons when I came back from school.
Oh! Oh...I didn't catch on.
Aww yeah someone else likes The Polar Express! So many other people I've talked to always said it was weird and fell into the uncanny valley, but it's always been my favorite Christmas film!
TV Shows: Looney Toons and Disney cartoons(from the 1950s/1960s), Thomas the Tank Engine, Goosebumps, Scooby Doo, Power Rangers, Beast Wars: Transformers, Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z, Spongebob Squarepants, Mr. Bean
Movies: Toy Story, Matilda, A Bug's Life, Tarzan, Mulan, Wallace and Gromit films, Chicken Run, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas, Road To El Dorado, The Goonies, Gremlins, The Dark Crystal, The Wizard of Oz, Return To Oz, Holes, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Inspector Gadget, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
I love Johnny Bravo!
It's been probably close to 15 years since I saw that show.
Of all the tv shows that came out in the 90s, I think Early Edition was one the best.
I think what it did was show the goodness, the humanity, that all human beings are capable of, when they quit living only for themselves.
I can only remember being into South Park when I was a kid.
The Iron Giant, man I cried so hard at the end ;-;
A+ Most underrated animation film of all time.
