So, since Fallout 4 costs 60€ in Steam and I didn't want to go into the series blind, I bought New Vegas for 10€ and it's worth every penny so far!
What I really like in most games is the story and choices and boy does the game deliver that! You go from a simple courier trying to get answers/revenge, to the possible absolute New Vegas leader, being able to choose who to ally with and choose if you're going to kill important characters (like the almighty Mr. House) or not. Random awesome image:
I'm currently at the part where I can recruit the Boomers to join the NCR, the Legion or just kill them all, but so far it's a 9.6 for me (bugs)!
I found the New Vegas setting quite disappointing actually. I wasn't expecting the whole entire map to be Vegas, I was just expecting to have it rampant with Casinos. At the very least 5 of them, and have it all in one area where you don't have to constantly go through loading screens.
Well to be fair, they've changed a bit.
In Fallout 3, they were maze-like, had lots of sharp corners/dead ends and were usually loaded with nasties like Mirelurks or Ferals.
I know Cait also likes Lock picking and being asked to lock pick. She also like if when you ask for money in conversations. She actually hates it if you take drugs after her mission.
Does anyone know how to get all the companions to like you really quick? So far what I know:
Piper likes lockpicking
Preston likes bei… moreng nice and doing Minuteman quests.
Cait and Hancock like to take drugs/chems
Danse likes you putting on power armor
Anything else?
I love how the only way to romance Danse is to turn your character into an enormous hypocritical asshole.
Here you are, subscribing to an ideology that all synths are sub-human, dangerous things, and swearing loyalty to a faction that fully intends to hunt down and eradicate them... while at the same time you're fucking a synth on the side.
I think it's actually a brilliant and subtle way to indirectly hint at what the BoS is really like, and reinforce those vaguely nazi-esque themes they've got going. You know, what with all those real life stories of nazi officers with Jewish mistresses and all.
It's also a really, really sad ending for Danse, when you think about it.
I find them pretty lackluster. There isn't any backstories, or very light. IMO Fallout New Vegas did a much better job with the way they did them. THey made them interesting for the most part. I liked the one forget the number that had someone sacrifice someone to keep the vault going, so it became a election. There wasn't anything like that at all, which was disappointing.
However i did like how they sorta hid them on the map. I discovered one by regular scaving, looking for wood, to upgrade my settlement.

The Sanctuary settlers are such a whiny bunch! Especially that one lady.
Seriously people, count your blessings! You have a water purifier, a thriving farm, turrets and automatic weapons for everyone ON MY DIME. Two houses have power with more to come. How am I repaid? Sarcasm! Rudeness!
I just wish the NPC's would show a bit of gratitude. After all, if not for me, they would be HANGING FROM MEAT HOOKS IN SOME RAIDER'S LIVING ROOM!
Yep, he's so convinced synths are the enemy that finding out he himself is one doesn't turn him against the Brotherhood, it turns him against himself. And he stays that way, even after all the shit Maxson says to him. And in the end, he either ends up dead, or his only consolation is an illicit affair with the asshole that fully agrees with the ideology that condemned him. He literally goes from a respected, high ranking soldier of the BoS, to a dirty little secret of someone who replaces him.

Are you talking about Marcy Long? Ugh, she's the worst. It'd be nice to banish her and her pathetic, weak and cowardly husband. Or just slaughter them outright.

On another note, this game has way too many characters marked as essential. There should be roughly zero. If I wanted a game where every named NPC was immortal I'd play Skyrim.
I just started playing Fallout 4 and its my first experience with any Fallout game so bear with me, lol. So, I have a question. I sent my dog home before a battle and I havent seen him since. Is it because I destroyed his doghouse? Does he come back?
Favorite weapons so far?
Mine is an Assault Rifle I customized from scratch. It has a full stock, long barrel, automatic receiver and drum mag. It looks vaguely like a German MG-08/15 and that's just fucking awesome.
At first, I was a bit iffy on the mobster theme going on in the game, but I'm starting to get used to it. I was just so used to the wastelands and raiders.
Anyway, I really like Nick Valentine. He's a cool character. I was a bit intimidated by his rotten synth look in the shadows, but his design reeks of badass. Be awesome to see him and Silver Shroud standing side by side with each other, I have yet to see that since I don't have the game still (won't have it for a long while, I got 5 other PS4 games to save up for). The outfits and their atmosphere together is compelling.
Does anyone else have the issue where the edges of the screen are blurry in cutscenes? It happened to me all of a sudden for no reason (on the PS4) and won't go away... it looks like this:
(Also, the continued adventures of Bill, the BoS sycophant)
He Should be somewhere , wherever you sent him. Like if sent him to the gas station, he should be there somewhere. I would try making the dog house and placing it there, then rezoning back to see if he shows up.

I love me sniper rifle. I always like sniping and stealth in games when it's an option. I also like the freeze gun I got from the Vault in the beginning of the game. (Got it by accident. Dogmeat can grab it despite being locked.)
Preston likes being nice and doing Minuteman quests.
Likes when you upgrade energy weapons at weapon benches. SO does Codsworth. I don't know what Curie wants.
I have the same problem. I tried to look for some info about it and it turned out that it happened to a lot of people. Everything is pointing to it being a bug. It it's true I just hope that they'll fix it soon.

Comments
They look serial killer eyes lol
I wish Joshua Graham and Ulysses could return:(
Not so far.
I wouldn't be surprised if one of the DLC's takes a page from H.P. Lovecraft though. The game is set in Boston, after all.

Ah, thanks mate!
Yea that jumbled around in my mind too. Did they ever explain how they made him one?

I don't remember any Ghouls being in any of the Vaults in '3.
Those cheekbones and that jaw! So perfectly chiseled, that they rival Blaskowicz's own.
Ah yeah, you're right. I'm thinking of Vault 34 in New Vegas. Come to think of it p, the vaults were worse there.
I am about to get New Vegas. How much worse are they, might I ask?
Some are easier, some are harder. Many are filled with nasty surprises and are very confusing to navigate.
Not at the moment, but later on there will be.
I know Cait also likes Lock picking and being asked to lock pick. She also like if when you ask for money in conversations. She actually hates it if you take drugs after her mission.
I shall keep that in mind. Cheers.

Hell yeah, I remember that. Vault 11. The story was so good on that one.
By the way, where is your settlement? I'm still trying to get Sanctuary to 80% happiness.
The Danse storyline made me seriously sad. Especially how he says that he's proud of the Sole Survivor when they come to kill him.
The Sanctuary settlers are such a whiny bunch! Especially that one lady.

Ouch, Bethesda.
Yeah, Bethesda's pretty awful at making grateful NPC's. On the bright side, at least they aren't as bad as Skyrim's.
The one vault near the glowing sea had a pretty good backstory.
More like alien

Institute FTW!

The Never Ending 10mm Pistol! Mwaahhahahahhahahhaaaaaa!!! >:D
Watched a few playthroughs of it. It's so cheesy, I love it!
(And now I made myself hungry, fuck.)

I don't think i discovered it yet.
lol nice. Dogmeat is the master of unlocking.
It's right on the edge, if that helps you find it.
Doesn't Curie hate it when you kill Mr. Gutsys and other robots of the same type?
