My brother is over 20 years old, has played video games his entire life, and fixes computers for a living.

So this guy is talking to people viewing the equivalent of a show about how it's a vice to watch shows. Talk about an instance of the pot calling the kettle black. I wonder if his audience is catching on that he's essentially talking about them when he discusses that?

His points are so horrendously stupid that they don't even need refuting. Sure, he would have a point if the level of media use (games, tv shows, books) became an actual vice or hindrance to one's life, but it's obviously beyond stupid to generalize in the way that he did in this video.

I suspect he's not really that serious in that video as otherwise it would be one of the dumbest people I actually have seen on video at internet preaching his self-righterous message of telling people to grow up because they want after a long workday to unload their emotions by playing some online shooter.

This guy is very detached from reality. Yeah, you're right. Video games are for little kids. That's why a vast majority of them are intended for mature audiences. There is absolutely nothing wrong with an adult playing video games. In fact, lots of games require you to solve puzzles and think on your feet. True, the gaming industry does have its fair share of dimwitted shoot em ups that require no skill and have no substance whatsoever, but lots of games are intelligent, innovative, and challenge people. And plus, he's acting like everyone who plays video games only play video games and do nothing else. Like every gamer is a stoner fat guy who spends most of his time staring at the TV screen with his controller in hand than eating or sleeping. Not true. I play video games, but I actually get up and do stuff too. I know lots of people who play video games and they all have different hobbies and fully functioning social lives. So maybe this guy should actually know what he's talking about before going on a childish and pretentious rant about it.
If you think I shouldn't be playing Undertale, you've got a problem.
But I will say this. I know a lot of guys in their 20s and 30s blowing all their money on games and neglecting their family responsibilities. That's some bullshit, but if they weren't being shitty because of games, they'd be shitty because of baseball, or alcohol, or some other vice.

First of all, men are not the only ones who play video games nowadays and also in every community and for any medium there are always going to be trolls and immature people, it isn't something that is specific to the gaming community and it doesn't define it. I don't know this guy but I'm sure he is exaggerating on purpose to gain more audience, which a lot of youtubers do. Why would gaming be any different than watching a movie or listening to some music, or even reading a book ? I've been into video games for almost 5 years now and I think that games are a legitimate form of art sometimes even more interesting than movies. Contrary to what a lot of people believe, gaming brings people together (for example look at this forum) and it allows people to take a break from real life problems which means that they have a life and that they also have responsabilities so they aren't stupid.

Video games, aside from being a form of entertainment, are widely known to be common stress relievers.
Adulthood is pretty stressful and you never really get time for yourself, since what you mostly think about is money. Basing on this guy's logic, this is how a "normal" adult day-off should play out:
Adult: ugh, work is very stressful... i hardly got time to have fun. (proceeds to build a table)
Ah huh. He's practically saying that adults aren't supposed to have fun and should work 24/7.
