The final Smash Brothers direct is going to air today. They are going to talk about Cloud, and I presume we are getting a small handful of other characters and content as well. I'm really looking forward to it!

Was kinda hoping it would be the 17th, since that's only a half-day at my school, but eh. Guess I'll have to rush home from school since we get out 16 minutes before it starts. Can't wait!

Me too! The roster is so close to being complete with additions from the last games that are still viable to return (RIP Snake and Ice Climbers).

I hope you don't have to buy them. I hate the idea of buying characters.
You've had to buy DLC characters up until now (Ryu, Mewtwo, Lucas, Roy). I can't see that changing for Cloud and whoever else they announce.
I hope Snake and Waluigi make it. Fingers crossed. But whoever they release, I'll still buy em. I'm a sucker for DLC fighters.
Nintendo has just updated their servers early with content to be released tomorrow, dataminers are in the process of getting the data out of the update, SO if you don't want to be spoiled you should stay off of social media ENTIRELY until the direct tomorrow, and remember to keep twitch/youtube chat hidden because they will spoil it for you.

Same. I think the stuff in the data/files as of now will be released after the direct or at least during this month, and other characters will show up in the data later one.

Bayonetta isn't a bad character, but I'm disappointed that we won't get Wolf/Inkings/Snake/Banjo/etc.
However, Corrin seems like a waste of a slot.
With all the shit going on regarding Konami, Snake was never going to happen.
I don't know Corrin's dragon abilities look pretty sweet.
And he's far from being a Marth or Ike clone due to them.
Honestly IMO that was incredibly disappointing and pretty mediocre for a final presentation. Bayonetta was a terrible way to end it IMO, I don't even remember anyone saying they would vote for her.
I'll just stick to Melee.

Corrin, though, let me just say - I initially wanted to buy all DLC characters to support Smash, but I'm hesitating on even buying Corrin. I know there is a somewhat new moveset, but I really just don't care.
It's exactly this for me with both, I think the characters are cool and all, just not something I really care about. I think they would have been better earlier on in the year but comparing them to the others like Roy and Ryu is light years of difference IMO.
Was expecting another returning character, like Wolf... why did they have to add ANOTHER Fire emblem character, like holy crap there's enough already :C
Never played Bayonetta, but she looks like an interesting character. Cloud looks alright. Just that 1% disappointed tho
Bayonetta was actually the character I voted! So I'm actually quite happy she got in, it wasn't super-surprising she made it in though in the end.
I love Fire Emblem but even I don't care enough to get Corrin. Maybe after I played Fates I'll actually want to buy the fighter. But for now, I'm throwing my money at the screen for Bayonetta though.
I'll be getting Cloud when I return home this weekend, looking forward to it!
