Depends on the region.
Western Swiss speak French, Northern/Eastern Swiss speak Swiss German and Southern Swiss speak Italian. There's also pockets of Rumantsch speakers throughout, but the language is fading into obscurity.
Looking up words. Talking to Brazillian people. Those kinda things. Sometimes is hard to understand Brazillian people, because they talk so fast. But i think i understand quite well. I guess i like to understand another language instead of the one that most people learn like Spanish.

Haha, that's funny cause brazilians tend to think that of Americans. I guess it depends on your accent and etc. It's great that you're learning Portuguese, it's a nice language but people are usually not that interested in it.
